Shout out to the sound engineers. Every drummer sounds better in Drumeo than their original content. It's where you can actually trust that what we hear is what is happening, it always feels human.
The sound here is soooo much better than the short form videos he puts out. Here they have tone and depth, while the other videos sound merely like clicks.
I think it’s on purpose tho. His shorts are all about speed and in order for you to hear each note better and more distinctly, everything has to be super tight and clicky. Just my guess
Yeahhhhh finally he's at Drumeo HQ.Last time Drumeo went to his studio in Spain but now he (Esterpario) went to Canada to film awesome lessons for us!! Wave from Malaysia!!
I’ve been watching this guy online for like five years now and his English has gotten so much better especially over the last year since he’s blown up. I tip my hat to you, sir.
The Kickblock is great, but it doesn’t work on every rug. The gaff trick is a bit more waste from show to show, but it’s super reliable no matter what rug you’re on. I still take my kickblock everywhere, but when in doubt, gaff has worked for years and years for my left pedal.
I discovered by accident that a cheap utility carpet is the same as the soft side of velcro. So I purchased adhesive velcro strips, peeled/ripped the rubber grips off my pedals, and replaced them with 4 strips of the rough side of velcro. Now both of my pedals are practically stuck to the carpet I play on. The carpet is thin, light, and not much bigger than the area my drums take up so it's easy to transport.
I myself being highly interested in Flamenco style for a multitude of reasons; find that direction of instruction very important. The flourishes alone make the Palos much more interesting. Not being locked into Western 4/4. Thank you sir!
I've been a drummer since 13 I'm 25 now and going through some difficult times, I have no kit and couldn't play it if I had one because it's too loud. I also have no money so getting an electric kit isn't an option. I love watching the videos though it reminds me of a better time when I had a kit and the space to play anything I want.
I wish we had CZcams videos back when I was playing along to records and cassettes blasted in the basement in 1984. Since metal drumming was relatively new there weren't many people who could teach it, I got my first couple of drum lessons from Chuck Biscuits of the hardcore punk band DOA, he was a friend of my dad, then I gave my guitars, a 1981 Fender Strat, a 1974 Gibson Les Paul, amps, pedals, etc, to his friend Spike for some real punk/rock drum lessons, I sucked at guitar anyway. After that everything was learned mainly by ear and playing along to tapes and albums, I was particularly obsessed with Iron Maiden's Piece Of Mind and Slayer's Show No Mercy that first summer. Now new drummers can even watch professional drummers give lessons for freakin' free on YT. Y'all have it so easy nowadays.
"we all know how to play fast" - no sir, we don't... I don't think I could play a measure of the blast beat. Whenever I try to play fast, I tense up and miss notes
Not trying to take anything away from, but this kick speed is quite regular for metal. Blast beats are often played much faster than this, like 200 bpm and beyond. I enjoyed this lesson for the creativity though!
Thank you so much for everything you do El Este! You sir are an inspiration. Please keep up the great work and thank you again for these lessons. Looking forward to your 30 day challenge.
This could definitely work if you use the blast on a closed hi hat and open it on the clave accents. Trym from Emperor used to do stuff like that to give the blast a little groove, but accented parts of the riff instead of a full blown clave like on this video. I highly recommend you listen to the song “Ensorcelled by Khaos” and listen from minute 4:58 Trym starts with a really nifty little groove with the blast and closed hi hat and opens it just enough to follow the riff
now play the 2-3 rumba and son cave on the high-hat and the 3-2 on the ride at the same time while doing the standard snare bass blast.... this is super sayan 5 mode
The most impossible blast beat is the one Paul Mazurkiewicz plays in a lot of Cannibal Corpse songs where is Ride hand just goes haywire off beat wile the blast just keeps grinding.
I was thinking that these "useless" blast beat at first siund very good, but I was curious to see this but with the left foot on double pedal I could make a double bass groove on the blast beat (the left foot kicks would be played between the right foot kicks)
I'm not a drummer. I never will be a drummer. I didn't even enjoy this video. But I am very excited to see El Estepario in studio because I bet he's got a lot more cool stuff to come!
Shout out to the sound engineers. Every drummer sounds better in Drumeo than their original content. It's where you can actually trust that what we hear is what is happening, it always feels human.
yeah, this is how this guy actually sounds. his own videos are mixed so crazy it sounds ridiculous
eh I like his personal mix better. I'm not a fan of their kick setup everything else is crisp
Ikr? Also, I don't like the sound of El esssteparrio
This is the first time that the snare of this guy don't sound like a paperbox.
