This Tiny House is FULLY off grid. I used rain water for the sink and shower, and a gas generator to power the house. The fireplace is ELECTRIC, so the TV is 100% ok above it! Make sure to check out our 60 ACRE Property we just bought! czcams.com/video/m8fa4XHJYwQ/video.html
You are amazing. All your family are - here’s to the future x 💕
So generous to give Jared land for free. Hope he gets something for his building$$ when time comes he moves or gets married and moves.
closing one chapter, to start a new life with Danielle on 60 acres with Jared.
Danielle can you find Jarred a nice girlfriend?
@@pamallcorn4066 Danielle must have some single girlfriends for Jared
As a retired Construction Supervisor, I can see a real problem with not using a vapor barrier behind the drywall and the metal interior roof covering if you live in a cold climate and heat the house. If this is so, after about 6 months the insulation will be very wet and will support mold growth.
What is a vapor barrier?
And in the shower. Former insulator here, and the shower gave me huge concerns. I know the brown backing on the insulation may be considered a vapour barrier but it literally takes 2 minutes to hang some poly. Especially since there didn't seem to be provision made for the joins in the wall materials. In my opinion it's worth whatever it takes to get someone out there to do spray foam on the entire envelope.
This is why I would rather buy a basket case building of any sort than something remuddled.
I live in Ohio & I imagined water dripping off of the ceiling lol... it looks like they're in a warm climate. If its dry also, maybe mold isn't an issue. It can't be that dry if he uses rain water collection.
Yup. Fun watch but some moments a guy just looked away to avoid cringing.
In the South, the vapor barrier is toward the inside of the building envelope, and the kraft face of the insulation, if installed correctly (which they did, with the tabs overlaping on the face of the studs), provides enough of a vapor barrier to meet code in most areas.
My main concern is that shower, with cedar boards nailed directly to untreated subsurface boards. I see mold and mildew issues in the near future. At the very least a peel-and-stick membrane over the subsurface would have been nice. And the cedar boards themselves probably should have been beveled to shed water. For good measure, after being cut and dry-fitted, they could have been pre-treated on all sides before install, followed by a final treatment over the puncture holes after install.
I think we may disagree on what constitutes an "Abandoned Shed."
It looked pretty new to me
Thought the same thing
Agree. That 'shed' is bigger than my house lol
Dude. There was nature overgrowth all around the outsides. The inside was bare and absolutely trashed. Clearly nobody had been in there or used it in years. What else do you think the word "abandoned" means
@@shanebreezy4453 that overgrowth could have grown in one season after they moved the shed there
Very nice! THANKYOU FOR NOT PLAYING THE ANNOYING MUSIC! It takes away from the beautiful work that you are doing!
Cosmetically it turned out fantastic. But I fear that you're going to have a major mold/moisture problem with that shower if you use it regularly. Anyway, great video.
I fear for his eyeballs lmao. You can see the safety squint in action at 10:27. Eye protection is the easiest/cheapest safety gear out there.
What do you feel is the concern with his process? I'm doing "mad" research on tiny home builds for my future.
@@cheleb4672 they both answered your question? Lol 😂
@@cheleb4672 No moisture barrier behind the concrete backerboard, no sealing seams in the corners of the backerboard, no waterproofing of the backerboard, and no waterproofing of the concrete floor. A $100 bucket of HydroBan would have prevented the inevitable water destruction he's going to experience from the first shower. All his work on that shower was for nothing. He will now spend more redoing the shower than he would have doing it right the first time. Forget the cedar, water is going to intrude behind that backerboard and under the shower and will rot away at studs, the outer wall, and the floor.
@@CrazyGuyBlahBlah thank you for your response. I appreciate your time.
Clear coated cedar for shower walls? Seriously, hope that works out. I'd be concerned with longevity and despite the sealer, mold. Rest of the project was super fun to watch! 👍🏼👍🏼
Didn't see any kind of water shield behind it either, looks like it's going to be a nightmare of rotten wood and mold in a few months. Tho i didn't watch the full video of the shower install, so maybe it was skipped?
I think cedar is mold and mildew resistant. I know they use it in saunas but not sure if it would work for a full on shower. Maybe?
@@TheRogueBro I think green board but yeah, that can't be a good idea. I thought he was gonna run the tile up the walls.
I think they mixed up the tin sheeting and the cedar boards; should have used the tin in the shower and the board on the ceiling!
