- We got a call late in a day to get help a Sprinter van stuck in the snow and mud. The gentleman said he was fine to wait till morning. So we headed up first thing in the morning hoping the ground would be frozen. I did zero research and was sure I knew where I was going. I was half right, had I looked closer at the map I would have seen he was stuck further up the mountain than I thought and coming in from the far side would've been better. Unwilling to admit defeat and go around we kept going on and went up Rose Garden Hill. It took a little work, but Ol Blue did surprisingly well and got us up there. Once we reached the van, we threw the tire chains on the front and proceeded to pull him up to the top of the mountain where he could then carry on by himself from there. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

It always amazes me that old blue can make it up obstacles like that… it’s 100% the driver. Great job Rory 👍
Rory would probably say it's the BFGs
Totally was the tires... Lol
@@trailmaterI love your videos . Keep it up, Rory!
@@trailmater or the unnecessary front digs?
@@mathi133 He wishes he could do that in old blue!
The infectious laughter and the beautiful scenery make the Trail Mater videos priceless. Great job guys.
"This is pretty sporting for your average sprinter van" I had a great laugh over that statement! Thanks Mike!
It's clear that the "softest" part of Blue is the "nut" holding the steering wheel... And his co-pilot... Fantastic as always!!!
Going up Rose Garden hill in a wrecker, in winter, is quite a bold move. Nice driving sir!
I like the way Mike points out the sights and the landmarks along the way. I like the way Rory drives the truck. And I like the way Shawn does hand signals!
Mike has a really good feel on the shots. Lot's of vids he shows off how suspension works on terrain. Great job both of you.
Thanks for successfully showing us what not to do! LOL.. Good job Rory and Mike! 👍💯
found ya!🐿
Having a late dinner (20:03 over here in sweden) and watching two boys having fun at work... Can it be better? NO!
What beautiful country, thanks for taking us along.
Mike should be tour guide for the area. It certainly make the videos interesting.
Ole Blue really is showing her ability. 👍
My wife, son, and I were on Onion Creek a few months ago in our side by side. Conditions looked similar. We turned off onto Rose Garden Hill and decided to follow it and see how it went. We ended up turning around because I was thinking that if I blew an axle or worse, it was going to be a long walk to cell service. I can’t even imagine running that trail in a dually. Amazing!
It just goes to show you it's more about the driver than some rig that's had $100 grand dumped into it. I love the videos guys. Always a great crew with this channel.
And that is one reason the Off Road Wrecker Games are going to be a blast. That and the fact that all the folks participating in it are a hoot to watch, especially when competing.
Those high dollar rigs just have too much hp. You can't build it strong enough (&light enough) not to break anything. Anything less than 300hp is good enough for off-roading
Thanks for taking me along for the recovery with you . What a view !
Love to watch "Old Blue" paying the rent! Thanks for Sharing!
You guys are seriously the best! The type of humour and everything is just so good! Keep having fun guys it’s always a good time watching what you guys get up to!
Beautiful scenery, if it wasn't for the cold and snow I could live there.
Exactly!
I did Rosegarden hill in my stock Gladiator sport with 33s. Nobody else ever knows what the hill is, but I definitely won't forget it. I wouldn't be willing to do it in these conditions. Pretty impressive.
I'm surprise that you don't have more flat tires. Love the videos guys keep them coming.
Best recovery channel on CZcams! Mike’s camera angles are amazing! Shawn’s laugh is best in the business! Rory hauls broken rigs out of places most people couldn’t drive through empty! 👍
I love tour guides with Mike
Loved the front to rear video footage 👍😉
Best recovery channel---hands down. Just good old boys doing their thing in real time. Good to see the channel growing.
Thank you for the beautiful landscape shots that you added to my day. God bless you and your family amen and aloha
Love that 454 and the music it makes! Between that & the breathtaking scenery all I can say is thanks for taking us along!
Its a bold strategy to make that climb with open diffs and no winching, but you nailed it sir.
Watching you wheel around in old blue is probably the most entertaining thing I have ever seen. Takes me back to wheeling with my dad in a 2wd highboy Ford, where I would be worried we would be walking out before each obstacle. That's some fine fine driving!
