    Ronaldinho didn't outshine Beckham in anyway. They both bossed this match Beckham's earlier passes were way more effective, Ronaldinho came on when Beckham was tired as well which saved him a lot of running. There's no player who can play a long pass like Beckham and Pirlo. They were snipers. I miss this kind of football, nowadays if you sneeze in the penalty box its a penalty so defenders dont even tackle. We're also seeing less long passes most of the football is now played on the ground. Beautiful finish by Inzaghi as usual

    Without trying to knock Ronaldinho, one of the greatest players ever, I really don't appreciate how difficult he made some of his passes to control 😅 I have seen loads of documentaries about La Masia and players like Xavi and Iniesta and one of the things they drill over and over again is the importance of taking the spin out of the ball and keeping it on the ground so that the receiver is able to control it much more easily, or play a one touch pass without concern (the biggest killer of first touches is ball spin). In these Ronaldinho clips I can't help but notice that he seems to do the opposite. I'm sure it's unintentional, but a lot of his passes look awful to receive. He regularly, unnecessarily, lifts the ball into the air. He will often send in passes that end up knee height (awkward height to control - not chest height or foot height). There's regularly spin. You can tell Ronaldinho was a winger, not a midfielder.

    • @instgtr5200
      @instgtr5200 Před 7 měsíci

      He does that alot in barca from left wing. Mostly ludovic giuly or Eto'o made a run to receive the ball on penalty area. But not crossing pass. More like upper long thru pass. I dont know what is that called
