- Many people opt for the Delonghi Dedica or ECP line when choosing their first espresso machine, not yet knowing the rabbit hole they are getting into. In this video, we go over the most common questions I get regarding Delonghi Espresso Machines, and talk about accessories that can heighten the quality of your espresso game with these affordable machines. Finally, we do a couple of demos. First, we look at how to dose based on the basket, we compare single and double baskets, and we also compare cheap generic vs quality IMS baskets. Finally, we go over some tips for mastering your milk steaming.

Where could i find that steam wand?
As someone who just bought a Dedica as recently as a couple of weeks ago - this video is a GODSENT. Thank you so much for putting all of your gadgets/aftermarket mods and advice into one single video, Tom! Much love.
Tom has been a Dedica godsend for me. I'm in the process of modifying mine to use the "Gaggiunio" modification. Everything is pretty much straighforward except for the pressure release valve, which the Dedica doesn't have.
If you decide you want to "hack" your Dedica to a whole new level of control (pressure, temperature and profiling), check out the "Gaggiuino" project.
@@phillipzx3754 are you able to share any details on your project? ive been intersted in it but i have no clue where to start
@@jasonng5194 I'm just going in blind. The first thing I did was build the version for an actual Gaggia Classic. I followed Tom's lead on where to install the pressure sensor. I had originally placed the thermocouple next to the pressure sender, but it wasn't very accurate. I found a nice spot on the boiler. The whole thing can be placed where the stock circuit board fits.
Tom..if me providing these links rubs you the wrong way, let me know. My CZcams channel is pretty dead and this is probably the best way to show what a fool I might make of myself. 🤣

This is probably the best video in the entire field of Dedica upgrades. Only useful upgrades, quality choices, well explained. Great job, Tom 👍
Thanks for your kind feedback! Cheers!
I bought a DL2TH26E pressure less basket and it didn’t fit the tamper and the leveler. It was too narrow. I sent it back to Amazon. Are there any high quality baskets that fit the 51mm tamper or should I be satisfied with my cheap baskets? In what way doe’s expensive baskets make a better espresso?
Wow how far this machine go, I remember a few years back we didn't have such cool accessories. This is a great time for this hobby.
Simply the best content about the Dedica on CZcams.
Got straight answer to every question I had about this. Thank you. Very informative.
Really appreciate this video as a new owner!
Using these tips for my SMEG. Thanks!
thank you so much, I'm a newbie to using an espresso machine (just bought a bit different model of delonghi) so the video couldn't be more helpful. Really looking forward to learning more :)
Thanks so much Tom I think you are very honest man.
I really appreciate it all your advice.
Wow amazing video! Thank you for all the great info!
Glad you enjoyed it! Have a good day!
Tremendo video! Saludos desde Montevideo Uruguay.
This machine just arrived today. So grateful for the content and the channel. Bingeing.
Glad you enjoy it! Have fun experimenting!
Hi Tom, thanks a lot, absolutely amazing video.
Thank you so much for this video! I couldn't find any decent portafilter in local shops, and after your video I ordered the Normcore one with the IMS double basket. Oh man what a difference does it make! Worth every penny, I can feel so many new tastes in my espresso
That's awesome, thanks for the feedback! Have fun experimenting! Tom
Thanks, your videos are always very helpful😊
Super helpful video! Everything I was looking for after wandering crazily over the internet. All the questions answered.

Hi Tom, Your videos are the greatest! I just bought a Dedica EC680M. Here you are mentioning the shower curtain
Informative and nicely explained 👍.... Subscribed your channel
Thank you so much 🙂
Not lucky yet to own one but I had to say that your videos are one of the best videos ever that make it look very simple and motivating to get a machine. Thank you for all the efforts put in making such great videos ❤
Glad you like them! Look on the used market maybe - these can be quite cheap used. Cheers!
Thanks!
I have always loved your approach to videos. You are one of my favorite CZcamsrs regardless of content. I love how your demonstration is the main takeaway of the video, and you are there simply to deliver the content, rather than being ofer the top and "showy".
