- A few people requested a sardaukar video with my understood subtitles, so here i made a short one, i covered every language a bit now, i plan to make more now and then, i have a few other requested scenes that i might do...
Thanks for watching! - Krátké a kreslené filmy
Sardaukar: "Those who stand against us fall"
Sandworm: "Hold my beer"
They don't stand, they crawl!
worms don't have legs. problem solved.
"Hold my holy water"
"hold my spice"
It's sad to see that the Butlerian Jihad destroyed the concept of umbrellas, too. The mentat guy would look nice with an umbrella.
And the sadukar with rain catch pockets would be cute.
Everyone should get umbrella hats.
Mah boi Thufir got a fancy one
Thufir did have an umbrella though
My theory is that the Harkonnen mentat didn't take one, because, knowing Harkonnen and Sardukar cultures, he considers it "unmanly" and didn't want to "show weakness" in front of the Sardukar
@@xuruiyu or they use umbrellas just against the sun then and never against rain.
The funniest part is that even though they still fought back against the Freman, you could tell they were scared sh*tless
Well to be fair, mad religious extremists riding giant worms was probably not in the Sardukar training program. Syllabus changes were caught up in committee.
@@danielhaire6677 based religious extremism
@@camulodunon Well, I didn;t meant mad as in insane. I meant thoroughly pissed off.
They were scared of the worms not the fremen.
Sure pal whatever you say xD
Could you use a different font next time, this one is hard to read since some letters look like different letters
I realized that afterwards, i just wanna mix up the colors and fonts to different styles in each video, cause it would be more boring, i kinda liked this look for sardaukar
@@KEV19019dont need to do that, just pick a sleek font and use white colour
@@Despotic_Waffle definetly white color not dark green, also vibrant neon colors take too much focus away from the picture imo
@@KEV19019 What in the world gave you that idea? 😂😂😂
I like his voice, it’s so crunchy
Sardukar morning routine be like
06:00 - Wake up
06:45 - go outside in full gear to stand in a rain while throat singing.
This is the worst rave I've ever seen.
>Wake up at 4 A.M
>See it's raining
>Dress and go outside
>Kneel in the rain
>"Alexa, play Sardaukar chant extended-1 hour version"
>"Alexa, volume 10"
>Kneel in the drenching rain, meditating on how I must serve the Padishah Emperor
>Neighbours wake up and begin to shout at me
>Their insults are merely a test of my will power
>One of them comes to me and hits me
>His punch is merely a test of my will power
>Do this every morning to serve the Padishah Emperor
@@thegiantratthatmakesalloft1613 😂
I've always taken the translation of the motton starting at 0:21 to be "See'uka Baade, Sakusa Akista Faade"
Same
It clearly sounds like "faale"/"faala" to me.
lip reading the sadukar guy speaking through his teeth, he's speaking inglish.
lol i only noticed now - perhaps it was easier for them to convey emotion this way
"AT SA TA"
'nuff said.
The actor playing the Sardaukar is actually speaking English and being dubbed over in whatever the Sardaukar language is. You can see his lips don't match his words, like a Kung Fu movie.
I think its weird how the word for emperor changes three times, at least as far as i can see
Yeah, thats the case in every language of dune somehow🤣
@@KEV19019 Maybe its like some sort of "context sensitive" honorific that changes depending on it's placement in a sentence and/or usage or context?
it's "declinations", like in german or latin
If you guys noticed, in the scene where stilgar and chani's groups argue after jessica survived the spice agony, "fremen" is pronounced as fremen
"The mahdi must be fremen"
But in paul's dialog addressing the fedaykin during his lisan al gaib speech after going through spice agony, he pronounces fremen as fremni
"When this planet had a fremen name"
Pronounciations change with context
@@caffeineman4584 Good catch!
Some parts of the movies are so much better than the books. That almost never happens. They're said to be strong in the books, but just get stomped constantly. They only beat the Atreides through trickery.
Sand worms: “we don’t even need to stand to beat you”
Lol their scary animalistic language did not save them when the lisan Al mf Gaib pulled up with the bois.
In that scene though the Sardukar speak normally, at least the one guy who talks.
David J. Peterson gave the exact translations. Its shortened english. You subtitles are just random nonsense.
“No! We are the Sardaukar!” “N. th Sardaukar!” (compress and speed up) “nah! (Tha/Sa)daukar!
“Those who stand against us fall!” “ se-who st- gai-st u- falla “ (compress and speed up) “suh-oost-ageesta-fallah”
Cant you read descriptions? All of the videos i did subtitles its just my version of what i understand 🤣 i know its nonsense, i never saw the real subtitles, i know i am far off
I always wonderd how emperor became 'uka' in their language. Sounds nothing alike.
