The reason why Chinese people like this movie is precisely because he said that Hong Kong is China😂
He should say England 🏴
Why did people who wrote the script have him say Hong Kong. Could have used Tsushima, Komaki, Nagoya, Osaka that's right those are Japanese cities, wouldn't of fit the hidden political dig at certain individual and supporters. Its crazy to think that Jesse Plemon's scene was only a few minutes in the movie. Yet his character became the most notable part of the entire movie. This man is a really underrated actor.
Super true. Watching this scene in the theater was heart racing!
Is he underrated? Plemons gets big props with everyone I know. We love him. When I first ever saw him I said to a friend that he looks like the love child of Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Matt Damon. Years later I heard him referred to as "Fat Damon"🤣. But Christ he's good...

The craziest part is Jesse Plemons wasn’t even supposed to be in this film. The actor who played his original character dropped out last minute and Jesse is married to Kirstin Dunst and basically volunteered to do it, I don’t even believe he is credited. He is a phenomenal actor. Lol ever since Todd😂 he is so good at playing chill psychopaths.
Yes this exact comment is on every video related to this movie
He didn’t volunteer his wife begged him to do it and he almost didn’t because he didn’t like the character he was playing
Favorite character he’s ever played is Gary in Game Night. Criminally overlooked movie!
Damn bruh, coming in hot with the deep cuts
Apparently Jesse Plemons isn’t keen on roles involving violence, seeing this scene you have to admire him for putting that aside to support his wife to continue producing on the movie.
You gotta love how Jesse never shouts or screams yet he can chill you to the bone. Now that's a proper actor
This is pure breaking bad terror.

It’s a mid argument so they were trying to say that’s why he didn’t hear it, but yea, it was pure plot armor lmao
This guy kind of looks like a young Philip Seymour Hoffman.
I always thought the same thing
He became famous after appearing on Breaking Bad, and at the time people called him the fake Matt Damon.
A "young" Philip Seymour Hoffman. He died at 46. He was only 46 when he was "old".
If PSH and Matt Damon had a child.
First time I saw him in a movie, I thought he was Matt Damon in makeup.
Notice the poor state of his hands. That’s because he’s been handling lye to break down the dead bodies without wearing gloves. That’s the stuff he was sprinkling at the beginning of the scene.
Could be pickling lime as well
Can someone explain why he’s putting that over the bodies? I get it’s to decompose them but why is he trying to do that? Is it to hide the evidence and why not just let it naturally decompose?
@@memesouls8653 I’m wondering the same thing, I doubt it would matter in an all out civil war how long it takes for bodies to decompose
@@memesouls8653 It's to prevent disease and keep pests away from the corpses. It also keeps it from stinking too bad, for the people who have to eventually bury them.
@@ToyotaTechnical Pretty much this. Mass graves will emit a large amount of decomposition gas and smell even when buried due to the large amount of organic matter. The lye will prevent a good amount of that. It will also make it more difficult for forensic teams to find the corpses since it eliminates a lot of the tell tale signs of recent burials.
The reason why he’s laughing at 3:38 is also very ironic. He asks Jessie why Missouri is called the “Show me” state. The reason why it’s called that is after a strike depleted the ranks of local miners, Missouri miners were imported to take their place. While acquainting the Missourians with local mining practices, supervisors reportedly took to saying, “That man is from Missouri. You'll have to show him.” So, when he asks her why it’s called “the show me state” and she answers back with: “I don’t know” he laughs and replies: “It’s American. It is American. 100%”. Basically, he thinks she has no idea how ironic she’s being at that moment by NOT knowing why it’s called that.
Missouri has had many nicknames through the years, but the one most widely known is
the “Show Me State.” No one knows exactly when or where the expression originated.
Much of the credit for popularizing the term, however, goes to Congressman Willard
Duncan Vandiver of Cape Girardeau County.
Vandiver - a scholar, writer and lecturer who served as a U.S. Representative from
1897 to 1905 - used the expression during an 1899 speech in Philadelphia. Vandiver
bore a strong facial resemblance to another famous Missourian, Mark Twain, and was
noted as a colorful orator. Speaking to Philadelphia's Five O'Clock Club, he questioned
the accuracy of an earlier speaker's remarks, saying:
"I come from a state that raises corn and cotton and cockleburs and Democrats, and
frothy eloquence neither convinces nor satisfies me. I am from Missouri. You have got
to show me."
I'm from Missouri I didn't know that either so point taken
Your story doesn't make sense.. Where did the Missouri miners go to?
@@APAKane Missouri miners who worked in Leadville, Colorado. Men from Joplin, Missouri, went to work in Colorado during that state's miner strike in the early 1900s. Rumor has it that these out-of-towners were so unfamiliar with Colorado mining practices that they needed a lot of instruction. The result was conversations that started with statements like, "That man is from Missouri - you'll have to show him."