Although, I think I am realizing this is due to me being a Minnesotan, and growing up in an area with a similar personality ;)
That is so kind of you to say, thank you for your feedback! I have fond memories of ice fishing on Winnebegosh. Great fishing you got over there in Minnesota! Just hope my Packers can beat the Vikings without ARod, but I don't think so. :(
Anyway, cheers and have a good day! Tom
@@TomsCoffeeCorner Not a problem at all! I do feel rather spoiled with the fishing in Minnesota. I have great memories of the Apostle Islands, and the Bayfield Apple Fest. Also, I fear that both our teams might be taking a back seat to the Lions and Bears for a few years unfortunetly :(
Excellent review! The ability to exchange stock components for quality aftermarket ones is something that is on my checklist of potential espresso machines. It seems like espresso machines within a certain price point may have a greater threshold for variance in quality control. When you were discussing the cheaper basket and then using it, I noticed at 11:09 that the compressed coffee puck had pulled away from the side of the basket in the lower right hand corner (by your thumb), and then the subsequent channeling when it came under pressure, which makes me wonder if the basket wasn't perfectly round to begin with, or more likely that "2" stamped into the side had enough of an indent, to push against the side of the tamper. Either way, replacing the stock basket seems like a requirement because this would drive me crazy.
Super! Danke
Thanks for video! Very nice!
Dude! Thanks sooo much voor de links. I needed those IMS basket and showerscreen. Thank you!!!
You betcha - enjoy!
I don't own any coffee machines, don't plan on buying a Delonghi, but enjoyed every single point you've made.
I'm sticking around your channel, subbed.
Thanks a lot!
Awesome, thank you for the feedback!
Thank you very much for this great video!
Perfect video. I’ve had mine for a few years and I think for the price it’s one of the best in its category. My issue is finding a grinder for my budget, I have a sboly which doesn’t do fine enough 😩
Und das Video finde ich direkt nachdem ich eine Dedica geschenkt bekommen habe? Zeit direkt aufzurüsten!

Having never had a coffee machine ever I’m buying this machine based on your reviews and demonstrations. It’s a great channel and I’ve watched all your content. Very very helpful for a beginner like me👍
Thanks much for the feedback! Have fun experimenting!
I just bought the new Deduce 885, and so far I am loving it. It's a learning curve from someone who owned a Lavazza pod machine, and I am slowly getting used to it. My next upgrade is to get a bottomless portafilter and then a grinder. I am watching all your videos now :)
Awesome, thanks for sharing, and have fun!
A good grinder is a game changer combined with open portafilter.
Just bought this model from a used marketplace that was barely used and looks mint. Made my first double with milk frothed. I had problems due to the Almost Lactose free milk (while it worked, it became too foamy), seems it would lack certain proteins to make the proper consistency of milk at the right temperature. I'll invest in those upgrade items this week. Paid $140.00 cdn for the unit, I'm already in love with it.
Top vidéo Tom! Really useful! Thank you so much ! 🙂🇫🇷🙂
My pleasure! Glad it helped!
Perfect amazing superior video thank you Tom
Hi Tom, great tipps and explanations as always. We get one of these thingies tomorrow for our office, I have found it used but in very good condition on ebay classifieds for around 60 Euros - someone bought it, made a few shots, wasn't really into espresso and didn't use it further on. So there's enough budget in our coffee till left for accessories. I'm a little excited, I must admit...😃
Sounds awesome! Have fun!
@@TomsCoffeeCorner The Dedica is in really good shape. After a little reprogramming (cup volumes were far from set well) and some grind tests with a fine Andraschko espresso and using your top tips, it produces lovely shots with crema as thick as whipped cream... this was a lucky bargain. Thanks for the good advice!
Interesting bit about how to turn the flashing lights off! I have been using an alternative I found out for years now, it’s as simple as switching the machine off, waiting 5 seconds and turning it back on. But yours is cooler and I’ll take it any day !
