      He also retired at 30 in the prime of his career. He had 3 more years of top of the nfl years left in him and at his physical stature that may have been 6+ years of pro bowl seasons. So yeah his numbers are not as gaudy as other receivers, but stack them by yearly averages and you get rice, moss, Harrison, TO, Fitzgerald, and Holt type of numbers.

  • @andrewnguyen4037

    I remember that Thanksgiving game against the Eagles vividly for one good reason: that rookie DB Rowe had a tough fucking game. Those TD's that Megatron grabbed were definitely earned, but it was so hard to watch Rowe endure it. He played great coverage for a good part of the game. It's not like Rowe gave him those TD's, he had blankets on Megatron but Calvin still caught them. Watching the game live, you could see Rowe on the bench with his head in his hands. He was so frustrated and confused, probably thinking "what else am I supposed to do if he is just gonna fucking catch everything?"
    Good times.

      @andrewnguyen4037 Před 5 lety +6

      well damn, I don't remember hearing about that lol. jeez. I don't think that is necessarily the case though. You don't fire a coach or cut a player because of one bad game. A bad season, sure. I don't remember the Eagles record from that season, but if it was bad, I could definitely see this game being a huge factor in that.
      Kelly, like the dumbass he is at times, decided to scheme a rookie DB to go 1 on 1 with Megatron in the endzone that game. Even knowing that Rowe did a great job coverage wise, it still was a shitty and stupid defensive plan at face value.
      He is also the same coach that could not pull his head out of his ass and get production out of Demarco Murray, only to get schooled on how to use Murray from the Titans.

    Almost every one of his highlights he's at least double-teamed, sometimes triple-teamed. World class!!!

    Both him and another former Lion by the name of Barry Sanders would be hailed today as the greatest of all time at their respective positions had they not made the decision to walk away from the game in their prime. I know Randy is the freak but this dude was in a whole ‘nother world.

    Amazing that a human being can be that big and that athletic and also extremely talented to go along with those god given physical attributes

    I honestly don’t think there has been another wideout in NFL history who was/is as much a physical phenom as Megatron. Dude was a linebacker/ tight end with wide out skills

    The greatest of all time. Forget stats, team success, etc., just look at the man and tell me there’s a single human you’d rather run any pattern. Objectively the goat and that might be selling it short

      SunamiKilla you could use that same exact argument for Jerry Rice.....he did the most with what he had. Jerry accomplished everything by having major heart. He didn't need a 6'5 frame to get the job done, he just out-hustled and out-ran every team. He made his QB's better, not the other way round.
