    I was looking at sheds like these last fall, for a 3 season room. These are beautiful. If I was a young person I would totally consider living tiny - even if only to save for several years towards a more conventional home. I know my boys would love a cottage, and I would look to buy land and go this route 'til you can afford a bigger structure. Heck - you're outside 80% of the time anyway - you just need somewhere to bath, sleep, cook and get away from rain and bugs. The best home is a mortgage-free home.

  • @doeeyes394
    @doeeyes394 Před 5 lety +7

    I love this last one. Although I worked construction for many years, I'm no longer able to build or life much due to a broken neck.
    This building would be perfect for me as I get older. For the livingroom, i would either go with a Murphy bed or do a custom twin size bed that I'd make more on the order of a daybed. This would give me a good mattress to sleep on and when it's made up with a few extra pillows can be a couch during the day. This would leave enough room for a nice rocker recliner , a coffee table and an entertainment center. I'd try to find space for a couple of pullout clothes racks behind the day bed and it would have a couple drawers on the other side with another pullout clothes rack ( for jackets) and on each end of the the daybed I'd have pull out drawers under the head and foot of the bed/couch. This would be easily made out of skids.
    Only problem is finding a place where this would be legal to live in....

    I want one !!! The finished one for me is best I'm a old sick woman fighting for my disability benefits...but if I had known thirty years ago that I would become sick and unable to work I would have put all my money into a small piece of land and bought one of these. I wish the finished one also had a loft but other then that its perfect. I may have tried to cut some costs.. Less expensive tolit, counters, smaller shower but otherwise perfect and I wish I could go back into time and set "re-do" I'm currently living in a mobile home thats paid but is in serious need of repairs that isent worth the money even if I had it and I'm stuck paying 500 a month for lot space. Its cheap "rent" compared to most other places but I'm stuck here and I'm too sick to change anything. So if anyone reads this and your a young adult...I say...

      TheStevenbennett true, I live in Ohio so finding a cheap fixer upper wouldn’t be too hard. However looked like she’s in Texas. Depending where at finding a cheap house is next to impossible. So this would be the cheapest option if you like in a state or city where any house is going to be beyond most people’s budget. So in a large city a 100,000+ house isn’t possible but a 40,000 might be the next option

Don't say Futon...those are the same as a pull out couch. Murphy Beds are awesome! You put a great mattress on it and some comfy sheets....and it all gets tucked away (if you want) when you have company to open up the floor. I would put a stackable washer/dryer where you said the fridge goes...and a fridge where you said the stove/oven goes. I would either get a nice double electrical burner for my countertops, a big toaster/oven and have one kick-ass grill outside. My husband couldn't believe the price of the finished shed. You can't find those prices here in South FL.

    Hey Crockers!
    I liked the finished shed - LOVED the upper level windows to let in all the light!! I've never seen that in another shed build either. Also loved the soft close drawers, slides, and cabinets. I would change the layout a bit though. Where the kitchen is I'd put a small bedroom so you can close it off when company's over, change the kitchen to a more open version in the main part of the house and since it's a "tiny" house you'd just have a sofa and maybe use a bookshelf/murphy bed set-up for a guest bed. Just maybe how I'd change it up a little.

      My Aunt and uncle sold there farm and moved to Nials Canyon California where Charly Chaplain once lived and made film's there. They had a custom tiny home built made for disable bathroom shower you could roll a wheelchair in. In hers front room she had windows like that let plenty of light in the front room it was a 3 bed room home I kinda remember the bed rooms not being to small. It was built in a trailer park but a very well kept it had a community swimming pool and a nice size hall if you had a large crowd of guest people can meet in the hall.
      $30 grand is really not that much money for a already built home and easy to maintain paint roof dusting it could always add on to it with a 2 car garage and build a room on top of the garage just add a stair case and a door to get in the garage. There is a small home next door to my home that looks like it could have been a trailer at one time they just put siding on it with a porch and built a one car garage with a low ceiling room on top of it. The last person that ownd the house had raised the roof on the up stairs room.

For 50 K you can get 2 baths, and 3 bedrooms etc... 240 sq feet all finished is about max for under 20K. In 5 years you'll wished maybe you thought more into the future, maybe?

    Wow! I really like that last shed to pad. I think it looks like it would be perfect for me and my best friend (with the waggily tail). It's beautiful and sturdy, nice doors n stuff, and it even has a tub. I really like it. If I could find somewhere nice to put it id be in heaven. Somewhere I could have a little grassy back yard with a few pretty plants and flowers then I'd be set. I would love to build a wall of some kind around the whole perimeter for privacy and security and so I could chill in my little back patio, light a little bonfire at night and just sit and watch the stars. Aside from finding a good man to share my everything with, I just't imagine what more I could ever want... except for maybe a garage/work shed, but that's alright i'm sure I could get used to not having a that. Well worth it to be debt free.

    I'm surprised they are charging $4k for the mini split system with only one head. I bought one 6 months ago that's an 18,000 instead of the 12,000 in that one, and I have 3 heads and my complete system was only $2,400 total, and I think the kitchen at $4,900 was a bit steep also but everything else was good. I don't know exactly how they work, but I've seen a bookcase that comes out a bit then pivots so it's like having 2 bookcases in 1. Great idea/project for tiny house living. $30 grand is not that much for a almost finished home's $100 grand you can have a small town built. I watch this retired school teacher build a whole western town in his back yard with barber shop, store, saloon hotel on the top floor, stable for small pony chickens, sheriff office with jail he built all that in 8 year's made from scrap wood that would have been through away. These are nice, for the price of a car or even a used car, you can own your own home, and quite often as you have shown, even better than apartment living, you could probably heat or cool the entire house by running that small unit for about 5 minutes or less, awesome. Thank you for sharing all the leg work involved, it is much appreciated by those serious buyers. We just need more places to put these homes, permanent lots to rent as mobile home parks have their own strict criteria for placing homes on their lots etc, so if you do not own a lot or otherwise have a lot to place your home on, I just WISH we had communities where these could be placed hassle free, thanks again, you guys are awesome.