I have never heard of a 2wd Highboy. I'm pretty sure it wasn't an actual Highboy unless someone took the transfer case, and front end out of it. Or was the 4wd just broken?
A 2wd factory highboy? Or did he have to do It himself
@@wesman7837 Yeah the front drive shaft from the transfer case had smoked u-joints. Pulled it to replace them and it didn't get put back on for 2 or 3 years. Still wheeled like hell with chevron tractor tires.
Sooo, it was a 4wd less front driveline not a 2wd. Just like a 4wd that isn't put in 4wd.
@@offroad6309 hey man, it's whatever you want it to be, it's youtube comments. We referred to it as dads 2wd highboy because it stayed that way forever as a inside joke.
I'm falling in love with Utah. As a Native Floridian, I'm feeling guilty about that, but if I had to live anywhere else, I would want to live out there.
I know exactly what you mean. I'm not a Native Floridian, but I've been living here for the last 23 years. I wish I had a place in Utah. The only thing I don't like is dealing with snow, so it would have to be a part-time place!!!😅😅
Didn't think you built ol' Blue for this kind of trail recovery but you made it work as usual. Not sure many others could have. Nice job!
I love this youtube channel.... Rory always makes me smile with his down home humor and wit.... He can laugh at himself just as loud as anyone who laughs with him.... You Rock Rory !!!
Thanks for the reminder to do the research and know what you're getting into and there is no shame in turning around and trying a different way. Thanks Mike for the excellent videography of the beautiful landscape and great view angles of ole blue. Sadly no diamond billed rock peckers today 🤣.
It's super scenic! And when the scenery decides you should stop and enjoy it for a while.. call Rory
Keepin it simple, keepin it safe. Good job fellas, you keep the reality in reality TV
The OL' BLUE OX got her yoga in today for sure, plus a little slap on the asz
I don't know what it is but Mike has great camera work and angles. Nice work! Great eye!
Way to go boys. Watching ol Blue go up Rose hill was a little sketchy there for awhile and we thought Rory and Mike might have to turn around and go in the other way. But then we reminded ourselves it's Rory driving and ol Blue saying " oh hell no, let's go! Well done. 🤠🧑🦰🌲🌲 🎼
You can not appreciate how steep rose garden is from the video. The trail book says winching required. Amazing driving man!
Old blue did good. Mike should of been a tour guide he’s full of knowledge.
Great video. Wow the views from up there...
0:27 You have this and that and Mike has a - seat belt! Great to see Mike that you use a seatbelt. We love to have you around a long time. So keep using seatbelts!
Thanks for making. Great views and I was thinking that it was a rough road and you started saying we should have gone the other way.
Roy = Hyper do or die very talented mechanic and welder, a fix it guy! Hell he can almost drive a 4x4! 🤣
Shawn = Laid back, good mechanic, great driver , always smiles
Mike = Comic, great welder, camera man, able to make up stories in a flash!, and a good mechanic.
What a Team!
Sweet dude! The whole crew is uploading today. It's a great day lol I appreciate you guys. Thanks for sharing your experience 😊
Your videos make me feel like I'm standing right there next to the action! Seeing what your seeing. Great work, favorite channel!
NO touchy Mike, noooooooooo touchy!! Great content and thanks for showing us what NOT to do!! You guys are the best!
Rory & Mike crack me up....what a Mt Goat is Ol Blue!
Another, absolutely outstanding video by, our excellent TOW-TRUCK-DRIVER, RORY!!!!
I've never seen someone avoid rocks while driving, so perfectly as you do
That's what I like about those non-electric transfer cases. You can always MAKE it shift with your foot. Watching the front tires in the video, it is amazing how much steering Rory is doing. He's working that wheel all the time.
It was worth it for the scenery! So many beautiful views. Thanks!
Great job Rory and Mike! You never fail to impress.
I appreciate you and the guys !
Thrill a minute, would not miss it, thanks for the ride along
Ooo that's Cool Rory , 👍 Beside's Rescue work U Allso do Educational Video's 😉 Uall cover all the base's !! Thank's for the Schooling class and Happy trails !!
what amazing scenery Onion Creek is! Mad props for making it up that hill in Ole Blue!! Even a quick glance at google map did not really amplify what a treacherous stretch that was there. I have your number on speed dial if and when we make it to Moab. What a great rescue, you guys rock!
