      Roy Keane said Beckham is everyone favourite because he will do exactly what he is asked to do with relentless determination he is everyone role model in the training pitch which was ultimately cause his demise from Manchester United. Fergie who was Beckham huge fan (calling him the best ever footballer in Britain) started to resent him. As Beckham sometimes challenged Fergie decision and tactics, thanks to Beckham immense presence he sometimes got the support from the squad and that annoy Fergie a bit and he started to accuse Beckham to be unfocused and blame it all on Victoria. Despite Beckham is still and always be the hardest working player. Roy Believes he was ousted for the same reason.

      @Anthony Lemon ....correct Anthony...the use of speedy wingers is also killing the No. 10 role. Because, a center forward now has to be inverted, i.e. come and link up play, while that was originally a job for a No. 10. And worse, you can't have 2 CF's on the pitch anymore. Which is sad. A typical example of this is the end of Ozil at Arsenal and Guan Marta benching at Man United. An example of an inverted CF is Harry Kane at Spurs, and Roberto Fermino at Liverpool, who have no choice but to come and join play and at times, have to be more of creators while RW & LW run behind them to occupy the space that should traditionally belong to them. Sergio Aguero struggled to do this a bit at Man City. That's why he has to leave by the end of the season. It's not because he's getting old. The game is kicking his kind out.

    • @philanintuli817
      @philanintuli817 Před 3 lety +5

      @Isabella Meyrink ....exactly Isabella...RM hardly score any goals as well unless they are set piece specialists like Beckham. They do however contribute a lot to chance creation with the deliveries into the box. Their value is seen when a team has a pure CF. We saw that at Real Madrid, Raul and Ronaldo enjoyed having Beckham on the pitch. One shortcoming here is that the team can't play with a RWB (Right Wing Back) because they'll end up fighting to occupy the same space and do the same job. I saw this fight when Real Madrid bought Cicinio (of Brazil) who wanted to overlap and Beckham didn't like it much. They had to sell Cicinio to Roma by the end of the season.

    beckham's long ball accuracy meant that he could pick a diagonal pass/cross from quite a distance to his intended recipient... so while he was a wide sided player, he didn't utilize pace or dribbling attributes like a traditional winger to get to the by-line or near the penalty area before trying to pick out his team mates....youll hardly see beckham anywhere near the opposition penalty area...
    Him playing from a deeper position made him a useful outlet for his central mid and defensive lines and also meant for opposing defenders that were tasked to try defend against him, meant beckham could pull his marker into spaces of the pitch that meant more space for his team mates in the final third.
    It must've been quite nerve wrecking for opposing last line defenders to always need to be alert from pirlo and beckham long balls which could be hit from 40-50meters away. This wasn't vintage milan but was interesting nonetheless