It’s just modified English? That’s cool!
@@dylans0630 Yes. Its supposed to be "hyper efficient military english". The Sardaukar wanted a language with zero waste. The got rid of all unecessary vowels.
@@Rudeljaeger cooooooool 😎
I like the Harkonnen language a lot as well
Reminds me of the 2000's anime fan subs.
Only needs an "editors note" at the top about how there is no English word for a certain phrase that does the meaning of the word justice.
Hi! Could you do a transcript of paul speech in chakobsa? I've been trying but I dont have any editing skills to do it.
Check my channel😁 i have one already, not all of it due to copyright, but the highlights
hambu hambu hambu hambu hamburger
Finally this video
You are fast) great job!
little disappointed he didn't get the call for part 2. kind of disappointed with everything about the sardaukar in part 2.
They also didn't even talk like this in pt 2. The only time we see them talk they're talking like some high nobleman.
Where did these transcriptions come from? Are they guesses?
Is it known what language the Bashar is speaking here? Is it essentially “Sardaukarese”? I can’t discern what other languages it might have derived from.
Sardaukar: "I was a cabin boy, but now I am a cabin man!"
Can you upload your videos in a different format
I feel like i'm reading a Aurebesh
The worst font for the best scene. Makes sense.
Sorry for that, i wanna make them different each time, its quite readable to me, you just gotta know the few letters and understand what they say, then its quite ok.🙏🏻
Finally
Sardaukar = saudagar ?
In Arabic "saudagar" means "merchant"
Space spice merchant ?
Could be a fun play on words maybe? Like because they are a military organization they are "Merchants of Death/War", but also because the economy (and just about everything else) in the Dune universe revolves around Spice and those who control it have to use force to ensure they are the ones that have their monopoly on it.
Ul Ush Bagacht? dash Harkani gushudat Atridish chu papi shta dum darnash?......Na ! Shaduka, ki ukabaade. Sakusa akista faade.... Ta abula kamanzi. At sha dah.
Why didn't you just use the official subtitles but instead of went with this "interpretation"? What is the purpose
I am not even sure if the official subtitles are all out yet, it was just a fun idea to me, to write what i understand
@@KEV19019 took me two minutes to find them
bro, typeface.
Priest dude: Id like to buy a B, L, and H.
And I hear Abuka bade ( for Emporer's blades) and Harkani not Arkadi. But who knows what is speech impediment or real.
why does he blink like that lul 0:34
Thought the same thing🤣 maybe cause piter is a mentat, half Computer half human... Looks quite trippy
“We are Sadukar. The emperor blades”
The little dessert mouse: Hold my spice!
3 seconds later*
The little dessert mouse: kill the Sadukar. Leave the emperor.
They made them super badass for one scene and then they do nothing but job with their MC hammer pants for the rest of the movies😑
Nothing but job? what does that mean
They sneak behind the Atreides troops when storming the palace and finish them off. Otherwise, they don’t do much
@@RB725GamingHD they kill duncan idaho
@@camulodunon yeah but he killed like 20 of them tho lol
Unlesss you read the book and know how badass he is, swarming hin with 10-20 man and killing him dosent seem any acomplishment. Actualy, from the film sardukars dosent seem as anything special
The No subtitle Part He insults him. Narr which is Idiot or imbecile in German. Sardukar have the mongolian will. Strength tongue and Rituals from Vikings. Martial Prowess from Samurai. All the while Being an Alien culture.
My interpretation of the Sardaukar language:
uour us-pakatzt dash arkadi koshuda akridish tu api shtadinna narsh
ah! sardaukar. Si uka badeh, sakusa akista faadeh
omula karansi. atsatda
Well, Sardaukars actually talk English. That's not a joke.
Highly evolved/modified one
@@Gelatinocyte2 Not modified but stripped away - I couldn't remember the source exactly, but the Conlang Dept/Director said he just stripped away English Words of syllables to make a tongue in image of the proud warriors using it : efficient and direct
Though, i would love a real interview of the Conlang director to see directlt what he wanted to create
(and of course, i mean modify in a sense of replacing words)
Bad font choice wtf
Wtf is that font bro
Sorry, i just wanted variety
I like the green steiking color contrasted to the gray, blue
Can we get some Weirding Modules?
No!
These guys were so hyped up and then they just suck in the second movie.
Yeah, but the sardaukar are the least exciting guys in my opinion. I love the harkonnens the most.
You gotta glorify the sardaukar to glorify the fremen. You know irs bad when even sardaukar ran away from fremen
they where heavily outnumbered there. in the books the fremen say that the sardaukar unlike the harkonnen soldiers where at least a challenge
any idea what's being chanted in background?