CZcams doesn’t do the gun shots justice. It sounded like someone was actually popping off rounds in the theater when I saw it on imax. The sound had a huge impact on how you saw this movie.
Noticed the same thing too, since this is pirated from a stream it's especially 'sticky' when he shoots. This scene was the highlight of the movie. It made you feel naked and exposed, like reminding you of how powerless and vulnerable your soft tissue is against a bullet. The film has great sound design. I saw it once in imax and a second time in dolby atmos. Those gunshots glued me to my seat and kept my lungs still.

This scene wasn't going to be in the film. Jesse plemon turned up on set with a Rifle after a night of heavy drinking and started asking the cast where they were from.
The director liked it so much he left it in the final cut.
That is a lot of Twitter, CZcams and Facebook moderators in that ground. Not all of them, but that's a good start that should keep on going.
It made me roll my eyes when the same crowd of people came out of the woodwork to complain about Plemon’s trigger discipline, but that was kinda the point in the film. The rule of firearms safety states to keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you are ready to fire. Likely a lot of people’s attention was split between Plemon’s sunglasses and his gun, so the subtle move of his finger to the trigger mid-conversation was a cue to the crowd that someone was going to be shot, regardless of the conversation’s outcome. He was never going to negotiate a release of the reporters, and was simply just toying with them until he didn’t feel like it anymore.
Correction...they were Journalistias
He's clearly a racist. He'd just kill the Americans because they're friends with the Asians.

Its assumed the uniforms are stolen and these guys are out committing war crimes while there is a civil war being waged. Possible militia cause of the single patch on the left shoulder.
Yep, the journalists mention they don't look like either side. I think a lot of people may have misinterpreted this scene. The trailer specifically made it seem like it was a scene of confusion of who's side who belongs to, but the man is asking them whether they are "real Americans" or "foreigners". That's why he shoots the two Asian fellas.

Agree. The trailer cutting out that second part really upped the tension. It made it an ideological question without a clear answer.
Problem with that is most people in the US don’t consider southern or Central American people as potential Americans since no one refers to themselves by continent names. Whereas in the US the only thing they could be called is Americans, so this would’ve flown over many peoples heads.
Its terrible writing all around, he would have sussed them all out from their obvious reaction.

I didn't even Notice, Guess the scene was too intense
Facts I thought that was my PC for a second and my heart dropped
The idea that journalists are sympathetic good guys the audience is supposed to root for is the first sign this movie has an agenda.
Or maybe that you're a fascist.
This scene is absolutely chilling, and proof positive that the scariest things dont always happen in the dead of night.
That line + Those glasses = Iconic scene
That word is overused these days. Ben Hur is iconic. 'I am your father' in star wars is iconic.
what Kind of Americans are you? is a very Iconic inmortal Sentence from a Movie. you will see.
Its not.
That line + Those glasses = MAGA
That Asian dude just needed to say Texas
🤣🤣🤣 Unfortunately, it might make the guy ask more questions though (assuming there was an open border crisis prior to the Civil War in said universe)!

