Great song, Ms Sushi. I got to witness some of this. My father was killed in Vietnam in 1967. I was 5 years old. My mom remarried a remarkable man and they are still together today. After I was grown, I got invited to attend a reunion of my dad’s unit from Vietnam, the 187th AHC. Over the years, I was able to attend several and get to know a bunch of the guys that flew with my dad. They were some of the kindest men I’ve ever known. And we would all drink a beer to remember my dad.
Paint me a Birmingham, please, one of the best written songs I have ever heard
Tracy Lawrence has so many great songs!!
Tracy Lawrence - Find out who your friends are.
Also Letters From Home - John Michael Montgomery
Semper fi RIP to all my brothers and sisters who have payed the highest price. God touch each family that lost them.
June , 1968. I was leaving for Vietnam. I had a cherry '57 Pontiac Star Chief, white over burgundy. I gave the keys to my best friend, Steve. I said "It's yours , dude, 'cause I ain't comin back " He laughed.
Sushi, your reactions are great! Tracy Lawrence's song paint me a Birmingham is a great, great song!
You give so much thought into these reactions. I love how you allow yourself to be vulnerable because that’s the spot where you can really enjoy country.
SUSHI I am proud to have served you and all the American people in this great country. God Bless The USA.
I Loved Her First - Heartland!!!
first time I heard this song was a week before I shipped for bootcamp we were drinking and laughing and it came on and like a light switch everyone got really quite
I love Tracy Lawrence he sure can make you get in your feels.
I honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice. As a Vietnam veteran with 24 yrs. of service, I realize how fortunate I have been.
Yeah, me too!! Can't seem to hold them back. My youngest went to Afghanistan, I couldn't think about anything else for a year. He made it home, but about 2 weeks after he was home his unit was hit and they lost over half the guys my son knew. He held it in side, but that kind of guilt doesn't just go away. After about 2 years being home everything started to fly apart. He finally got help and what a difference when you can put a tragedy like that in it's proper place and not feel quilty for not being there. Anybody that thinks war is a fun thing, has never been in one. This song reminds me of that.

What a memory, getting back up, somebody who would die for you all by Tracy Lawrence
Tracy is another underrated artist, very unique voice yet recognizable. My favorite song which takes me back to my life: Time Passes On.
