    I'm a new customer and have my PC polish kit arriving in a few days. I know showing off what you sell is great marketing but your tutorials are great and have given me tons of confidence.

    I have a large scratch across my front windscreen caused from the window wipers rubber coming off. How would I know if Polish will be able to remove it?

    • @pwrshots
      @pwrshots Před 6 lety

      no way it will come off. all you will do is add more scratches. trust me been there done that. automotive glass has a film on it to keep it from shattering. I have gotten stains off f plate glass much easier. i'v also tried clay bar. Big fail. I'm gong to try this on my 2004 Nissan.(passenger side). that windshield is already a lost case. Lol

      It can definitely be done, but it's best to hire a professional.

    Is there something I can use besides clay if I don’t have glass polish?

    • @autogeek
      @autogeek  Před rokem

      Any good abrasive automotive polish can still work on glass.

    Thanks for a good video!
    Got a question tho, Is it different to polish glass in the fact that you do not have to break down the polish until it flashes like you should on paint, or did you not break it down since this is just for demonstration purposes?

    Can the same process be used on home windows?

  • @johnchallenger3204

    I would love to see these windows when it is dark - it's the only way to confirm there are no streaks. How much product does he use ffs? What about the corners of the windows? The edges? What about the recessed glass that you see the dirt on when the window is half down?

    • @439530
      @439530 Před 4 lety

      Use this on all the spots he missed. But I can say that if you use a IPA or mineral spirits after using the polish you should not have any oil residue left. Otherwise you shouldn’t have any streaks that’s what the polish does.

    When I wipe the windows, I always get black residue on the cloth from the rubber seals around the glass. No matter how hard I rub the rubber seals, the black residue stays, how do you deal with that?

      Adam's Polishes Tire and Rubber Cleaner

    • @439530
      @439530 Před 4 lety

      It’s like cleaning a tire. You’re gonna be there all day. It’s not worth it.

    • @439530
      @439530 Před 4 lety

      It’s not worth it to put some all purpose cleaner or anything other than car shampoo to clean then because the overspray on the windows will kill you when you try to buff it all off.

    Is glass polishing more effective than use a clay bar to remove surface contaminants?

    • @autogeek
      @autogeek  Před 7 lety +10

      You would still need to use clay to remove the surface contamination, the polishing will remove light scratches from the glass.

    Can this be used on shower glass that has coating on it?

    • @439530
      @439530 Před 4 lety

      A glass polish may only be good on glass and if it goes on coating it may not work but will definitely do something to the residue. Most polishes aren’t coating safe as they’re made to go through the toughest residue and coatings too.

  • @ripster9713
    @ripster9713 Před 7 lety

    Wouldn't a rotary buffer work better and faster?

    • @autogeek
      @autogeek  Před 7 lety +1

      We recommend a orbital polisher cause a rotary will produce heat.

    • @439530
      @439530 Před 4 lety

      If you’re that good with it an have experience. Otherwise it’s a bad idea because you’re gonna burn through it like the guy said.

    side view mirrors? same procedure?

    • @MikeGDetailing
      @MikeGDetailing Před 7 lety +4

      Be careful with side view mirrors. The reflective coating is thin. I've burned my own with a compound and to aggressive of a pad on a porter cable. I would recommend doing it by hand with light pressure enough to remove any water spot. Then seal the mirror.

  • @carlhill5230
    @carlhill5230 Před 7 lety

    What brand pad was use on the DA?

    • @439530
      @439530 Před 4 lety

      Griots garage sells a dedicated glass polishing pad. But I think they would find the most abrasive pad in the old days.

    WHAT ABOUT THE INSIDE ?

    • @josiepinaesparzaseele115
      @josiepinaesparzaseele115 Před 6 lety

      I have the same question

    • @gravitygear
      @gravitygear Před 6 lety +2

      Don't. Especially if you have tint. Use a good, high quality, tint safe window cleaner. Your inside glass shouldn't be getting wet all that much. If it is, you have bigger problems.

    • @439530
      @439530 Před 4 lety

      It may cut through the tint. I always use it for my front windshield in the inside because it doesn’t have any tint. But I would just use a regular glass cleaner on the sides (inside). Sometimes some all purpose cleaner or hyper dressing overspray will get on the inside in that case I use a bunch of clean microfiber towels and glass cleaner to cut through.
