After three years of production, Britt Allcroft's 'Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends' had become an instant hit in the UK with the first two series narrated by the ex-Beatles drummer Ringo Starr. Meanwhile, Wilbert and George Awdry co-wrote the special book about the Island of Sodor and all of it's history, people and railway lines.
Steaming To Legacy is a web documentary covering the incredible history of Thomas the Tank Engine and the impact the stories and characters have made. The series features many in depth interviews, little known facts, and a detailed timeline of the creative developments made within the book series, television series, movies, and specials. In addition, the web documentary also features sub-stories of similar children’s shows including TUGS and Shining Time Station. Daniel Coffey (SmurfyDan), creator of the series, serves as the director , editor and storyteller for the British version, while Joel "GeebMachine" Hunter serves as the American narrator in Matt Michaud (Enterprisingengine93)'s place. That was a brilliant video. It was great the learn about how the TV seasons were made and how the episodes and characters were brought to the screens. A shame 'The Missing Coach' was cancelled, but it was a delight to see still shots being shown after all this time. Well done for making this video and I wish you luck for the next special :).

It’s odd, in the books Stanley was the engine who was turned into a generator but in the tv show he was renamed into Smudger. Excellent video dude, Thomas and Friends will live on forever.
