They published it on April 6. I never could understand how anyone could accept the Red Book as a price guide when it's made a year in advance. It's useful for other information but I ignore the prices.
I just bought a 1943 steel Lincoln cent NGC MS66 from you. Arrived a couple days ago. Looks great. I only paid $45 which I thought was a steel, er steal, because it costs more than half that just to have it graded and slabbed!
Red book is great. Yet, for Nickels, Dimes, and Halves, it doesn't take into account values WITH or WITHOUT full steps, Full torch, or full bell lines. Doesn't take into account TONING, intact heads of standing Liberty Quarters...so, just be advised
It might be a collectors item, if coins have errors and worth a lot, then the 2022 Redbook might just be that valuable with an miss printed error as well.
Sooo...does that mean the 2022 red book is a rare mint mistake error collectible now ? Lol..jus kiddin..I do however wonder if there are anymore mistakes made in the red book that could cause an uprise with collectors and dealers...nice catch tho..thanks for the video Daniel😂🤔👍
Wouldn't an issue like this in a pricing guide make the 2022 cherry pickers guide a error/Variety making it more valuable? I mean Production errors are just as valuable as coin errors at times!
Thanks Daniel, I was your viewer that commented, I had already thrown away my 2021 book and had the 2022. By no means were you doing anything wrong, I bought the 67 and checked NGC, Mint State before I bought the coin and found your price of $140 very reasonable. I later checked the 2022 after I had the beautiful coin and saw their error. I just wanted you to know since you had more 67's lol.
Hi danie, its ric.ive got a couple of 1992 wide am penny my estimate grades is ranging from 62 to 65 shiny ones with double die obverse and reversed. What should I do,please reply thanks.
Somewhere in some dingy basement is a printer dude with way too much coffee, eyes bulging wondering what all the fuss is about. Im sure some late nights looking at digits and grades make mistakes like this magically appear. As long as humans and fatigue is involved, things like this will happen on occasion. Im surprised TSN hasn’t tried to sell these at the low low price of $1799( 2 easy payments of course).
Definitely a print and/or editing error on Red Book's part...glad you caught it and made it known. I sure hope someone didn't pay that much for one based on that listing...OUCH !!
Have seen the steel cents in worn condition listed on Let Go as "silver" for big money. Have seen a 1929 wheatie so worn you could barely read the date listed on Craigslist for $2,000.00 A sucker born every minute and numerous individuals standing by ready to relieve them of their wallet. With or without a book to back them up.
Redbook prices are completely ridiculous most of the time, especially in the case of lower value coins. While the book is a great guide for beginners in US coins info-wise, the prices should not be taken seriously.
@@CoinHELPu For some series/dates (like the 1921 Peace) it is fair. Though for the majority of coins it lists, the Redbook is well over auction records and online sale prices. In many cases it exceeds auction records by 30% or more (even with 2021 prices). When I go to sell I use the recent auctions on PCGS Coinfacts and Ebay as a reference. That is a much better guide for pricing than the Redbook IMO.
well Im rich!!!! lol! If that is in any way true hahahahahaha, Its not its an error, I watch them sell ALL the time $10-$25ish in MS-65 grade. I love the redbook also but this is going to cause some "issues" ....:/
Just checked the value of a MS65 1943 steel cent in my 2016 and 2019 RED BOOKS. Back then they were valued at $8. WOW!! Now valued at $2000. What an investment.. LOL
I made getting s set of 43's for the low low price you're talking about. But you'll notice after reading the sales literature, they are selling "reprocessed" coin. That's how come there are so many of the Zinc pennies around in mint state 65. they are fakes selling for $25-$30 a set. I'm finding a lot to companies selling 1 ounce "silver" coins for $18 an their add says they are .999 silver. That's the catch. People have caught on to the word "clad" and realize it's just plated. Hey for that matter, I could send you my Repossessed 1943 pennies in mint 65 condition and you'll find out they were misleading the customer. Please let everyone know.
The Mega Red 6th edition shows the MS-68 as $2000 rather than the MS-65. An honest mistake. The Red Book is relatively trouble-free compared to the Standard Catalog of World Coins - sometimes a whole series of coins have gone missing from the catalog so I always keep my older copy just in case!
I Denis I wuader if You can helpme whith this 1943 steel cents that I found in a roll of pennys 4 of them do I have to have autenticaded it seems like they have errors .or maybe I cant sended to you to sale them because you are the expert ,and you are the man the honest one . tanks amillion for your advise...
OMG! I got to look at my 1943's closer. LOL. (seriously, my 1943's are all well below MS grade so...) The key is; don't rely on ONE source. Thanks Daniel. P.S. If you are not Daniel do not comment on my comment if you are intending to comment to CoinHELPu - I am a subscriber. If you do I will delete my comment and you comment will die)
Everything is going up in value especially stuff like that! It's probably not a typo in one year things can go up anywhere from one cent to $1,000 you never know it just all depends if I were you I'd hang on to those wait and see what it says next year you might get lucky ;)
I guess the Red Book is now an error book, LOL. I mean, it happens, but like everyone ALWAYS says.....the Red Book prices are just a guide anyway. You have to see what the market is really doing at the time you want to sell.