Nice! Thanks for the feedback!
Hey Tom, I’m new to the coffee game, I’ve just bought one of these Dedicas on your recommendation. Now wanted to say thanks for this guide too! Keep it up.
Thanks for your generosity, and for your feedback! Tom
Nice video Tom. I cant get enough tips regarding ec680 series. Even i think i got one because of watching too much of ur videos 😂
I bought nearly the same machine + accessory without watching your video. However I bought the ec885 and I am getting brilliant milk foam out of the box. Because of a useable tamper and milk can included, those 50$ more is a good investment.
The grinder which goes fine for me is a sage barista pro.
Hi Tom, I will shortly be returning to where my Dedica is and I have bought a beautiful new bottomless portafilter, a Matow palm distributor, and a nice heavyweight tamper for it. I am also bringing along my set of scales. All of these were bought after watching your informative videos! I am hoping to get an amazing coffee from the Dedica but will probably have to source some good beans and a grinder! I will report back if the old Delonghi non pressurized baskets that I had with my old machine will fit in the new portafilter. Btw , now having used the Sage/ Breville Bambino Plus and the cheaper Bambino machines which I have set up in similar ways, I would tell anybody looking to buy between these two machines that the extra money for the Plus is definitely worth it even if you don't care about the auto frothing ( I never use it) . Everything about the Plus is better quality than the stripped down Bambino which I would not buy again if I had to it over. Just my opinion.....
A quick update- the old non pressurized baskets did not work in the Dedica but the new bottomless portafilter had one included. My advice on the Bambino Plus being worth the extra over the more basic Bambino still stands . I have being using the automatic steamer on the Plus occasionally and it can be a fun time saver- works surprisingly well!
Initially, I was disappointed with the results of this DeLonghi espresso machine I purchased last week and had planned to return it. However, after watching your DeLonghi videos , I have decided to keep the machine and upgrade it with the accessories you recommended. Thank you very much, Tom!
You always have a positive attitude and a nice vibe 👍
Thanks for your feedback, and have fun with the machine! Tom
How’d it go?
Thank you! I've had my dedica for a year, and it completely died. I found a video on how to replace the pressure valve and water pump. Did that and then discovered the double espresso basket was shot. I've been wanting a bottomless portafilter anyway but these additions I'm getting them too! I'm excited for my espresso to be even better than it was.
Excellent - hope you enjoy!
Awesome video :)
I think the best think about the pressure of these machines that people can use as a learning tool is if you're shot is choking or running super slow, you are more than likely above 9 bar and it will continue to just squish your puck until it finds a channel. For me, yucky or slow shots got better with a coarser grind size. This will limit your extraction amounts because you could potentially grind finer if you could control the pressure going beyond 9 bar and have nicer shots, but for
Totally agree Justin, thanks for sharing!
I got my Dedica in December, I'm really interested to start out purchasing some accessories. I like the way the machine works stock (I'm not a picky customer 😂) but if I could get better results for not much more investment, that's always welcomed.
I was about to curb my dedica, literally, until I realized it could be a true contender with a simple portafilter/basket replacement. So glad, because I don't have $500 lying around!
Thanks for all these tips. I'll probably buy all of these doodads
Awesome, thanks for posting!
Excellent.
Thank you for your informative videos. I own my delongi now about 2 month and just ordered a bottomless filter... I'm very curious to see and taste the difference...👍
Posted a month ago. I just picked one of these up for $10. I have no clue what I'm doing and I very much appreciate this video. I will be learning and making some espresso. I have three already ground packs that probably aren't the best but hey they were free. I was just going to try to see what I can do without an espresso machine. I just so happened to come across this one today at a garage sale. Also got a very nice grinder to go with it. I don't know if it works yet. I know the grinder turns on. I'm liking the Colectivo shirt. I sure do miss Milwaukee and all the Colectivo locations
Wow, nice! Great deal on the machine, and it's nice that you know Colectivo too! It's my favorite coffee shop in the area, that's for sure. The atmosphere and the drinks are great, albeit expensive. Part of the reason that I started on the home espresso journey. I still like to go there when I am in town.