@@gizzyguzzi yeah this is exactly what I thought! the tin sheets also make the room a lot more echoey than the wood would have and it looks bad too. Some people might like it, but it just isn't for me. Then the wall in the loft seems, lacking in a way... anyways, my point is that making the wall would have been a lot easier if the roof had been smooth with boards rather than it being covered with the wavy tin (I don't like the gaps left between the roof and the wall)... Now all of this of course personal opinion and they can and will do whatever they want haha, I just like to critique. I was simply interested because I'm curious about home designing 😊
You guys did a beautiful job on the outside. Excited to see the rest I've watched several of your projects, you make your mama proud.
Best thing about it is thank you for not putting annoying music. Enjoyed the video even more.
Thank you for not explaining everything to death and just showing us how you did the remodel. Awesome build. I wish more channels were like this.
Oh yeah
Yes!!! I was thinking the same thing!
What he said!^^^^ I couldn't agree more. I thought I was the only one who couldn't stand that is videos. Half the time I fast forward through them, just to get through all the chitter chatter.... lol. Awesome JOB!!! Can't wait to see the 60 Acre property -
For real 😳
Eh skipping explanations is fine until you actually try and build something. I'm guessing you don't have much experience building and are clueless as to what the major code violations in this build even were. Still great for entertainment which I guess is what you are after.
That was so amazing! I wish I had followed in my parents footsteps! Mom drew the floor plans & Dad did the building!
Hello Judy, how are you doing?
I really enjoyed watching this progression. Just straight through without wasted time for us in watching. My husband would love to do a project like this. He is the creative builder, manufacturer, leather worker ( sorry, but I love to brag about him.) Guess I could paint and do odd jobs. I loved how wonderfully you three are at working together. Family is great. Thank you for sharing this part of your life. God Bless!
Absolutely incredible transformation! Love the no music just construction sounds. If only it could have happened in 20 minutes! Tons of hard work, great editing and it turned out so beautiful! Congratulations on a great job!👍💯🌺
I’m really going to miss the Off Grid Property!! I’ve spent 2 years watching you develop this land-- sad you will be leaving it, but I am also excited to move on with you to the 60 acres. You & Danielle working together toward a common goal is priceless!!! Blessings! 💜
Hi, where is your property that you are leaving
I am looking for tiny house and land off grid
Contact Jason Crocker- his Off Grid Property is in Oklahoma- outside of a small town “Kansas” - which is NE Oklahoma by a river.
Little Kansas? I know exactly where that is, I don't live to far from there....I live in good Ol Jay merica lol
Did I miss it? Insulation?
That shed to house came out awesome. I never thought of using a wood shower enclosure before. Great idea on the wooden shelves for the bathroom.
Beautiful. Takes pride in his work! Why can’t I find a guy as drive. And talented as him!!!🥹
It's nice to have all the tools make it go by faster and easier
I really liked how you opened up the porch.
Loved this video. Great editing too! This build came out gorgeous and someone who buys the land will love it. It's a great way to end this chapter for you.
Someone will snag this up quick! Y’all did a fantastic job.
Thank you so much for your message and the link. This is the good side of social media helping the common people speak out for horrible wrongs or participate in helping people some where on the other side of the world. You help by sharing the story but then sharing a plan of action. Thank you for this.
Perfect without the music! The sound of the nail gun, saw and hammer makes the video more interesting! Tiny home came out beautifully!
I have watched you from the tent days and it’s been a pleasure being on this beautiful journey with you, we all know it was hard and you had some tough times but you achieved so much and now it’s time for someone else to take over and I can’t wait for the next chapter x ❤️🇬🇧
As I watch this video all can say is wow! I don’t know anything about building but it’s amazing to watch and makes me feel like I can do this and definitely sparks my interest! Thanks for recording y’all working usually we just the the finish and the decor but this was awesome to watch from the true beginning! Thanks . Gives great inspiration!! Way to go!
Thank you, Shakita! That means a lot to us, and we did the video to hopefully inspire others!
It's Perfect, You all did a great job making into a Tiny Home I would love to call it home. ❤
You guys renovated the old house so beautifully I almost didn't recognize the old house after you guys renovated it
That shed to house was beautifully done. Hope the property sells quick. You and Danielle were really generous to help out Jared. That's what family is about, love The Crockers.
nice compliments, but if its a cold climate he will have both plumbing and mold issues and need to start from scratch with some nasty demo.
