    I ran this same sequence and still get the flashing orange light. Unscrewed the metal filter and gave that a good cleaning. Then I ran a 2nd descaling process. Still the flashing orange light. I am using 50-50 mix of water and white vinegar.. I’ve had this delonghi espresso machine for years and have done this many times in the past. I’m baffled why it still flashes orange

    • @HelpfulPhil
      @HelpfulPhil  Před 7 měsíci

      According to Delonghi the flashing orange means it still needs another descaling. I've never had to do more than one descaling process. Make sure that the steam wand knob is turned 'off', i.e. pointing towards the front.

    • @HelpfulPhil
      @HelpfulPhil  Před 2 lety +1

      @@michael-kq9un you can try. The hot water uses the same pipework and the rocker switch simply diverts the supply to the steam nozzle. Cleaning the nozzle may help clean that section of the divertion pipework.

    Do you recommend descaling even before flashing descaling light (I used machine 7 months,aproximatley 1 time per day and never had descaling light)

    • @HelpfulPhil
      @HelpfulPhil  Před 5 měsíci

      You 'can't' descale it properly without having the orange light flashing. Your machine will be 'stuck' so you need to reset it, this will likely immediately invoke the orange light as it is likely that it needs descaling after 7 months.
      To Reset Default values
      This resets all menu settings and programmed quantities back to the default values.
      To reset the default values, proceed as follows:
      1. Position the steam spout over the drip tray
      2. Access the settings menu: press and hold the (Steam) button for 10 seconds until the three buttons flash in sequence:
      3. Turn the steam dial to the down position;
      4. Press the Single Cup button. The three lights flash simultaneously to confirm that all original settings have been restored.
      5. The and lights flash to indicate that the steam dial must be closed again (O symbol).
      When the steam dial has been closed, the appliance is ready for use.
