The soldiers in the video are part of the 3rd Infantry, "The Old Guard" They have stood watch over the tomb of the unknown soldier since it was dedicated over 100 years ago. Arlington is open to all branches of service for burial, though the cemetery, nearly 160 years old is reaching capacity and limitations have been enacted. You can be buried at Arlington if you die while on federal active duty other than training. As far as I know, the federal distinction mainly applies to the National Guard. If you've retired from active duty and are receiving retirement pay. Former POWs who received an honorable discharge from their last term of service and died on or after November 30, 1993. In addition to Medal of Honor recipients, if you've been awarded the Distinguished Service Cross (Air Force or Navy), Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star or Purple Heart.

@@jamescurfman3284 Happy to help. Arlington does have the most restrictive burial eligibility of the national cemeteries and the eligibility rules have been changed 14 times in the last 150 years. They are proposing new rules to eliminate eligibility for those who die on active duty, but not in combat, and the retirees. As of now I haven't heard of these changes taking place though. They also have a planned expansion with room for about 60,000 more graves, but the cemetery is indeed running out of space.

( Mrs. Bixby letter - Abraham Lincoln) in Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C. While we were there, it seemed almost every day there was a funereal service for one of our fallen. The MPs would stop all the traffic on the post as the procession traveled into Arlington.
