Suggestion: unplug the negative terminal instead of positive. Using a short 8mm socket to push the 2 wire tied down clips out instead of pulling or prying.
I laughed so hard when you put power back to the car! Almost like the car was like “watch this I’m gonna surprise the hell outta him” haha! Thanks for the informative video! Getting ready to do this myself but now I know to insert the key in the ignition before I hook the battery back up! Lol.
Removing the negative terminal will avoid the alarm to go off? And also won’t scared me like it did to you when the freaking alarm went off . 🤔🤔🤔 other than that..... good job
Reason being, he correlated the positive terminal on the starter with the positive terminal on the battery, that's my understanding according to what he says towards the beginning of the vid. Apparently tho, according to someone else's comment and what sounds like could be your practice to disconnect the negative to cut of juice, still allowed for the car alarm to go off at end on the reconnect, I just went ahead and disconneted both terminals on the batt after watching this vid which was a definete help with the install.
Why is the starter replacement on the corolla so simple to do as compared to the honda civic? Civic is PITA to do and you have to get under the car. Extremely bad design. Corolla is the way to go. My Next car is Toyota
Finally someone that doesn't talk all this BS and just go straight to what we need to know

BEEP. 😬
Tip that helped me was when I was putting in the new starter, tighten the difficult bolt first and then the easy to see bolt
Good camera work though. I hate when mechanics skip everything.
I NEED to see everything you do lol ty
That would have scared me too. You handled that well, amigo!
Good video..Ready to do mine now. thanks

very good video
Why did you wait to connect the wires to the starter until it was fully installed? Could you connect them before installing?
Where is the wire top to starter 1 wire go to wer
👍
why did you remove the positive instead of the neg terminal on the battery just curious?

Bruh I took the 2 14mm and the starter still attached not even loose
The 14mm are so tight what can I do to take them off?
Have you tried to loosen it with good o' WD-40?
Can this be done without moving fan
yes but u would need to jack up the front of the car so I can grab the starter from underneath
Would this be the same process for an 06 Corolla?
I think so yes
Same starter fits 03-08 TC, pretty safe to assume so, ultimately tho boils down to where the starter is located in the engine.
I have a 06 too. What's in the video is the same spot mine is too. You're good.
I'm from Panama and the Starter of my Corolla, doesnt started yesterday after I ended up my shit at work. One of the worst sensations ever.
