  • What is meditation? What is the goal of meditation?
    Meditation is the inner portion of yoga.
    Yoga is a sanskrit word which means unity, union.
    There are two kinds of yoga. One type of yoga is when you put two plus two and get four. That is also called yoga. But this is not the type of Yoga.
    There is another type of union when you mix sugar and water and you cannot separate it afterward. When you put two apples and two apples you can separate them again. But if you mix sugar and water it becomes inseparable.
    That type of unity is Yoga. That very word yoga comes from this unity, unification.
    00:00 Yoga is unification
    01:37 Yoga turns your attention inside

    I am surprised how often I need to be reminded of these principles. After years of meditating, hearing this elementary explanation of what meditation is has had just a powerful effect on me as it did in the beginning, perhaps even more so! How easy it is to lose sight of one's mission. Thank you, Dada, for this video, it is exactly what I needed to reawaken my meditative practices. Namaskar

    Meditation is present moment awareness. The idea of what kind of person you want to be is derived from your own experience. You already are that person. In other words, be aware of what you are in this present moment. Stop imagining otherwise. Simple as that. You don't need exercises in order to realize this.

    Thank you for the simple & powerful insight Dada. I am practicing basic meditation techniques & I would to ask a question. Is there an option to unify my meditation practices with various concepts such as “becoming powerful”, “becoming open”, “sharing love”, “being patient”, “being caring & compassionate” etc?
    Can I meditate on these notions of life or do I simply meditate & follow the breath & unify myself to be calm & alert in the meditation without focusing on a concept which I want to attain & share with the world?

      When meditating, concentrate on the mantra meaning and try not to be distracted by your body. Some tips are there in the video:

      It is also good to put daily asanas into practice for strengthening the body and the nervous system. You can find asana classes on our channel.

    what you are referring to is the power of imagination. which is potential power. if you are able to execute it, it becomes an actual power. no further comments, because it would be way too long.
    maybe just a warning. the road to hell starts with good intentions. the principle "as you think, so you become" is at the center of samyama and acquiring the siddhis, which is ok if you are able to let go of that, and very very few can. the Yogies of the past ( Krishna times) were feared by common people because they used their supernatural powers to benefit themselves and often harm others. they were black magicians of the east. they would use many methods and technics, but the most prevalent one was "as you think, so you become". more refine thinking leads to power and the power corrupts. Yoga is ultimately about going beyond the mind and its powers. Yoga leads to liberation, freedom from the mind, and from all the personas to the real you. you can still use your mind when needed, and you can still put on the mask, but it is your choice.

    @borisnahalka3027 Před rokem

    Sanscrit word Yoga comes from the root "yug" meaning unity and possibility to steer, to navigate. but this is just a side note, just to say hello. what I want to address, even before I watch this video is the absurdity of its title. Persona in greek means a mask. so you want to trade the present mask with some other mask? the mask you like? the mask you are comfortable wearing? sure you can do it. in fact, you are doing it every day. you are wearing different masks in front of different people in different situations. and it's ok. it is like wearing different clothes for different occasions. the question is: does it have anything to do with spirituality? no. wearing a mask/clothes you always wanted to wear accomplishes nothing.
    the 2nd part of this title is equally absurd. why? because theory and meditation never met and will never meet. there are principles that when followed can lead to meditation, but that is not a theory. theory in any shape or form is a product of the mind. meditation goes beyond the mind. there are 112 doors to enter the meditation and you can have theories about these doors, but the door is just an entry point not the space beyond it. this space, the meditation is pure and no thought or theory can pollute it.
    now, let's see the video.