Anyway, which grinder did you pick up? Cheers, Tom
Thank you so much❤
Great video Tom! Always appreciate you use affordable machine to pull great shots. Can you tell more about the difference between cheap basket and ims basket? I am considering to get an ims basket as i want a 18g dose of coffee.
The IMS is just better made, to a higher tolerance, and has more holes so you can likely get a higher extraction. Cheers!
Hi Tom, bought this machine week ago, I'm trying to learn about world of coffee. The problem is that shots are quick and with no crema. I'm using bottomless (generic basket) portafilter and coffee is grinded in the finest grade of a mellita grinder. With stock portafilter shots are quick but with a few more crema than with bottomless. Coffee was lavazza Rosso recently bought in supermarket and shots were well tamped. Thanks, great videos!
You’ll have a much more pleasant time if you source some freshly roasted coffee. Means you don’t need to grind so fine. Supermarket coffee will almost never tell you when it was roasted. Aim between 8-10 days after roasting, and then to use it before 4-6 weeks after roast date
I liked this video very much, so complete with demos, features and understanding about our Delonghi Dedica.
Tks for sharing with us!
I have a Timemore C2 grinder, could you explain how many clicks to adjust for Expresso ? I usually set it to 10 clicks.
Tks in advance!
Hi there! I had a Timemore Chestnut, and ran that at 7-8 clicks. You just have to experiment and find the taste you like. Try to aim for a double yield of the coffee, in 25-30 seconds, and adjust to taste.
My Dedica, which I bought last year in Athens, Greece, has a horrible steam wand--it is for clueless people and I haven't found a trick so that I can use it for microfoam which I usually easily make with other machines (I also have a gaggia but I modified that wand with a rancilio steam wand). Thank you for any steaming tips if one has the bad steam wand!
My dedica, just started a new life in my holiday house. Following a break not using the machine for several months, return was amazing!! Rich, tasty, juicy, with very good extraction!! Receipt, 18 gr in 45 gr out. Fillowing flat white removing pinarelo ...
Awesome, glad to hear it!

Hey Tom! Just today I brewed my 1st espresso with this model and I immediately jumped to CZcams for tips, which lead to me finding your channel (I'm so glad I did)! Thank you for the plethora of videos on how to brew the best coffee possible!
I also found a lot of people trashing the Dedica online which was disheartening to say the least. So I'm here to ask, do you think this model can compete with the more expensive ones, provided one indulges in some good equipment and immerses themselves in practice?
Thanks a lot!
Sure, with practice, any machine will give better results, provided you are using freshly roasted beans and a decent grinder. Have fun!
@@TomsCoffeeCorner thank you! I'll be sure to get into it and try my best then! ☺️
Hey Tom, your videos are helping me get the most out of my Dedica machine. Thank you! One question I have been struggling to find an answer to is whether or not you can get a good shot from the Dedica using Illy espresso ground coffee? (I appreciate you can get better coffee with freshly ground coffee). I see a few people complaining that the Illy espresso grind is super fine but would love to hear your experience
Probably not, because that pre-ground is usually MONTHS old, and therefore has lost its freshness even before opening the bag.
Very informative video! Can you tell me what tamping stand/surface you’re using in the video?
That's a Motta tamping station. Cheers!
Savage video dude. I have the same machine but since I switched to open portafilter I can see a lot of “spray” or “channelling” which is super annoying. I’m gonna upgrade to the IMS basket as I can’t seem to find what else it could be. 😮

Hi Tom, your videos are the most informative ever! Love 'em! Question: On this Dedica EC680M, can the pressurized puck w/handle be switched off with the non-pressurized accessory you recommended EIFOCWCY with the wooden handle?
Hi there! I don't totally get the question. But yes, you can do a non-pressurized extraction with a bottomless PF and traditional basket. Good luck!

