3:55 I think I remember the gameboy advance version of Mario World also has updated sprites. I probably was aware the “all stars” version had updated sprites but I’m sure I forgot at some point. The main reason this is interesting to me is because it explains where these sprites came from for early CZcams animations haha. I loved the Mario/Luigi fan animations and I was a little confused when I played Super Mario World and the Luigi sprite was nowhere to be found.

I get that they would use 3D for more features. But I would say the only thing visibility in game that makes me feel like it’s 3D are the Giant battles

“Magnum” is a bit of English that Japan really seems to have latched onto when it comes to guns (along with “vulcan”). It’s a reference to an American gun, so of course that connotation exists in English, but I think it has been somewhat overshadowed by another. When we hear “magnum”, we tend to think less about guns and more about… er… “holsters”, if you catch my meaning.

So thats why this stupid game lags so much for me... yeah lets render whole level at the same time who cares about emulator players in the future 😔

I just got an orange Japanese GameCube that was modded toswitch between US and Japanese region games for around $100. Absolutely great deal… not sure if they meant to leave the animal crossing game in there though😅. And yes it was the plus version.

I recently heard a fellow fan point out how mesmerized they were by Heroes' water effects back in the day. I don't recall ever taking notice myself, so I had to boot the game up again for yet another playthrough to take a look. My verdict? That is indeed some enchantingly sparkly water, which is especially impressive considering all of the trials Sonic Team had to go through to get their first multiplatform Sonic outing up and running in the timeframe allowed to them.
