usually it is chewed and spit out the remains afterward. The hawker stalls often have warm sugar cane for sale in winter. Obviously not healthy with a half hour long sugar chewing session plus may break a few teeth in the process.

To help you add some information, China has been building a "new countryside" in recent years. The state has invested trillions of funds in rural "heavy assets" (housing, roads, water, electricity, network and logistics) to make up for the differences between cities and villages. Molly's cousin is not only a volunteer, but also a person similar to the operator. If the tourism industry here is developed, he will also get corresponding returns (direct income or promotion). This is the strategic development direction China has found in the current situation of excessive urban density.

My elder sister is like Jasmin´s cusin. My sister works for the goverment. Her job is also to help the poor village to get richer. She had been stayed in a remote village in Yunan Province for three years now. The village is so remote and it is not convinient for our family to visit her. From her wechat info, the village changed a lot by far. Her job is not only to help build the roads, renovate their homes together with other two colleagues, but also to train them to get to the know the world outside their village. Now they have internet and starts to sell local foods by internet. They have had a ´post office´ in the village where locals can ship their fresh food to near cities or even around the country. My parents bought some fruits from them and it is so tasty, much better than what we can get from supermarkets. I am living in Denmark. Though it is inconvinient, someday i would go to visit that village my sister spent her energy in. Wish they can get rid of poverty soon.

The way they made the brown sugar, was also adopted by the Chinese diaspora in West Borneo, Indonesia until mid-80s, remember bought this type of brown sugar when I was a kid for Mom to made some desserts, the shape were either in a square block a size of box matches or circular ice hockey pug.

Wow such a beautiful video as usual of course. I really enjoy listening to the young lady sing it is so soothing to the ears. May I ask, does Jasmine have a CZcams account that she also post to? I enjoy her interaction with you as well as her fluent speaking of the English language. And it interest me very much that she transitioned so well between Mandarin and English.

Honestly, this village can pack them in jars and partner with a coffee shops.
And goats' milk is another thing that can go with coffee too!

Another entertaining and culturally enriching vlog. Hope Banwan village thrives in perpetuity. The women's clothing craftsmanship is extraordinary.
The division of labor within the Banwan village seems like it has worked well for generations.
Amy continues to prove she's more Asian than Jasmine when it comes to spicy foods. Liked how Amy shared her first experience biting into a sugar cane stalk. Jasmine's quick witted humor continues to impress.
One of my take aways is that the Banwan village has an abundance of "wild peanuts " 😉
