    Tried them in a set of tires and had no issues, they worked fine. A couple things to note: it may be easier to put in while changing tires but if using tire irons it is easy for them to spill out in the process and also stick to the bead lube while installing/wrestling tire on. Also the special valve core is a bit longer and will not work with short valve stems. Just need to keep valve in an upper position when adding air to avoid any beads getting caught in the regular core. Thank you for your channel, I have learned a lot from you!

    Hi Del. Been using these for years and years. Great bit of kit. Wheel permanently balanced no matter what. You won't go back. They can be reused in next tyre. Pour in side of tyre before fitting on rim.

    I must admit I have never even heard of Dyna Beads before, look forward to hearing your opinion of them. I have heard of tyre gloop that self repairs punctures on tubeless tyres and also provides self balancing of the wheel. Thankyou both, Del and Penny, for sharing this information.

    I haven't tried Dyna Beads yet, may give it a go on the next set of boots for the Indian Scout. Melly and I swear by Ride-On which is a similar concept but it's fluid and not dry beads. Was going to do Dyna Beads in the past but we decided on Ride-On as it's also a sealant. It won't freeze in extreme temps and with the exception of really large punctures, it can get you to safety if the tire picks one up. The only down side is it's a mess to clean out of the rim when you change tires. I can see how the Dyna Beads would be a better solution in that case. I think for us going forward, maybe we use Dyna Beads on the Speedmaster and Scout and keep the Ride-On for the Royal Enfield Himalayan's. Great video as always and sage words at the end. Cheers!

    I used that type of balancing method on some off-road tires. It worked fantastic. The only issue was if there is a tire repair they can stick to the glue. Baby powder on the inside of the tire at the repair can limit this.

    Fascinating, I'm so glad that you are willing to experiment with an open mind; you never know until you try, right? I admit to being vaguely skeptical all my life about these things, but no personal knowledge, so I keep quiet lol. I guess for me, a lot of it has been the wonder of a flat tire removal/repair out in the boonies or on a trip, and there's no hope of any air supplies here not having lots of moisture in them (northern BC Canada). Would have been criminal to glop weights on those beauties, aye!

    I had liquid balancer in my truck tires and work fantastic. Wintertime, cold spell takes time to warm up to actually balance. I was little skipical using Dino beads in motorcycles due fact I’m deaf, can’t hear if something gone wrong, or moisture like you said…. For safety sake for me stay with static balancing….BUT…. Im sure they be great riding in hot dry summer. Sometimes boggles my mind how that stuff actually balances the tires. I can’t put the math or physics in my head. LOL

    Del, as others have said it is easier to put them in when the bead is broken but be careful not to let them get stuck to the tire lube. I’ve seen them embedded in the bead and worse I’ve seen them launched out by the air. My system is after seating both beads l’ll break the bead again on one side and pop the tire up on the duck head with an iron; makes a perfect little opening to pour them directly in past the lube; not a single stuck or launched bead since I started that.

    I'll be interested to see how that pans out Del? As you say, plenty of thumbs-up from the internet, so should be ok? One thing came to mind though: If anyone applies them to their tyres themself using that method (directly via the valve stem) and then later on gets a new tyre or a tyre repair at a tyre specialist, then they might want to let them know before they find out the hard way and get beads all over their garage floor! 🙄 Good luck with the rest of the project. 🙂

    They put them in my wheels during the last tire change, and I've put about 3K miles in on the bike since on my '19 Triumph Speed Triple RS 1050. I was admittedly uneasy to read that they were used (I had dropped the wheels off and then picked them up), but I will report they have been perfect in performance up to maximum speeds and spirited riding along with all-around road use. I am now a believer.

    I've been using these for 10 years without any issues. Sometimes the tube does clog up, but I've found that a quick shot of air into the tube clears it easily. Keep a shop vac handy when you break the tire down to suck the beads out before they get all over the shop floor. They like to run away, like a 10mm socket!

    Interesting.
    I WAS going to say it would’ve been good to balance them using your normal method; and then using the Dyna Beads to check the balance vs the traditional method. ( I’m sure you could’ve temporarily taped etc some weights to your rim without damaging them).
    Then I realised you couldn’t generate the rotational speed to create adequate centrifugal force to make the little buggers work their magic.
    Does that mean they won’t balance until the wheel is doing a certain RPM?
    Interesting.

    • @Moonfleet41

      I can pretty much do that, kind of.. I know the wheels had 20g front and 30g rear, and haven't changed or removed the tyres.. and when i come to replace them, i will ask the tyre guy to spin them up on his machine and tell me how accurate they now are..! and yes of course, they do need to spin to balance, so ill be able to tell when riding the bike if they're working or not..!

    Wouldn’t centrifugal force push them all out evenly inside the tire so if the tire was originally unbalanced wouldn’t it still have the same imbalance while spinning. It looks balanced on a bench because they weight down the tire and stops the originally heavier side from being down. This has add a sticker for more hp vibes to me. But as you stated at the end just my opinion.

      If it's a dry plug with no stickiness, like the rubber doughnut ones, they should be fine, but if there's any glue or sticky residue, then yeah of course they'll all be attracted to it!

      You're right, it does seem like witchcraft, but I guess the simple science behind it works in theory... I guess I'll find out soon enough, the wheels had 30g and 20g of weight respectively when they were stuck on, so I'll soon know right away if they're not working!

      As they are dynamic in their function, the wheel needs to spin at high speed to distribute them, I guess hence the name Dyna Beads... but if you go on their website via the link I left below the video, there's a short video graphic demonstrating the principle!

    Have you seen the American “say no to balance beads” video. It says they break down the inside of the tyre. Shows a tyre with loads of rubber bits inside caused by the balance beads. Maybe this isn’t an issue but I wouldn’t use them.

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  Před 8 měsíci

      One of the reasons I didn't buy new tyres was I'm curious about these, so as these will wear out within a season I'll be able to see exactly what they do myself, rather than be influenced by somebody else, as I said in the video.

    Here in the United States the balancing beads are frequently used for large, commercial vehicles with large tires (semis and other combination vehicles). I've used them on my passenger vehicles for years (most tire shops will use them upon consumer's request). They're non-abrasive on the interior of the tire carcass, and they continue to do their job as the tire wears. They're also good for use on off-road vehicles, as there's no danger of shedding wheel weights in deep mud or other rough terrain. Also, the tire shops here in the US will frequently put a special valve cap on the stem to let tire technicians know there are beads in the tires. The only time the beads are a failure is when someone makes a bad life choice and uses Slime to stop a leak. In addition to making a mess of the inside of the tire, the Slime will glue the beads to one area, and you'll never get the tire balanced again until you unmount the tire and cleanse the inside of the carcass.

  • @andydawson2070
    @andydawson2070 Před 8 měsíci

    Hi Del, never even heard of these, I guess my only concern would be one of ecology. If they are plastic beads, then they could contribute to plastic waste going into the environment. Then again I don't suppose the stick on weights get recycled either. Hey ho. Hope they work for you. Have a great weekend.
    Andy.

    • @Moonfleet41
      @Moonfleet41  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Not so buddy, they're actually ceramic, not plastic, that's what makes them heavy so on that basis I guess they're inert like any other stone... and of course the stick on weights which once upon a time were lead, will end up in the environment too... all products have a footprint aye mate?