As much as I love his drumming I dislike his original drum kit sound.
amazing lesson.. this inspires me to sell my drums and switch to tambourine.. thank you!
so funny!
😂😂😂😂
Don't give yourself that much hope man, everyone loves a good triangle
Haha same here
Dude’s so ridiculously good he makes me laugh out loud. And then burn my drums.
He makes me glad I play guitar😁
It's one thing to do what you, it's entirely different being able to teach what you do. This man is the total package in the drumming world
The sound here is soooo much better than the short form videos he puts out. Here they have tone and depth, while the other videos sound merely like clicks.
I believe he's not using triggers here
I think it’s on purpose tho. His shorts are all about speed and in order for you to hear each note better and more distinctly, everything has to be super tight and clicky. Just my guess
@@dagonzalez1757 Could still be using triggers and just be using a totally different sample.
@@ThaBeatConductor didn't see any triggers in the video tho
I believe he uses a Yamaha EAD for recording his short form videos while the kit is actually fully mic'd up in this video.
This is such a wonderful lesson. It's always good to showcase the easiest lesson so that people don't get intimidated ☺️
Yeahhhhh finally he's at Drumeo HQ.Last time Drumeo went to his studio in Spain but now he (Esterpario) went to Canada to film awesome lessons for us!! Wave from Malaysia!!
This dude is a wizard. I know some great drummers (some in big bands) and he continues to blow me away EVERY time. You're crushing it
That rumba beat throws me so hard, yet the son clave is very natural for me.
I’ve been watching this guy online for like five years now and his English has gotten so much better especially over the last year since he’s blown up. I tip my hat to you, sir.
Cool and difficult stuff!
I recall seeing Derek Roddy do this for the first time back in the 2000's.
Cheers
You know your amazing when people think what you do is fake cos its to good. The new face of tech drumming, so exciting.
This dude is not human, he’s a machine… love his content.
Great showcase @Drumeo!
Video 51 of commenting until Drumeo makes a "Best Rudimental Drummer of the Year" award category
I nominate this dude for the aforementioned award!
Most definitely!!! Loopy Grandma agrees that Drumeo needs to do this!!!
Drumeo doing excellent work making the drums sound fantastic as always.. it's like it's their job or something
Yup my brain is doing rumba overload😳 the amount of coordination and practice he puts in is 🤯. Respect goes out to all drummers out there🤘🏽
Trey Williams of Dying Fetus actually plays a badass close version of the 2-3 son clave samba in the song Enlighten Through Agony. Super sick
The Master is here! Class is in session....
Honestly, the biggest tip I took away from this was using gaffer tape to tape down the left pedals. That’s genius definitely stealing that one.
a kickblock is what you need
The Kickblock is great, but it doesn’t work on every rug. The gaff trick is a bit more waste from show to show, but it’s super reliable no matter what rug you’re on. I still take my kickblock everywhere, but when in doubt, gaff has worked for years and years for my left pedal.
Been drumming over 20 years I’m so glad I learned this stealing it too.

Hey brothet, fan of your work and death metal drumming!
El Estepario is one of the coolest human beings on the planet....oh, and a friggin drum LEGEND. I could watch him fold laundry and explain it.
Awesome video as always, Drumeo! The 3-2 Son Clave is also used in Candombe, a native music from Africa that has a huge part in Uruguayan culture! 🇺🇾
I myself being highly interested in Flamenco style for a multitude of reasons; find that direction of instruction very important. The flourishes alone make the Palos much more interesting. Not being locked into Western 4/4. Thank you sir!
Hate Eternal - Sons of Darkness
(Derek Roddy)!
Was about to comment the same.
Coolest commercial ever for Jorge's independence class.

Hope you'll get to a stage again, when you can afford a kit and play it.
Sticks and a practice pad ?
I do sometimes, definitely miss the feeling of hitting an acoustic kit
@@callum7227 ya it's a great release !
Im learning how to program drums for metal im def gona use these beats
For those who ever played drums, this is very technical and advance coordination demonstration. Amazing to see.
I wish we had CZcams videos back when I was playing along to records and cassettes blasted in the basement in 1984. Times sure have changed. Maiden and Slayer!!!🤘🏿
The groovefather arrives 🎉🎉🎉❤
Finally. It's about time you guys got El Estepario on here.
