    Hey Blair! Mega fan with good intentions here. If youre concerned about extensions causing thinning switch back and forth between the extensions and wigs. As a Black woman I’ve been wearing different types of heavier and lighter extensions my entire life and they do slightly thin your hair especially more sensitive spots like the hair by your temples. Spacing out the extensions with wigs gives your scalp a break from tension. I hope this message is well received. Your hair looks aloooooot healthier and I’m super happy for you, but with thinning and extensions prevention is better than cure. Love you!! Also please wear special glasses while doing kenzi that shit is bad for your eyes ❤️

    I’m so glad he told you no. I know that sounds terrible but he’s saving your hair. Ask him to gradually move your hair from chunky highlights to babylights over time and it will blend better. Schwarzkopf Blond me bleach has a bond “builder” in it and is better for your hair. Also try unite’s daily blond maintenance line it will hold your toner better and is more gentle on bleached hair smells awful though.

    Veteran blonde here! In case this information is useful for anyone, for years I spent a fortune on the best hairdressers and products, and did the whole no heat thing, and my hair was always damaged and wouldn’t grow past my boobs.
    When I started bleaching my own hair (not sitting under heat like the salon, and watching it minute by minute so it never over-processes, rather than them setting an alarm and leaving you to work on other clients) and sleeping with my hair in braids and a silk bonnet (so much better than pillowcase!), my platinum hair is in crazy good condition and has now grown almost to my waist. Not wearing my hair out everyday where it gets tangled has also been a game-changer.
    It’s simple advice I ignored for ages, but once I finally did it, I’ve saved so much money and have never been happier with my hair :) good luck! ❤️🌸

    My story: I was platinum blonde for 12 years and last year I got so sick of having my hair so damaged that I decided to cut them to chin lenght and let them live and heal. I realized my hair is actually not the priority in my life. I rather focus on being healthy overall. I do get highlights once in 6 months and that's enough for my satisfaction. I'll rather have brown healthy hair than frizzy damaged yellowish looking noodles on my head. Think about it... your hair will always fall off if you keep damaging it, just leave them alone for 2 years and you'll see miracles. You still will be pretty with shorter and highlighted hair.

    • @dopaminefiend6182
      @dopaminefiend6182 Před 2 lety +3

      I did the same! I died my hair a neutral color closer to my natural tone, and then I left it alone for over three years. Not dye, no bleach, no heat at all, it grew the longest it had been since I was 10 years old!! Then I got some highlights and my hair was fried 😭 had to cut around 8inches because I can’t stand the feeling of dry ends. It’s been a year now, still trying to grow it out 😩 I will never touch it again, only getting baby lights every 12 months to blend my regrowth

      @@dopaminefiend6182 exactly, I hate the feeling of fried hair. It gets so separated and thin at the bottom that it makes me so mad that I always cut it off. Also to find a good hairdresser who actually cares for your hair is a must. Over-bleaching is a number one thing to avoid and hairdressers who do that are not what I call professionals.

      I didn’t dye my hair at all for 5-6 years. It is naturally very dark. I didn’t like it at all sadly. I just started going very blonde. But I found a blonde specialist and we have a really good plan. My hair is soft and weirdly I have less breakage than I did before without dying it at all. I think it’s a combo of how she is doing the blonde plus the products I am using. 😊

Do a few pumps in your hands and go through mid length to ends. Then whatever is left on your hands, smooth with the palms of your hands at the top of your head. Very lightly and it will lay down any breakage so nicely and make your hair feel so soft and not greasy looking at all!

    KEY TIP FOR ANYONE: If you want your hair to grow faster instead of gradually you need to...
    1. stop applying heat
    2. remove extensions
    3. take a break from bleaching your hair
    4. take supplements (biotin, collagen, iron)
    5. try using a product that has minoxidil (i.e. Rogaine)
    6. at home hair masks once or twice a week (i.e. macadamia nut oil, almond oil)
    Hair growth is not magic. If you completely gave a break to your hair for 3 months you would achieve the results you want.