This is the most tense scene I’ve ever watched in theaters ever
i don't even need to see the movie now. thanks. only part i wanted to see happened.
This scene seemed so much more interesting in the trailer, since with the whole secession subject, the line of 'what kind of American are you?' seemed like a line describing how simply calling yourself an American wasn't enough anymore. It was so intriguing, and then it turned out he was just a xenophobe. Real missed potential if you ask me
From the trailer I thought he was gonna ask if they are from the TX-CA side of America or not. This is boring.
Facts this shit could’ve really had us reflect on the USA but it just went for the whole “Can’t we ALL JUST GET along???” angle, which we’ve seen 100 times already
Yes, very true point! The film is effective in portraying how Civil War could devolve our country into chaos, but I think that the filmmakers tried so hard to avoid politics that they neutered anything interesting or insightful about the conflict itself. The characters know the details but we're kept mostly in the dark.
look around. you think this is the first civil war? The irony is, IF civil war happens, you think it's gonna be state to state related... or MAYBE the very press being gunned down will cause the lines to be drawn on the very xenophobic, class and gender related divide the very press being gunned down is causing? You've gotta be asleep to not see it happening, right in front of your eyes... and you expected a history lesson. Asleep.
this whole movie was just soo politically in your face
This scene has a Bosnian War feeling. The sun, the dead bodies inside the hole, the nationalistic paranoia..

Fun fact: This was Jesse Plemons during breaks.
Also fun fact: after the scene ended, Plemons said "so when are we starting the scene?"
Fun fact: their insurance policy specified that they use blanks, but Jesse Plemmons insisted on using live ammo so that the surprise on their faces would be real.

This was probably one of the most brutal scenes of them all.

Tough scene. Not because it's gory or overly dramatic ... because it's totally relatable. I bet stuff like that is happening all over the world .. right now.

@@multiyapples Sadley, human beings are tribal and wired for conflict. It is in our DNA and it will take a very long time if ever to overcome that. We literally have to evolve out of it.
It is. I've seen real life videos from similar situations. I won't say where and when but it's very gruesome. What's worse is that in many cases like this, instead of guns, they use knives, machetes or just blunt tools to inflict the most pain.
we have MJ, todd alquist, and pablo escobar all in one scene

Certainly. Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) are popular for long-term investments due to their diversified nature. ETFs offer exposure to a wide range of assets, such as stocks, bonds, or commodities, which can help reduce risk. Some top choices for long-term investing include broad market index ETFs, sector-specific ETFs, and bond ETFs, as they provide potential for growth and income over an extended period while minimizing the risk associated with individual stocks.
Numerous compelling stocks span various industries for you to consider tracking. While it's not necessary to act on every prediction, enlisting the guidance of a financial advisor is advisable. They can assist you in determining optimal entry and exit points for purchasing and selling shares or ETFs, ensuring well-timed decisions aligned with your investment goals.
I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 4years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.
Kindly share the details for reaching your advisor. With inflation negatively affecting my funds, I'm in search of a more lucrative investment strategy to optimize their performance.

Tired of the trope of revving cars and characters only becoming aware of them when they're already upon them?
Yeah watching it now, it was definitely a bit unrealistic, but in the theater it totally caught me off guard.
@@cassnate6259 For sure mate. I always play both sides in my mind, eg, they were super focused on each other etc as "reasons" but I also double check things and that road to the left where the car came from went on a bit so not hearing it wasn't a totally viable option for the characters. Nitpicking continuity etc but it's a tired, very tired trope. I'm thinking of creating something to vent my movie gripes. Like, in films and tv takeaway coffee cups and boxes are always so obviously empty (for safety, I know) that it just looks so wrong. Just put something light in them to make it not seem like the characters arms and hands are gravity defying...
I'd make a Supercut of every time a character comes out of a bathroom from using the toilet it's IMMEDIATELY after the flush so no character ever has washed their hands. (Ew). So many tropes to satirize but I can't edit for shit. I fervently hope Honest Trailers, Pitch Meetings and their ilk one day get to proof read scripts before and during shooting to sort this out
I mean…

I have not seen the movie but eveyone in it acts like Jesse Plemons, I am in
I saw this movie in the theaters. When Plemons' character shoots the first guy, I heard the audience gasp. The sound for the guns is MUCH louder on the big screen, which added to it. Civil War is a movie you HAVE to see on the big screen.
The people with me jumped, it was that loud. This video definitely doesn't do it justice.