thx for that comprehensive overview.. Additional information: the Shower made by IMS Type DL200NT does NIT fit with the Dedica 885, for what reason ever... is that correct ? look answer below - it fits!
It fits just fine on my Dedic. Cheers!
Thanks for the informative video, to the point & well done. What is good grinder to make best grind for De Longhi EC685.R?
I'd check out the Fellow Opus or Baratza ESP.
Once again a high quality video from you. It provides a good summary of how to get started with the machine.
How old is your machine and which parts have you already changed?
On mine, the pressures on the sieve are much lower.
Oh this one is already old, but I switched out the OPV and overhauled the pump. So it is back up to proper pressure. Cheers!
Great video. I just ordered the IMS filter as the one I have been using that came with my open portafilter holder from amazon has bowed at the bottom as described in the video. The result of this is too much flow and I have to keep dialing my grinder to a finer setting which still gives me too much coffee.
Pump pressure is usually measured right after the pump where there is maximum pressure due to the thin line.
Hey Tom GREAT videos sure appreciate the info you provide. I am ready to make a purchase as a newbie to home espresso making. I have watched your video comparing the GCP to the Dedica. I am really torn I like the esthetics of both, I’m a tinkerer so doing the mods is intriguing. But I’m kind of leaning toward the Dedica with the accessories you mention in this video to learn on. Then later on up my game to a machine with PID, pressure gauge etc. logical? Or is just going direct to the GCP better, be patient, persistent, learn and keep this machine much longer with mod’s aplenty. Thanks
I think the Dedica is the perfect machine to learn on. For me, it's more forgiving than the GCP, and in Europe anyway, it's so cheap to buy. But certainly later if you are curious, the GCP is a great machine to mod. Which market are you in, anyway?
Hi Tom! Thanks for the videos, they are definitely enhancing my enjoyment of my Dedica. I am wondering of you use a non-pressurized portafilter capable of 2 streams. I enjoy making 2 shots of espresso at once using the provided filter and would like to try a non pressurized one. Definitely going to pick up a bottomless however, from what I can tell, it will only do single stream. Thanks again!
Sure thing! I see Neouza is making one now. I have used their products before, and they are good.
amzn.to/3tRYSpO (affiliate link).
nice as always. I learned how to use my dedica properly with your videos . can you provide a link to your non pressurized single shot basket please?
It's part of the Graef set, listed in the video description. Unfortunately, only available in Europe...
Love this video, I realy like to see comparrison this machine with Ariete 1381. It looks like it is the same magnufacturer as Delonghi, so I am pretty sure you going to get more from the Ariete 1381 compared with EC685 for the price.
No, the Ariete looks like the standard chinese model, like the Gevi 20 bar, Silvercrest SSMS, or Koenic. I think those all come from the same off the shelf chinese supplier. Not the same as Delonghi.
Awesome video and super informative Tom! I looked in your links for everything you used in your video but I did not see a link for the gadget you used to test your Bars of pressure. Do you have a link for that you can share? Thanks friend!
Thanks so much! I got that manometer from Edesia up there in the UK. Cheers!
@@TomsCoffeeCorner Thanks Tom! You rock as always!
Amazing video, thanks.
Any idea on unpressurized 1T alternatives (1shot expresso)?
Hi there, yes Graef makes one: geni.us/GraefSiebe
Thanks for the this video! Are these tricks applicable to the Delonghi ECov 311?
It will be similar, but that machine has a different brew group. So make sure you get the right accessories. Cheers!
Just upgraded my steam wand from your amazing video on doing so. Curious if you could use this bottomless portafilter with the double basket for single shots. Or do I require a different portafilter and basket for singles?
Thank you very much for your informative videos 🙏
You'll need a single basket for single shots, at least that's what I find, because there's too much head room above the puck if you underdose in a double basket, and the shot runs too quickly. Cheers!
Hey Tom,
Can you please suggest about capsules adapter for? Thanks for ur videos :)
Sorry, I don't know of one, to be honest. Anyone else?
