That's so crazy, when I lived in Knoxville this black guy would randomly turn up at my house in the middle of the night. Once he was also trying to sell a TV!! And it was an old one, like the fat, heavy ones. When I would ask his name he always said BLACK MAN. Holy cow. The police finally arrested him.

2:18 Don't assume everyone who comes to your door is a criminal. This young girl could have needed urgent help.
It seems highly unlikely that she’s in need of urgent help, especially since she didn’t ask for help.
If she needed help urgently she’d have said just that, rather than asking if the homeowners had her mom’s phone.
While it isn’t necessarily the case that everyone who comes to your door has nefarious or malicious intentions, it’s better to err on the side of caution and be careful.
