Well of course. Being apathetic and complacent is easier than problem solving and finding solutions. To know who bought up half of our housing, and how that came to be, and why there's hardly any funding for mental health care, just doesn't sit well with a third of the country. I’m a new addict to your videos. I’m in a pretty safe neighbourhood in Australia where we have never been broken in to. Our neighbour across the road has security cameras everywhere but nobody in the street has suffered a break in or crazy people knocking on the door.
We have a very large 40kg American Staffy X Pitbull that protects the family and has a mean bark too. Great deterrent just incase.

Why would they tell the people robbing the store to leave because the police are on their way? You'd think you'd want them to be caught...no???
As for the one break in in Salem, why would you tell the people who broke the window to load up their van that the police were on their way? Especially if there's no clear picture of the license plate? If the store owners waited, the thieves would have gotten caught in the act. But, since they were warned, chances of them getting caught are slim to nil. smh

My ex in laws live just off the coast of Seattle, they don’t lock their doors, they leave their cars open too! Crazy, even though we live in a medium sized northern England town crime isn’t crazy high but I wouldn’t leave my doors open. Guns are extremely rare and the closest I’ve bee to them is while we were there and the sheriffs came to shoot mountain lions who killed their peacocks, in airports and very occasionally in large cities like London. The chances of an average dodgy criminal having a gun is extremely rare thankfully

Never leave anything on the front porch. Nothing. No furniture, no bikes, nothing.
Have a steel security door.
Leave nothing in your car.
Install a motion detector light.
Have packages sent to your workplace.
Install a one way drop box for packages at your home. Perferably a steel one and bolt it into the porch or cement.
Get to know your neighbors.
Start a neighborhood block watch.
There are so many things homeowners can do to minimize porch pirates and crazies.

Either the hospitals had to improve its facilities and quality of care, or they had to be closed. No funding? No hospitals. When Roslyn Carter was FLOTUS, she championed the Mental Health Act of 1980. She worked for years to get sponsors for the bill, but no takers on the Republican side. The only reason it got passed was due to it being a Lame Duck session. Then after Reagan was inaugurated, he promptly overturned it. And no legislation for mental health care has been worked on, since.
Republicans also cut funding for public and affordable housing programs, since. The biggest cuts were in 2012 and 2014, which was when we saw the largest up tick in homelessness since Reagan was in office. And of course, insult to injury during the pandemic.
As for criminals running free, where do we place petty criminals? Are you that deluded, that you think we have copious room inside our prisons? You must be very wealthy, as you are very disconnected from reality, that you think we have so many vacancies in prison, and would rather have these addicts rot in a very expensive prison for life, rather than inexpensive mental health treatment and supportive housing until they can remain sober, hold down a job, and transition into affordable housing.