He sells these properties? They LOOK really great but the quality and corner cutting will cause this house to have some serious problems VERY quickly. I do very much like his video quality and his decoration type but the actual build quality needs to be much better because if I bought this house I would feel scammed.
I love how easy you made it look! There were no crazy complicated explanations or distracting music. Just a quick "this is what you could do" and it came out amazing.
The problem is he did make it look easy. If you do some study on construction you'll see some major flaws. I'm telling you, don't build this way,🤔🤔🤔
He
@@servraghgiorsal7382 I actually do know quite a bit about construction. It's kinda my job. But, THIS isn't about that really. It's just an example of what could be done. Not how to do it.
no way this was done in under 20 minutes, this is such a lie...at the least 2-3 days and that is almost at it at 24 hrs a day.
@@servraghgiorsal7382 Once again that depends on where you build, if YOU knew anything about construction you'd know this. Alot of the South/Southwest/West forbids Vapor Barriers because of the heat and humidity, all Vapor barriers do in extreme humidity is hold the moisture in and in the heat all they do is sweat and create moisture. Just because you live in the middle of Minnesota where and it's 3 weeks of summer doesn't mean you know anything about the rest of the country.
I love your house. What a great example of making something great from nothing. Enjoy your new home 💖
You make it look so easy! My daughter and I did her shed to house and holy cow! That was definitely labor intensive! We did shiplap the whole interior and made a bedroom but we didn’t do a bathroom since she’s 15 feet from my front door. It’s always an option down the road. You guys did an amazing job! Well done!
It looks easy because he cut every corner that he could. This is NOT how to build a home.
I just did the same thing for my GF's daughter, she's in college and only comes home on long weekends and holidays, I bought an old 16' camper from a buddy of mine that was basically gutted and we just built it into a big bedroom with a little hang out area with a bed, desk so if she needs to do school work while she's here. It doesn't have a bathroom nor a kitchen because it's literally across the deck from our tiny house but it does have a mini fridge and microwave if she wants to snack while there. She just wanted and needed a place to have some alone time in and to have quite time for school work while she's here. As she said it's nothing special but it's perfect.

Y’all did a great job! I saw a video where someone put concrete down on the shower stall floor & just put down different size of pebbles (rocks they collected from a creek). It looked really cool. Wish i would’ve done that instead of putting down tile myself.☹️
Freaking amazing. Love the horizontal boards. And the cedar for the shower is a guts move. But I have seen it done and it has kept nicely. I see these “sheds” all the time and think that there is so much potential into making them into little stay over spots or to make small shelters for homeless.
Or as a viable choice! I'd happily live in one of these and I'm not homeless or looking for a stay over spot!
Oh Man, I could live in this cute little building. Love the porch.
If only you posted this 5 years ago. Beautiful work. I needed this.
I love these time lapse videos. Hope you are creating playlists for the Shootdang Ranch ready for the kids one day to watch. Key is organizing filing system now in the lap top or the icloud etc 💕
Beautiful job! I didn't know that you could put cedar wood in a shower. Love the modern look.
I LOVED watching this video!!! You are a VERY talented young man and I am so impressed! Awesome job. You turned this shed into an adorable, functional home. I was wondering what you were going to do with that big slab-- but I was pleasantly surprised when you were putting up the corner shelves-AWESOME JOB!!! I LOVE YOUR NEW HOME. 👍😂 GOD BLESS YOU and your "new home "
The tin roof+ rain hitting said roof= best nights sleep ever!!
If it's insulated properly, you won't hear much of it.
We just finished watching Jared's live video and just finished watching this one... freaking amazing finished product!!!!! Awesome job !!!
Wish I could build something like this to be closer to my parents and take better care of them. Housing prices are insane here at the moment. This was a lovely project. Thanks for sharing.
The sheds similar to this one aren't horribley priced about 12,000 usd & to make a full conversion around 15,000-17,000 total. & thats all brand new. There's always the option to use different materials & appliances to save on money.
Move in w them, I loss my parents and step parents very young and went into fostercare. K wish I knew what have parent was like,go to th ed m or you will regret it!!
@@kimgow7671 I am truly sorry for your loss and what you had to deal with. As much as I want to, I am not able to move in with them. I am close though. Thank you.