Just got the dedica arte it seems OK
Hi Tom
Thanks for sharing all this knowledge with us ! It’s very helpful 😊
I have one question about tamping.
There is some espresso machine like the breville that gives a laser tool to adjust the perfect tamp height.
Do you know if there is a similar method with the dedica ?
Like the height between the puck and the top of the basket for a double basket ?
Well, you do need some "head space" above the coffee puck, below the shower screen. For me, the depth of the tamper is a good guide. The laser tool I think is kind of gimmicky, but it's free, so I am not going to knock it, but I don't think it really does anything.
Thanks for the reply.
So could you recommend an average height for the “head space” ?
I just bought an adjustable tamper to stabilize this parameter and I’m wondering how to set it properly
Hi Tom, Thank you for the concise and informative videos, you've put a lot of time into them. The tweaks to the Delonghi Dedica expresso machine appear to make a big difference. Would you recommend the same triple upgrade of the Showerhead, IMS basket with Normcore Bottomless upgrade for the La Specialista Maestro as well?
Heck yeah! Just be careful to choose the right Normcore, since the 3 tabs on the La Specialista are different from the Dedica. This is the right one: amzn.to/3Di2gvs
@@TomsCoffeeCorner Thanks, I appreciate the quick reply!
Which of the IMS Baskets, the 24, 26 or 32?
@@Mitchell34604 I like the H26. It just refers to the depth in mm, which reflects the amount you can put in there.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner Thanks again, Purchased the shower head, bottomless portafilter with both the 26 and 32 and I'll let you know how it goes. Trying for Ristretto style extractions. Any tips as to how best accomplish this will be appreciated!

Hi Tom I was considering buying a Delonghi ECP 33.21 and saw your video of the Dedica! Would the Dedica be a better choice out of the two?
Thanks for your great videos .. cant wait for a decent coffee ☕

IMS basket and a decent tamper. Cheers!

No, I have only tried the medium sizes. Cheers!
Really helpful and clear video!!😊 Question.. I've been looking at the Timemore C3 ESP, is this appropriate? Or even the Kingrinder 6? Since the Kingrinder 4 is apparently discontinued 😢 Thanks!! 🙏🏼
Idk, I prefer Kingrinder over Timemore for grinders. Get the K6. Coffee Nerd Aaron made a great video about it. Cheers!
@@TomsCoffeeCorner thank you I'll check that out! Shame because I think the Timemore grinders are stunning!
I really enjoyed your video, but I have one question. I have bought a bottomless portafilter but I get a very uneven extraction and lots of random squirts of coffee to the point that it was better to use the 'stock' portafilter. I don't use a wdt and I don't grind my own coffee. Will using a wdt resolve my problem? Thank you
Hey Tom! Love your channel and all the test you do testing the machines to get answers for everyone. Cannot wait to get it going and use all your tips in other videos. Which gives the best milk froth of these two coffee appliances before I buy our 1st coffee machine ever. The DeLonghi Dedica Maestro EC900M or the Delonghi Dedica Maestro PLUS EC950M is it worth the price difference?
Hi Adeline, I wish I knew! Those two models are only available in Australia. The latter of the two includes automatic milk frothing, but I prefer steaming manually, so I'd go with the first myself.
Ok, thank you Tom for helping. Decision time for us! @@TomsCoffeeCorner
Bought the "Delonghi Dedica Maestro PLUS EC950M" only so the people in my house can have auto frothing of the milk(teenager here lol 🤭) and so impressed with it!! Got it on the black friday promotions here and I love using it on manual mode for frothing the milk myself, more fun to create. The auto milk frothing function is more impressive in the result than I thought it would be.
Gonna check out your extras today to juice it up better for more creme' in the expresso shot itself!
Q: How do you get the coffee puk basket out after use, without using a little tool to pry it open on the hole edge, please?
