îAmJēssïę FloraSerencio it’s 8” from above and 1” from the front. So if you walk by and your 1” from the edge it will not open.

Thanks for the review! How is the trash can holding up after 4 years? Any issues with the censor? Also, how do you like black finish? Someone mentioned that when the lid opens it touches the top of the can and scratches off the black finish… have you noticed anything like this? Thanks!
The trashcan is still going strong. I do have a few scratches on the black finish, especially around the rim like you mentioned because it hits the top of the marble countertop when it first opens, but after that, it learns not to go that high.

@@SimplySmart123 Awesome. You happy with the trash bag quality from them, too? Just as strong as a good quality 14-gallon Glad trash bag? A bit more expensive, but I like the custom fit option a little better, I think. Every once in awhile I tear the Glad bag while stretching it to fit. Hate that!!
R Ski we only used the bags that came with the van and now we just use standard ones. Both work well. The custom fit ones hold almost too much trash so using the cheaper basic trash bags work the best. The fit is tight but still works well.

îAmJēssïę FloraSerencio unfortunately I am not familiar with what products can be shipped to the Philippines but you could check retailers that you are familiar with that you regularly buy products from.
I love every function of the trash can, except being restricted to only using simple lining bags. Is there anyway you can use Glad bags or any other brand of bags in the liner slot compartment? I rather use a glad bag for its accessibility across the country, the durability, the fragrance sent to cover up oders, being the bigger brand. Theres a lot the glad bag offers, but as far as the simple liners, I''m not sure if Simple liners can offer me all that in their trash bags, right now. But i hope they do and can compete with glad bags in the future.
You can use any 13 gallon tall kitchen trash bags without issue as I mentioned in the video. They don’t hold as much garbage but it’s actually a good thing as it’s not as heavy to lift out and it doesn’t have the extra time to get stinky.

Great video!! Okay so I’m looking at getting this, so is it still working and reliable or have you had any issues? Also can it work voice activated only or is there no way of switching the movement sensor off? As sometimes with my sensor bin when I walk past infront of it it opens unnecessarily, so it’ll be great to know if this does the same unnecessarily?
Still works well. Note you have a 5 year warranty from date of purchase if there are any issues they will just send you a new one for free.
There is no way to deactivate the voice or the motion. The sensors are really good and I get less false alarms than with previous cans!

After a month, how has that finish worked out. Does it smudge and show fingerprints or is it clear?
I Am Intractable it’s working out great. It has a nano coating which makes it very easy to clean and keep looking new. Just take a damp non-abrasive cloth and wipe off any imperfections and then dry with a non abrasive cloth. Still looks like new even with my 8 month old son smashing into it with his walker cart on a daily basis.
does this open up everytime you walk by it?
Only if you get closer than 2” or are over it. The motion sensitive expands once it’s open so it will never close on you. Best trash can I have ever had for sure.

What kind and how many batteries does it use? Great review!
The newest version uses only 4 AA batteries. Need to check with the one that you are planning to get as there are a few variations

Does the simple human retain any of the odors from trash? Thats the one reason why i want to buy a new trash can because my cheap one doesnt hide the odors. So if you can answer this question Id greatly appreciate it!
I haven’t noticed any odors. It’s mostly metal so I don’t think it would absorb smells like plastic might. You may also want to try better trash bags but if the odor is held in the lid the best trash bags will not make a difference.
@@SimplySmart123 hmmm yea the garbage can i have is plastic. So that may be one of the reasons. I do have a concern of how tight it closes. I live in a one room apt. and when I come home i notice in the summer time the smell of the garbage can fills the room and I end up using more trash bags than i want. From your experience, was this worth the price? Thanks for answering btw!
We love ours. Not only does it look amazing but it’s very quite and durable. Also super easy to change and replace the bags. They have other models that are good at a lower price point and also don’t buy their bags. Just use normal bags. They should be on sale soon as Christmas and Cyber Monday are coming!

How can you make the can stay open?
Unfortunately that feature is not built into the can. You could put tape over the sensor though. That is the one feature that’s missing and no option to disable the voice control.

Unfortunately it’s not that smart.

They probably could. But the battery would probably be expensive. Adding cost to the end-user and not be competitive with similar trash cans.
Do you have to say the words loud? I don't want to wake up people in the house 😴😫
Do not worry you will not wake the baby. Just use a normal tone of voice when your near by. If your shooting baskets from across the room you will need a bit more volume but I would say less than yelling.
Can it senses dog or cat movement?
If they were tall enough to trigger the sensor then yes. Its detects motion not just humans. It would be hard for an cat for sure.
Once you miss the throw and it litters on the ground, you have to go and pick it up and throw it inside. Also - try throwing the vegetables scrap and then you will end up cleaning it yourself. Its fancy but not practical.
I never miss. Haha. The open can feature is mainly for of you have something nasty that your are throwing away and you want the can open before you get there. Like something dripping etc.
Doesn’t seal itself or automatically replenish bags? Not so “simple.” Not buying it until it’s actually automatic.
