Polishing glass will help clean the surface by removing acid rain spots, hard water spots, road film, and stubborn bird stains. It can also help to remove fine to medium windshield wiper/grit scratches and swirls. You can do this by hand or with a machine polisher in combination with a rayon pad designed for glass.
Cover the vehicle surfaces and trim around the glass. (Glass polish will stain black trim)
Apply a small amount of the polish to the glass polish pad.
Work thoroughly on the glass surface in overlapping motions.
Clean surface thoroughly when complete.
Wipe down with an IPA solution like CarPro Eraser to remove polishing oil residue.
Pour a few drops of CarPro FlyBy Forte glass coating over the supplied application pad.
Apply in circular motion across the glass. DO NOT WIPE OFF.
On a windshield: repeat steps 6 and 7 (2 more times - 3 coats total). On side windows, only 1 layer is needed.
Using the same applicator (but no additional coating) repeat step 7 buffing off any trace of residue until the surface is 100% transparent and clear.
Apply coating to wiper blades and let the blades stand up for 10 minutes.
Keep the surface dry for 4 hours and do not use the wiper blades for 24 hours. Do not wash the car for 3 days.
CarPro FlyBy Forte fully bonds by penetrating the top surface of glass, merging and transforming it into a hydrophobic smooth surface. It will not allow chattering, wiper noise, or degradation of the glass. Expected durability is up to 2 years.
It’s easy to apply, resists chemical from pH 4 to 12, and is suitable for any glass type: automotive, marine, aviation and more.

What about the DA polisher?
Can this process be done for side view mirrors as well?
Hello Pan,
Can you please tell me if I can use a claybar in my car windshield and also in the plastic front and rear bumper?.
I already searched this question a lot but I didn't find any conclusive answer.
Much appreciated 👍😉
You can use a claybar on exterior glass, and on all painted/clear coated surfaces (paint, wheels, painted bumpers, etc).
One of my favorite youtubers to watch. I’ve learned so much from watching your videos and ordered most of the products that you’ve recommended for certain applications. Also I am a huge fan of The Rag Company and will only use micro fibers from them👍🏼
Thanks for your support and positive feedback Tristan!
I've done this process completely and wowww...It removed all of wiper scratches...Thanks PAN...Thanks CarPro...
Thanks Ali !!
While searching for videos on how to use CarPro Ceriglass, yours was the only one that showed the final results. Thank you for informative videos.
Thanks!!
finally a decent ceriglass tutorial. thanks Pan
Thanks! I also noticed there wasn't too much information on glass polishing so I decided to do an easy to understand tutorial. :)

@@PanTheOrganizerhello. When using these pads with a DA. How do you wash them afterwards or do you throw away these glass DA pads? Do you throw them in the washing machine?

You should detail a really old and bad condition car i think. Would be fun too see.

My channel is currently one of the biggest car detailing channels on CZcams, with almost 200,000 subscribers and 20 million views. All that in under 3 years since I started my first video in late April 2016. :)
I have been detailing cars for over 21 years and wanted to share my passion and knowledge with my viewers. I mainly do high end new car details, but my viewers once asked me to do an older car so they can see the process.
You can watch me detail a 12 year old Toyota Corolla that had never been detailed in this video: czcams.com/video/7zqovDt7NIU/video.html

I am from India. I am searching for a vdio like this. I used to follow your tips from last 2 years. Itz very much helpfull. Thank you
Wonderful step by step explanation !! thanks for your great videos.
Thanks I appreciate it!
Pan, thanks for the great videos! Couple of questions.
1. How do you know when the coating is starting to wear down and needs to be replaced?
2. What steps do you take to remove the coating when it is time to refresh?
3. As the wiper blades wear, is there a need to reapply to ensure non-chatter? Assuming if you replace your wipers annually, you would apply the coating on the new set?
Hi Paul. Thanks for the kind words about my videos. Here are my answers to your questions:
1. It depends on your consitions and mileage. 6 months to a year seems reasonable.
2. Same way as in this video.
3. Yes you should apply a bit of coating on new blades.
Another great tutorial, Pan there’s a reason why your on top for detailing channels. Thank you for saving me time. I do not have to go through the sea of other channels when I know that you will have answers that I am looking for.
Let’s go! 😁🙌🏻 Thanks man. I work hard to produce my videos so it’s nice to see you guys enjoy them.
And with 800 videos on my channel so far, and new ones added twice weekly, you will always find what you’re looking for on my channel.
Great video! I love this kind of work on your car. My windows are already 5 years old so I will definitely go for it! I have some experience from applying UNC-R coat a few years back and I loved it. Gtechniq, Carpro and Gyeon are my favorite. I can advise all users to invest in polishing machine like Rupers or Lare. They will pay off and will give you an option to carry out all sort of works around your car always in 100%. Manual polishing is too much unpredictable and will not give you so good results so if you do it every let say 1.5y better to do it in best way with best results! Cheers from Poland!
Wow, been waiting for this one for a while! There aren't many good videos on glass polishing..
Thanks! Yeah I had noticed that there weren't many good tutorials on glass polishing and ceramic coatings, so I wanted to do a simple one showing both manual technique and machine polishing and keep it simple for all to understand. :)
Pan TheOrganizer What would you say this difference is between this and a factory coating that a lot of cars come with now? Is the factory coating more durable in nature due to being applied during the actual manufacturing process, like the screens on smartphones?
Looking good man.
Thanks for making very informative video
Thanks Shaukat!
Excellent video Pan, will defiantly follow your steps, thanks!
Thanks Jeff!!
Thank you for the video! It was so helpful!! I stupidly wet-sanded my ceramic coated windshield thinking I could remove a drop of the coating that I didn’t level and I scratched the glass. I followed your steps to polish the glass and it removed all the scratches!