Thank you for all your videos which gave me confidence in buying this product with your coffee knowledge and showing everyone the cons and pros of all the brands, and how to make a perfect coffee! 🙌🙏 THANK YOU TOM!
@@adeinewallacephotography Excellent! I am happy to hear that you're happy - now you just need to send me one to Europe, and I'll pay you back. ;)
Sigh - I wish these were available in the USA or Europe...
PS - I just shake the puck out with a wrist flick, or bang them out on a puck knock box.
@@TomsCoffeeCorner Lol I have to save up for that! Maybe an Australian Delonghi representative could arrange it? Since sales from you to them are working.
Thank you for answering my question, a wrist flick(ok) and bang it out on a puck knock box(got it). I had banged it out also. Thank you for advise. I pray for you to get one 🙏🙌
Thanks Tom. I'm having an issue lately with the dedica with side channeling. Mine is fully modded but it didn't happen before. No amount of wdt changes anything. Coffee still tastes good though but it's messy. I'm thinking about a puck screen.
Try the paper filter puck sandwich method
@@alinaqirizvi1441 Will do. It remains that I'm yet to find cheap 51 mm paper filters. It doesn't seem like it, but it adds up.
you can see that Tom is getting channeling as well
It really seems to have a lot to do with the beans, and grinder performance. When I use Dinzler Roma, I practically never get side channeling.
Using paper filters on the bottom can help to reduce channeling, but I find the espresso comes out a bit too watery at first...
Hi Tom,
Thanks again for a very nice and useful video!
I am wondering about the different bottomless portafilters you suggest. Following the links you give, I see three brands: Normcore, Joytata and Fenteer. Would you say that one is better than the others?
And what about the tamper: is there a brand that you would recommend?
I long to see your advice...!
Robin
Hi Robin, I prefer Normcore and Neouza. Tampers are a personal thing. Normcore is good, but I feel that they will all get the job done. Choose one that looks nice and is in your budget.
Very informative, learned a fair bit so thanks for that. My question is the following. Are there options out there that will let you brew in 200+ ml cups (like Nespresso Vertuo 230ml) using your own ground coffee? I'm currently using a Vertuo pop but reusing the capsules and filling it with my own fresh grounded coffee blend. When it works it tastes great but the machine is a hassle to work with this way and has lately been causing a lot of problems. I guess the result I'm looking for is like a big big lungo. I'm not after "Americano". I hope you or someone else can give me some pointers, thanks in advance :)
Hi sir, first of all thank you very much for your videos, they are super usefull! I just bought this espresso machine and I watched almost all of your videos. I have a question regarding the steamer. I noticed that you didn't put a link to this aftermarket steamer, so I was wandering if you could let me know where can I buy it? Also, is the foam that better then with the factory one (I removed the metal part, and using rubber one as you suggested). Thank you very much in advance for your reply!
Hi there! All I did was remove the panarello to reveal the rubber tip, and I secured it in place with a zip tie. Cheers!
do l have to clean the basket and portafilter every time l make a shot of expresso?
I got mine yesterday, the basic shot from pre grounded Lavazza Coffee was pretty good ! Why think so much about all these accessories?
Hi tom, first of all, thank you. I have a DeLonghi machine and your videos have been very educational. I have one question about the leak problem. I use bottomless portafilter but some beans are making leak some beans are not. also, I using a timemore c2 grinder. do I need to adjust the grinder for all beans? Or do I need to change parts on my machine?
Do you mean channeling? You might need to check your puck prep, or make sure you are using freshly roasted beans. Check these videos for a reference:

Hi Tom. Have you tried some attachable nozzles to replace the original panarello?
I mean in order to get better steam without the lengthy process of changing the whole steam wand for a Rancilio One. Would like to see a video of that attachable steam nozzles. Thanks.
I did try that once, but it wasn't a good fit on all machines. Maybe I will revisit that...
Great video. What grind do you use with this machine?
When I take espresso-like grind the machine can't properly push water through it. I guess there is not enough pressure and it is too tight
Just coarsen the grind if that’s the case. 😊
