    Earlier last year I got myself a GW-5000U-1JF and I love it. You have to put it on in order to feel how good it is. In November I got what I thought would be my “ultimate” G-Shock, the GMW-B5000D-1JF full metal G-Shock. But now that I have seen this Titanium G-Shock it has now become my “ultimate dream” G-Shock. Definitely not a watch that anyone would think would be so much money. :)

      It's a sleeper in specs and insanely light. The MRGs are completely different animals but still cool watches.

      I bought both the green camo and this watch early last year. Although I love the camo watch, I grab this watch much more often. On the wrist it reminds me of the black Casio squares I've worn for decades, yet those gold accents remind me I'm wearing something extra special. Get this watch, you won't be disappointed.

    Stealth wealth. My favorite of the high end squares so far.

      While it is considered stealth wealth (almost too stealthy if you get my drift) I wish the module had more unique features to separate and maybe warrant a bit more of the price tag.

      I completely agree. Titanium is awesome as well as the sapphire crystal. Also the titanium models are DLC coated instead of the IP found on all the stainless models except for one limited Porter edition. But these things alone don't justify the price IMO. The STN display is great but the stainless models have that too. I read somewhere that Casio spent 6 years developing their own titanium alloy for their titanium models. I'm sure that hefty R&D cost is passed onto their customers. I picked up the blue steel on rubber and got an authentic DLC bracelet for it. Kind of a dark gunmetal color and I think it looks awesome.

      @@sleepinglysithia I'm thinking about getting that DLC bracelet too, to go along with the Porter bezel on my GMW-B5000G-1. What do you think of the bracelet after spending some time with it, and how does it fare with scratches and wear & tear?

    • @sleepinglysithia
      @sleepinglysithia Před 2 lety +1

      @@dustycups I really like the bracelet and it seems to stand up to minor scratches quite well. The end links are not great for smaller wrists though. They protrude quite a bit and don’t curve down enough. I have 6.5” wrists but luckily my wrists are flat not round. I can get away with longer lug to lug but the bracelet barely works for me. If your wrists are at least 7” or smaller but flat I’d say go for it. It’s a very nice bracelet imo. Just heads up on the end links.

      @dustycups Před 2 lety

      @@sleepinglysithia Thanks for that. I've got a resin combi bracelet on a 5600 which has the same type of end links. My wrists are about the same as yours and it's just ok.
      Good to hear it's somewhat scratch resistant. I love the gunmetal grey too so I think I'll get one while they're still available. I was considering getting the genuine TB bezel and bracelet to save weight but it's too expensive.
      The original rubber band is good but the watch is a bit top heavy and my ideal size is between two holes.

    I just kept the Gold Metal Square ⬛ insane watch. Japan 🇯🇵 impeccably made. The golden is the best of them all, the IP coating keeps it from scratches as well.

    I recently purchased one of these from Shopping in Japan (the last one they had in stock) and it arrived with the battery on low. Although I love the watch, the battery is taking FOREVER to charge. I finally got it to halfway on the app indicator but it's taking a ridiculously long time to move any higher. It's kind of driving me nuts.

      Give it sunlight for a few days - that’ll sort you. Also note that getting to H sometimes is pointless and you’ll get there and within the hour it’ll come back to M.

    It's very Japanese. I heard that the Japanese often wear kimonos with the beautifully embroidered side facing inward. This watch is a reflection of this philosophy. Only you know that you have a very good watch on your hand, for others they look like ordinary plastic ones.
