This is good news. Finally Victorian period TW style. I only wish for the units to look more detailed, but this is all fantastic. I hope that this gets a better looking sequel in the near future and that this game prospers, more of grand strategy games always and forever

Gotta be honest, the time given for turns (40 seconds) is not at all enough for moving and positioning units. This is especially considering the direction of a unit, their spacing from enemy units, and the terrain they're on has to be considered. It's something easily fixable but still a huge gripe I have with the game.
Most people agree. I will admit that for most experienced players (there are not very many) it's usually plenty of time.

I honestly don't mind it, I think it adds to the realism. It reflects how real generals would make mistakes, because they have to make decisions quickly. I will be trying to order everything, and realise "oh I just sent my cavalry into a death trap". It adds more emphasis on quick thinking.
Well, it is changeable in game settings, but since I started playing, the default turn timer is 120 seconds, which is more than enough time to manage an army, while still giving a sense of urgency that requires you to think on your feet while planning ahead, as you didn’t have all the time in the world to debate the best possible move in every scenario, you have to quickly and decisively choose the path with the best chance of success as they’re presented to you, not minutes after the fact.

The problem with turn base games is that you can simply find a way to outplay your enemy making games drag on and real time turn base games seem to end quickly this game is a turn base game mixed with a real time based game and really works and since it’s just kreigsppiel that’s basically the point
Battles in real life were more about turn-based battles than RTS, where everything happens too fast, unlike turn-based battles in games, they end quickly, battles in real life took a long time, commanders had time to visualize and make their decisions based on the information he At the time, it was quite common for a battle to last 5 to 11 hours or even days depending on the scale of the army.

They stopped working because of internal issues but you can play the Age of Justinian 555AD mod instead.

@@TheTerminatorGaming They were in development but because of some internal issues between the team the process became halted. You can ask sourosh the developer of the mod for more question and I think he's going to release the unit reskins though.

Some are larger

Personally I hate this game especially because the artillery play horrendous I've had rifles snipe my cannons at my guns max range the arty play is absolutely dogshit in this game the infantry play very clunky and kinda slow and the cav are virtually useless but so was cav for the most part in this point in history and the campaigns suck I'm legit thinkin of gettin the money I paid on the dlc back cause this game doesn't do any of what it wants to do right hopefully that gets fixed in the future but for now I'm just 100% disappointed in the game

The game was only a disappointment because the developer released the game early, instead of the developer playing his own game, testing his game with his team, acquaintances or family, to fix the bugs and optimize the game, just like the best games did, no, it follows the recipe of the industry, does not test its own game, sets a release date, and it would be more beneficial for the development of the game without a release date, since most of the time this generates tight deadlines and pressure from shareholders to launch the game, this is the result, how do you you can see, beautiful game 👌

It is because it is the art style of armchair historian channel. The characters are usually hand drawn.

It’s not trying to be anything but a virtual board game. Give the devs some slack, they’re a *very* small indie studio, and this is their first game I think. Plus it’s definitely stylistic more than low graphics. That being said, I would like some crisper options for unit detail and bitrate, as even on ultra settings it feels a tiny bit “blurry.”

What prevented the devs from making a real-time wargame that would have brought the battlefields to life. Hex-based, turn-based games are dull.
that would've been nice, total war really needs a competitor, especially one willing to do black powder, or really any historical titles again. but this is still an interesting idea and i still want to play it, the simultaneous turn system will probably make it more interesting than most turn based games(besides i pause every 6 seconds in total war singleplayer anyway half the time lol)
I Guess its far easier to create a hex-based game since they dont have to deal with pathfinding IA but for it to be their first game i think its pretty good