    I was blonde for a very long time and used to do literally anything to keep my hair as light as possible - my hair was (obviously) not in good condition at all 😭 What I found helps is doing a coconut oil mask or rice water mask every so often. If you are using keratin treatments be careful not to use them too often bc they can cause breakage. Also beware of hats ( dad hats mainly) ! Even though it covers roots, if you wear them too often they can contribute to breakage. Ps. Love your videos ❤️ I'm a Scorpio Mercury and Venus too! 💀

  • @aryastar2464
    @aryastar2464 Před 2 lety +8

    Girl I’ve had all the extensions- k tips are my favorite too, and I love going platinum. Just sharing some tips I’ve learned from doing hair and personal experience with extensions:
    Some of the hair you see coming out at the roots is the hair you would naturally lose (literally 1/3 of our hair is in the process of falling out and the other 2/3 are either in a growth or living phase- it’s just how hair grows) That being said, excessive tension can pull out ‘living’ hair from the roots.
    Careful maintenance is the key- loosely putting your hair up while sleeping, silk or satin pillowcases, gentle brushes, sulfate free shampoos, gently washing the roots- no friction! (slow deliberate zig zag motions will get the oils from between the bonds and stimulate blood circulation in the scalp, start at the nape with shampoo and work your way up to your crown and hairline, the length doesn’t need as much shampooing as you would think, and seriously, no friction- it’s going to blow out your hair’s cuticles and put too much pressure on where the bonds are at your scalp).
    Air drying is best, but if you’re going to blow dry- use the cool setting so it doesn’t melt the bonds (ikyk they’re applied with heat- so naturally, heat will weaken them too)
    Alcohol based products like hairspray and aerosol dry shampoos will also weaken the bonds, so only use those on the length- bumble and bumble makes a good powder dry shampoo, if you need one.
    and most of all- no boy is worth losing any hair over, no matter how fun it is or how good it feels- if he pulls too hard, cut him tf off from touching your luscious mane- he’s not the one who’s going to have to get it fixed, you are.
    I hear you about the roots, I’m in the same spot, but trust- it looks good and shadow roots are in rn…
    You’re on the right track!! And your hair is looking gorgeous, beautiful!! 😘

I started using coconut oil to soak my ends in and such and then started using it on my scalp too not knowing anything about hair and hair growth and my hair has grown over a foot since Oct of 2021. And last week actually, I started googling hair growth oils and coconut oil is one of the best to get the hair growth boosted as well as peppermint, tea tree oil and rosemary. Funny, I use tea tree oil and peppermint stuff for fleas for my Dog and her hair is silky smooth! lol

    I've had blonde hair for over 8 years now, it's literally buttcrack lenght lol and it keeps growing like a weed, I do get it done at the salon 6-12 months, I get balayage with highlights so even when it grows out it still looks great. I tried a bunch of shampoos from expensive to drugstore, atm I love the moroccanoil the most, I use olaplex maybe once a week or every two weeks because it makes my hair feel super oily and heavy and i literally have no volume with it. I drink a bunch of vitamins (yes they do help) my nails grow annoyingly fast as well because of them. I actually haven't used any heat tools in over 2 years, my hair air dries and then I brush it(tho i want to get the dyson once it's finally in stock). Silk pillowcases and having your hair in a braid when you sleep helps a lot too. Getting trims whenever you see split ends is crucial (haven't gotten any for months now tho) . People always say that blonde hair is damaged but that's not the case lol, if you take good care of your hair it will look and be healthy. Ps, I have light honey blonde hair.

    I've been going between blonde, pink, purple, grey and blue hair for 10 years with dark brown hair naturally. Only had a major hair break once and gave me a crazy mullet. The pain is really and I think most of us go to far at least once and then learn hopefully 😆

    i used to bleach my hair blonde religiously but it got so dry, brittle and dead that decided to go the extreme and dyed my hair brown and stop using any heat and my hair has never looked or felt better. it's soft, shiny, healthy and easy to brush and never falls out now. it seems scary and will take time to get used to the change but the long term benefits r so worth it!!!!!!

    I used to bleach my hair out for years. Then my roots recently turned black also. And I just embraced that and have been dying my hair cool toned black since. The only thing I regert is that people tell me I have the same hair color as my dog's fur, when I walk her lmao. She's got very pretty 😍 fur though!

    Did you ever thought of having blond extensions and then not bleaching your actual hair, so the extensions kinda work as highlights? Does that make sense? Maybe that way you could grow it really really healthy and then bleach it again once its long again.

    Hey b, just heard you say you like to wave your head around a lot and I want to say to be careful doing that because I'm going through hair loss right now caused by a bad prescription and I noticed the most hair loss the morning after a night out at a rave where I was doing the most and swinging my hair around a lot so that just stuck out to me when you said it because I literally thought it was all the physical damage to my hair I had done the night before but I've since realized it was the med I was taking but still I like to think I wouldn't have lost as much if I had been gentler with my hair that night kay that's all love you bye

      Ahhh I took biotin and it made my skin go so bad. I already have problematic skin in terms of spots/adult acne, which I sort of managed to get under control. I still get the occasional break out but when I attempted to take biotin my skin hated me, which was so sad because my hair fell out after being severely anaemic and I was desperate for it to work. I'm not sure what the reason behind it is, but apparently it can effect your skin sometimes
