You should invest in a propane tank and whole house generator cause power does go out in cold weather. I placed a pigtail 240v twist lock plug directly onto my water heater as a temporary solution when power went down. We have a fireplace that kept the house warm during Arkansas sleet/snow January 2024 cause this house was built without anything gas to fit the Terrorist Act of Biden’s New World Order! I would’ve added a propane tank and whole house generators with transfer switch and propane insta-heat water heater if we were planning on staying in this house but we are in process of moving.

Pretty much every channel that I watch has done a time lapse of what they have accomplished. I enjoy going back with them and remembering how much has changed but this one was the best I have seen. What set it apart? It was you narrating as you went, giving your thoughts on your accomplishments. This has been my absolute favorite look back. You have come so far in the last couple of years. Not just what you have created on the 41.36 but your creativity on this channel. I can’t wait to see what 2024 brings to Country Road Cure. I think it will continue to be an adventure worth watching.
SLR, CRC AND C’mon all post the same. If one does it they all do it. If they help each other on a project then prepare to see the same thing 3 times..lol. I only watch CRC now. They’re my favorite.
@gatlintoi We do try to help each other out. Roxane and I don't really film the group projects as much anymore since we know everyone makes videos about it lol. Would rather just help out where needed than film a video

My sweetie and I married in 1974 and converted a bus into a tiny home. It was fun! In 2014 we built our retirement home, we watch the sun rise on the Alberta Rockies, pink hues on the snow tops. Still living the dream with my best friend.

As I was watching this video they did not use insulation on the laundry room where all water lines and water heater were installed. They will freeze in the winter.
As a woman who was self taught in tiling, drywalling, painting in the late 70’s and 80’s, the only electrical work I did was changing the fuses in the electric box when they blew and rewiring new light fixtures! So I am absolutely gobsmacked at Rox’s wiring the entire house, well done Rox! I am in awe of your skills. I am really enjoying watching you both build your new home. ❤❤
I think wiring a house is straightforward.. I wouldnt do it tho. I know someone who's child died becuase an electrician used wrong coloured wiring.. and next one put it right way and boom.

Every couple should do it once, no one should have to do it twice. Did this adventure ourselves 30 years ago, it was a lot of hard work and character building experiences. We agreed that once was enough for such an all consuming project and moved onto growing our family. 40 years together, beautiful home and beautiful family. Couldn’t be more United or happy. Working together on projects like this is so strengthening to a relationship- my husband and I built a greenhouse out of reclaimed windows and then we built our henhouse and run… it was a lot of fun and we learned a lot

My Dad took two sheds, connected them, ran all of the wiring, plumbing, insulated it, we put boards on the walls and ceilings, it has four lofts, which they use for storage, the smartest thing he did was put them both on wooden skids so they can be moved anytime, which means the government cant charge them property taxes. Its really a beatiful property.
I guess I should say our family was in the construction business for years so we already knew how to do all of the construction work

You know... I came late to this party. I missed the whole first year or so. I absolutely LOVE what you guys are doing. A homestead that is kept in the family was the best way to build intergenerational wealth... and I believe it STILL is the best way to go. Your family has to spend enough time together that you learn to love and forbear each other through thick and thin... and as time passes the whole family looks for opportunities to increase their land holdings so that you don't run out of room. The one thing I wish you guys did on top of all that you are doing is the home school thing. You are in Arkansas though... and right now, thanks to your wonderful governor... the public schools may still be in decent shape.; but, remember that you guys set the example and there might come a time when home schooling becomes a necessity. Even in your case I think it is the better option... but at least you aren't dealing with the woke nonsense that we in the inner cities deal with here in the Twin Cities. I look forward to your uploads... tho I think you do more talking than you have to, but sometimes I find that endearing. Thanks for sharing this journey with us.