My husband and I are buying land & a upgraded 16 ×40 shed, (16in on center studs, 12in on center floor joists like a regular home). It's significantly cheaper than building a regular house.
$1.9 k a month rent go brrr
Thanks for the experience! Very awesome. Learned a lot from this to apply to my cabin projects.
Look at what we can create when there's creativity, love & inspiration in our minds. Beautiful job my friend! 👍🏻

I love this build y’all. Looks great, fun, and inspiring.
Woah I LOVE the effect of that tin roof ceiling! It reflects a lot of light, and looks more unique than most builds I've seen. Great work y'all!
Will the tin be hot in summer & cold in winter? It sure looks fantastic.
Until condensation makes the insulation moldy....
What a freaking amazing conversion! The entire house is absolutely beautiful. I love how well the choices of paint and stain complement each other. Congratulations to the 3 of you. Can't wait to follow you on the new property!!
This brought tears to my eyes very beautiful
That came out beautiful… simple but perfect
That was incredible! It would have to be to keep my attention for the whole thing with no fast forwards! I'm a 62 yrs. old woman who wishes she had a few of you men in my family and a tiny home of my own. Not in the middle of nowhere though. I'd be too scared! Lol

Hello 👋 dear ,how are you doing?
You gentlemen are certainly talented as heck....cant wait to see what y all do at your new ranch. Peace😉
Talk about a dream house. So many cool ideas. The dog didn't get any credit 😂😂
OMG that is the coolest tiny house. I fell in love when you put the little stove in. I want that little house.
These little buildings make a great starting point for such projects. You all did a fine job with this build and presented it well, too. There's really not anything terribly difficult to do here, so long as one researches any skills/materials with which they're not familiar. Good job and nice ideas!
What a great job you did, Jason. With Danielle & Jared's help. You should have no problem selling this off grid property! I am watching you start on your new property. I think it's so neat that you offered Jared acreage to move there to be debt free. That is an act of love for your brother, I'm sure he will earn it though, he is a hard worker! You both are go getters and will make a beautiful place on Shootdang Ranch for your respective homes. Love all you Crockers, and wish the very best for all of you. You make my day when I get to watch your videos come up!
Great job. We just bought one, I hope it looks as good as this one when finished.
I like this style video. 100% no waiting or 10 different videos. Just all at once. Thanks for this. 🙌🙌
Thought it was cool but doesn't look very functional. Didn't see fridge, stove or cooling element...but it shows how much potential a shed has to be converted. Great job!
The sink is a darn JOKE..
@@servraghgiorsal7382 Its a standard camper sink.. lol what more do you need lol he has no stove so not gonna be washing pots and pans haha
Doesn’t have a bed either
The bathroom has no tiles or any serious Waterproofing.
Just coating the cedar ain't it.
The insulation will get wet and there will be black mold in a few months.
And the metal under the roof...bad In winter. Catastrophe in summer.
They are handy men.
But they clearly don't know about and shouldn't be construction.
If they selling these places, which I think they do, lawsuits will follow
It's off grid.
Really worried about the shower and there being no barrier between the cement board and wood, can see the insulation getting moldy within a month or so 😬😬
there is no water proofing any where . i give it a year not more
@@MrMaxnc I agree! The whole thing will be a moldy mess in a year! I saw too many things to even waste my time listing them all. 🙄 Lol
House I'm working on now is over 40 years old and has no barrier and there is no mold.
He did pan the shower floor but newer codes require a pitch to drain before laying pan liner. I've done dozens of remodels for just this reason. A few years and his floor will rot from pooling water under the concrete. Not so worried about shower walls since he ran liner 12" up wall and used backer board before finishing with cedar (mold resistant) and applying a sealer.
@@bludaizee24 Yeah I notice tons of mistakes in every build he does lol it seems like he just wings it with 0 actual research for some reason

Love the rebuild. Wish we could see it with the furniture in it. Have you thought about renting out as a vacation cabin? Also, I'm just an old woman, but shouldn't you use the special drywall in the bathroom to keep moisture where it belongs? You have skills that most of us wish we had. Keep up the good work!

Purchase of the shed and materials plus if I had to pay labor what it would cost. If you don't mind.
As expensive as building materials if I had to guess in the thousand$ as far as labor costs that's gonna depend alot on if you have access to amish or just a economically desperate area .