This I'd sn excellent independence exercise. I've learned so much from el estepario siberiano
"we all know how to play fast" - no sir, we don't... I don't think I could play a measure of the blast beat. Whenever I try to play fast, I tense up and miss notes
I'd bet a band like Carcass could do something legit amazing sounding with a concept like this
Carcass sucks lmao
Check out the Kevin Paradis blastbeat video.
Derek Roddy alredy did it with Hate Eternal like 20 years ago...
@@studiobross Derek Roddy is a joke
@@Nightwalk444the only joke here is you dude
Definitely looks like this will be a challenging 30 days. Looking forward to it.
gotta love El Estepario, he is the absolutely TRUTH
Baterías como este, solo nace uno cada siglo. Disfrutemos
This guys cool as hell naturally. And a beast.
Not useless! I'm going to try this at home!
This is definitely inspiring. El Estepario is such a great drummer AND instructor.
Holy shit his single kick speed is blowing my mind

Gotta respect how clean those sounds😭
Here for LATIN METAL! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Single blast beat > double pedal blast beats
Derek Roddy was doing this 20 years ago in death metal. One example is the song called path to eternal gods by the band hate eternal.
I didn't learn a thing. Just kept headbanging.
I'm listening to the blast beats imagining a vocalist going "OYE GRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOAAAAAAA"
Why don't we see drum lessons on your channel? You're such good teacher never thought about it
I love how delicate the rumhah sounds compared with the full set
Please do a for the first time episode with el estepario!
Heck yeah! The Step is at Drumeo!!! It finally happened!
Never new keemstar was that good at drums
The inventor of the anti-gravity blast roll. 🤘
Man this is a total brain melter for me hahaha! I gotta practice!
love the conept of balance. I´ve been working it a lot
Bello/Magnifico.☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️🧨💰🌡️
OMG, at last Estepario with good drum sound!
Kevin Paradis will LOVE this!
This could definitely work if you use the blast on a closed hi hat and open it on the clave accents. What's crazy is before I started drumming I actually expected it to sound exactly like this 😅😅😅
He is amazing
Cryptopsy - Carrionshine. Super crazy drumming
I think this could sound so good doing accents in bell with this pattern instead hi-hat, taking apart this is made to exercise coordination.
The real reason why these blast beats are called useless is because they make us feel useless on drums...
Oh God. El Estepario has proper mics. No undergarment is safe now.
Damn dudes a machine
Your super human talent is amazing to watch! Your ability to stay humble and just be a fucking cool dude is what I find most impressive!
now play the 2-3 rumba and son cave on the high-hat and the 3-2 on the ride at the same time while doing the standard snare bass blast.... this is super sayan 5 mode
Now that sounds like an impossible feat, but I still want to try it.
"Its very basic, you'll just put this pattern over the blast beat"
My brain: 'mmm, no'.
The most impossible blast beat is the one Paul Mazurkiewicz plays in a lot of Cannibal Corpse songs where is Ride hand just goes haywire off beat wile the blast just keeps grinding.
What would be REALLY hard is to incorporate that sort of dragging shuffle of cumbia into a blast beat.
I was thinking that these "useless" blast beat at first siund very good, but I was curious to see this but with the left foot on double pedal
I could make a double bass groove on the blast beat (the left foot kicks would be played between the right foot kicks)
Yes!!!! Finally!!! So excited for this!! Ok now lemme get back to the video OoooooWeeeeeee! 🤘😃
This is all child's play for my man estapario
the goat 🐐
Omg the king himself
You can tell he has a blast
Fantastic playing and I know this is still easy mode for my boi Estepario!

Great stuff packed into this video 🤘
Love this guy. I’m subscribed to his channel 👍
"CLAVE" is in all latinoamerican music. Buen video de todos modos !
I think you have more Latin American music to discover
Absolutely love El Estepario Siberiano! What a drummer, what a mind!
Hey Drumeo... when you gunna get Austin Archey on??
This guy could play on a Walmart kit and still make it sound amazing!!!
A Master Class!
Grande Estepario Siberiano! o como dicen los gringos: El Esteparriou Saiberianou
Una auténtica locura. Difícil no, lo siguiente.
Blast beat drills are like riding a concrete bicycle to train for the Tour De France.
bro finally guested 😮🎉
Might even be some pros jumpin on this one🤔
Dudes something else!
