Today I’m going to share the fastest way to test for bowel disease and gut problems at home.
Bowel disease typically relates to your microbes. You have trillions of microbes in your gut, and there could be an alteration in the amounts or types of these microbes.
Fiber is important to help feed your microbes. However, even though many people might disagree, whole grains are not a healthy source of fiber.
You may also want to avoid functional fibers that are in certain products, including keto products. Vegetables are a great source of fiber, and they’re also very nutrient-dense.
There are three general categories of microbes living in and on your body. There are harmful microbes, friendly microbes, and neutral microbes.
A lot of the microbes in your gut can actually morph from neutral to bad. This can happen when the environment of your gut changes.
A few things that can change the environment in your gut are:
    ‱ Stress
    ‱ Antibiotics
    ‱ Glyphosate
    ‱ Drugs
    ‱ Junk food
    ‱ Artificial sweeteners
How to test for gut problems at home:
Step 1: Eliminate all fiber from your diet for three days
Step 2: Add the fiber back into your diet for three days
Step 3: Compare how you felt while you were consuming fiber and while you weren’t
If fiber is causing your gut problems and you have to cut it out, your microbes can still survive. If your body doesn’t function well with fiber-don’t consume it.
Fermented foods are fantastic for supporting your microbes. If you want to eventually introduce fiber back into your diet, try foods containing fermented fiber, like sauerkraut and kimchi.

I would like to make a point here. My adult granddaughter has Celiac Disease. Her entire life she has been in/out of mental hospitals with suicidal and depression issues. She was not even able to drive. Two years ago she was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. With her going GF, she no longer has the mental issues

.is off medication

..can drive

.and is studying to be an herbalist. What a COMPLETE change. What an AWESOME change. So, while
    gluten affects people physically

.it very well can affect a person mentally. Anyone with any type of mental issues SHOULD be tested for Celiac Disease, and take the diagnosis extremely seriously.

I had bowel problems all my life on and off and 5 yrs ago was diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer, luckily when they did the r/h hemicolectomy they also managed to repair the other damage the cancer latched onto. After 8 months of chemo ( which I don't wish on anybody !) I'm just out of my 5yrs and still here. I only knew something was wrong when I passed black stools, and was more tired than I'd ever been in my life. They removed a grapefruit sized tumour and some muscle and 5 lymph nodes. I would always recommend you check your stools if you have abdomen ache that just won't go away. Also if your bowel habits change and your REALLY tired get checked out asap 👍😉

The doctor referred me immediately to the hospital because she said she could feel harfness on my right side which didn't feel right plus the symptoms of chronic fatigue. They admitted me straight away and operated 4 days later after they'd told me it was serious, possibly stage 4 after C scanning me. Never been so shocked in my life but funnily enough I knew I was going to be alright. Remained positive and never let it enter my head it was stage 4. @@youtuber4802 Eating fiber for gut health is a myth. It can actually worsen it for many people, especially those who're susceptible to constipation and flatulence. Only positive I can find for fiber is that it can reduce the severity of blood sugar spikes, but you wouldn't really need that if you're eating very low carb and no sweets anyway. Currently, I don't eat any of the 4 foods I mentioned in my first comment, and base my diet around mostly meat and saturated fats, though I eat cooked veggies on the side, not raw. (cooked are easier on the gut) If I were you, I'd eliminate all grains and drastically reduce fiber intake and go meat based keto, to see if that helps.

If you do three days of no fibre and you feel markedly better, than you most likely DO have an Irritable Bowel Disease (don't know which one - there are several). Also, if when you add the fibre back in after three days and you feel worse again, then again - probably an IBD. If it's the other way around - worse with no fibre & better with fibre - then you most likely do not have an IBD. Hope that helps.

Armando, follow a ketogenic diet or a carnivore diet, research them. This way of eating heals a lot of health issues

@@miltonbates6425 I’m honestly not sure how to go about that. I tried to do keto many times but I got so depressed I couldn’t deal with it. I was raised from the moment I could eat to associate food with happiness. Every holiday, birthday, special occasion, movie night, etc. They all revolved around food. I feel like I’m addicted to food. I wish they had rehab for eating disorders.

The key to vegetable fiber is eating lots of fermented vegetables, Huberman lab did a great podcast about it.

Hi Dr Berg. Thank you so much for this video. I’ve had gut issues practically all my life, and they’re just getting worse. (I’m 54). I’ve cut out dairy, gluten and sugar since the start of December ‘22 and have begun to incorporate intermittent fasting. However I still suffer with chronic constipation, with lots of gurgling and rumbling in my stomach daily, and have had acne on my back since I was 11. I don’t eat any processed foods at all, just regular vegetables, meats, nuts, seeds etc. I would really like to try this test, but want to know what on earth am I supposed to eat for 3 days please? I can only think of fish, meat and eggs. So if you have any more suggestions then PLEASE do let me know. Thanking you in advance, and keep up this phenomenal work!

Hi, I'm trying this right now. Day one! After doing some research, I bought - as well as eggs, meat and fish - white rice, white pasta, white bread, bananas, melon, butter, milk, tofu, creamy/smooth peanut butter, canned/tinned green beans and canned/tinned (skinless) potatoes, canned/tinned (skinless) peaches. It's not much, I know, and these foods are abhorrent to me! I always eat healthily, and usually avoid foods like this like the plague. However, I'm feeling so poorly, and this seems like a fairly quick (only three days!), simple way of ruling out any IBD's. Hope that helps, and good luck 😊

You sound like me with the exception of constipation. Mine is diarrhea. The loud growling, gurgling all day and night is bad and it doesn't matter if I eat or fast for a day or 2. I cut out all gluten, dairy, sugars too. Didn't help. Now my doctor is scheduling me for a colonoscopy to look for colon cancer.

When I eat grains I feel sluggish, and my bowel movements are like rocks, when I eat cabbage and potatoes instead I’m full of energy and my bowel movements are softer.
I feel best when I consume Kiefer, combined with cooked veggies, like cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, potatoes. In a stew with some bone broth.
I also eat free range eggs and checking and grass fed beef, but it’s the carbs that seem to dictate my bowel health.