Holy shitake mushrooms Batman! Up a snowy Rose Garden Hill with no rear locker? Most impressive!
6:37 - You start to mention that your wrecker weighs EIGHT thousand pounds? That IS pretty impressive!
I don't know what it is about your videography, because it always appears so much higher resolution and as someone I saw already mentioned - "Mike has a really good feel on the shots". - - We were definitely spoiled today, with not only the content you provided, but also some from Mike's channel. Thanks again, for including us in your adventures! 👊
Great Camera work Mike. Great Advert for them BFG tires you run. Awesome Wheelin as per usual by Rory.
You guys are toe truck drivers not brain surgeons, that's why we watch. You guys really rock.
Best footage of old blue so far I hope u have more jobs here
I'm pretty sure you guys knew that going through Rose Garden Hill is not the fastest/easiest way of getting to Top Of The World Road 😆
🙋🏼♂️ Old Blue could compete in the Wrecker Games 💥
Rory knows his equipment and is not afraid to push it !
Dudes!!! Ol Blue got WORKED on that one💪💪💪😅😅😅
And that is why you’re going to win the heavy wrecker competition, not matter how great Matt’s truck looks / is, he doesn’t have you’re driving skills. This competition is going to rely allot on the driver, you got it in the bag.
amazing driving as per usual. I dont know rocks but i do know snow, impressive.
I'm impressed you went up Rose Garden in Ole Blue. Pretty Amazing.
Gotta love those old square body Chevy's! Good Luck!
I don’t care what anyone thinks!! I think the rear of the bed looks awesome the way you did it!! To all the square body enthusiasts out there, there are millions of long beds out there!! 👍😎
Awesome views!
I love the exhaust sound of old blue
Oh boy another sprinter van. 😮
Ol blue and the bfg's don't f around! Driver probably does his part too. Keep em coming Rory.
From 1 to 10 I give you 1000 on your off-road-driving skills. This is the most worried I've been watching one of your videos. I was worried that Ol'Blue lost grip and roll back as you hit the snow on that steep hill. I know you said you didn't do any research, but you played the hand you were dealt and Ol'Blue backed you up. Great camera work too, Mike!!! 🤙
I never get tired of those beautiful views
You guys make my day being you.
Early on Rory did not want to talk too much on videos. I enjoy the funny banter almost more than the impressive recoveries.
You guys are great 🎉🎉
On my brother's 1980's square body chevy the transfer case would always pop out as well, so we held the shifter lever in place with a tarp strap.
Great driving, not just anyone could navigate what you put blue thru. As always a pleasure to watch
You guys are the Professionals! You make it look easy. Well done and a teachable moment!
The skill it takes to get that old truck up that hill is exactly why you're taking home that first place trophy in the wrecker games🤣
The power of the duals compels...
Wow Rory never ceases to amaze!
Who needs the Super Bowl when we have the spectacle that is Rory Mike and Trailmater?
Experience shows..you guys rock
I love that ANYTHING a vehicle can travel on in your parts (North and South) constitutes a 'Road'. No pavement or anything else required, if you can get a vehicle down it, it's a road, darnit!
You guys make a great team!
Yeah, snow on rock steps is not a good combo. Thanks for the adventure and no crappy music !
Your the best my friend! Happy valentine's
Ol’ Blue holding its own !
one of your best 2023 resolution : following your GPS !! Your videos will be the greatest !!! Tks.
This was awesome guys! Old Blue is pulling its weight to say the very least, all 8,000 lbs of it!
Looking forward to the next videos, hope you have a great week.
Old Blue sounds great hammering up those hills and of course Rory's driving skills never disappoint. Nice job guys
Again, the scenery is awesome, I'm grateful people keep getting stuck so we can see Ol' Blue and the other vehicles wheelin' through these amazing vistas!
That's not a road, that's not even a trail. And that's not a hill. You just drove up Rose Garden Ledges.
Absolutely amazing demonstration of man and machine. -- Thanks for the fun adventure. ---
Thanks from England.
Crazy impressive squarebody 👌🏼👍🏼😎😎
GREAT JOB..MIKE TY FOR THE VIEWS,,LOTS CT SKIES THERE TODAY..STAY WELL