I have been waxing my windshield for 30 years. Started doing it after waxing them by accident. Clean them well, wax em and some elbow grease. Done. Works like a charm.

ANOTHER GREAT VIDEO PAN. TOP MARKS MATE 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾😊😊😊😊😊
I did exactly the same as in the film - great effect! Thanks Pan for this movie!
Thanks!
At the end of the video you mention using this technique on boats and airplanes. Boats and airplanes tend to have plexiglass rather than glass windshields. Plexiglass is much more prone to scratching, very sensitive to the heat generated during polishing, and is damaged by chemicals like IPA. Perhaps you could do a video on polishing and protecting plexiglass windshields.
Hey pan, I recently polished my glass and followed the steps in the video, and while it did remove the wiper marring, it introduced a load of small swirl like scratches. Just wondering what can be done about this. Thanks
Sounds like you didn't clean the glass very well. Clay bar before helps a lot
Im tuned Pan, Lets go..!!!🤙🏽
Let's go!!! :)
Thank you so much for this video, this explains my question the other day,Wish you a Happy New Year.
Hi pan great video what can u use to maintain the glass like u would with a cc on your car? Reload?
I'm also curious if you are using a reload or an Sio2 topper for maintenence or even the elixir?
Highly recommended putting reload on wiper blades to reduce chatter also. Found it helps
You don't need to do anything for this glass coating. Just wash and dry.
@@PanTheOrganizer Really? I've had this exact coating on my 2013 Audi Allroad aka the #vancityallroad for few months and I've found it looses it's effectiveness after about a month or so. I have been testing out sio2 on it and of course you get the hydrophobic properties back.
I assume this coating is like others if you don't like it or you aren't happy with it you can apc/superclean and or polish it off with the DA?
Pan TheOrganizer awesome
Hey Pan, Thanks for making all this great content! I'm always glad to see when you put up a new video. Could you do a follow-up video at 6, 12 and 18 months just to show how the product you've applied has been holding up? I tried a previous suggestion from another CZcamsr to use a product I already had in my car cleaning bucket. I don't think that option held up very long, probably a few months at best. It was probably a reasonable time and effort to performance ratio, but I'm curious if doing something like your video here will yield better long term results for time, effort and cost. Also curious to see how a hydrophobic ceramic coating holds up to Canadian salted roads during winter. =)
Thanks Thu. In the meantime, you can watch another video I made about a glass sealant that's even easier to apply and will give you 5 to 6 months real world protection. I have been using this for years, including on my own cars. Aquapel. Here's the video: czcams.com/video/CN-WYF3Nnak/video.html
Another perfect video my friend. Thanks.
Thanks!
Thanks Pan for another great tutorial! What a start of the weekend!! I used Gyeon View on my glass. So far very happy with it. A little similar to the kit from Carpro.
Thanks Jochen. Yes there are many good glass coatings kits from CarPro, Gyeon, GTechniq, Fictech, etc.

Hi Pan, is that the new Maxshine M15 pro? Looking forward to your review.
You have great eyes! :). I'm working on the final bits for the full review and presentation video, and am waiting on the green light from Maxshine to release it, as it's not available officially yet. :)
@@PanTheOrganizer I've been eyeing on that since I saw it from your SEMA video.. I can't pull the trigger as I am still waiting for your video. I can't find any decent review about the machine. Happy New Year, Pan!
Pan TheOrganizer wife pulled the trigger for me and got the M21 Pro from Maxshine in Wisconsin. Way smoother and quieter than my GG 6 inch. Can’t wait for spring to use it. They included 4oz samples of a compound and polish as well. Seems like a very quality machine. My pleasure. I’m pretty much the only big detailing channel over 870,000 subscribers that still replies to CZcams comments personally, every day as you can see.
I spend up to four hours each day just replying to comments. It does get overwhelming at times as I receive thousands of messages and emails daily, but I try to stay close to my audience as much as possible. 👍🏻
Well it was accident really and I'm extremely happy I did because a lot of these other you tube guys just give you part of the solution and a quick fix but not a detail process like yours it is extremely nice to see a person like yourself explain everything .I live in Montreal Quebec Canada very cold here I came from the island of Barbados I'm born there have you visited any Carribean islands if not you should and I'm sure your you tube must be everywhere .Thank you for making such important you tube videos .

Great video Pan!! Can you use a polish compound with a DA polisher if you don't have the products you are describing Pan?
Thank you very much for all the information and time invested sir. It does appear that with a "new 2019" formula, the coating process had changed a bit. Even though the directions on CarPro's website still mirror exactly what you did. But the box had a notation on the outside and a card on the inside stating that due to a new formula only 1 coat was necessary if you polish the glass.
Thanks!
