    Items Used:
    Henry rubberized wet patch
    Trowel
    Rubber Gloves
    Screw Driver
    Repair mesh tape

    Thanks for taking the mystery away. I had all kinds of ideas in my head to patch a leaky roof to roof joint but this seems very simple. Now I just need to pick out a disposable shirt and old pair of jeans.

    We noticed the fabric was 100% polyester. Kinda expensive at $20 a small roll. We purchased 100% polyester curtains at Goodwill for a dollar and cut into 5 inch strips. 4 years later still no leaks.

    buy white granules to spread on top. Helps the patch last longer, protect it from uv damage.

    I don't now why everybody uses Henry's, when black jack is far superior, maybe because Home Depot only carries Henrys. Try applying Henrys to a wet surface with a dry putty knife, it will not stick to the wet surface, whereas Black Jack will displace the water and stick even in the rain-I've done it.

      There both garbage products honestly. It's a cheap store-brand equivalent that's nothing more than a cheapened version of the products roofers should be using. Karnak, Flintastic, Lucas, I'll even give Tamko a little bit of credit.
      If you want a roofing product, you go to a roofing supplier. Henry's and Blackjack are fine for a 5 minute DIY project but they won't hold up to the extremes as well.

      I notice the Henry adhesive doesn't dry. After 12 hours the rains came it started to leak! I think I'll try black jack

    • @RoofingFacts
      @RoofingFacts Před 4 lety +1

      @@a191015 So actually it shouldn't dry after 12 hours. the faster it dries, the faster it cracks (not 100% accurate but a general guideline to plastic cement) if it still leaked 12 hours later, either it wasn't applied right, or something else leaked. I've literally applied brands like Karnak or Lucas while in a flash flood and temp stopped a leak for a few weeks while we waited on materials or dry weather to complete.

      Colorado Consultants For Roofing thanks for the info. I had a roll on roof on my overhang But I made a mistake by putting asphalt shingles on it. That night it rain pretty hard and next morning the roof leak. So I used Henry roofing adhesive around the seams and it still leaks. So I think I should replace the shingles and use the roll on. The pitch of my roof is low I think shingle was drench in the puddle of water

    I used Henry's rubberized roof patch extreme conditions edition and it seemed to work well for about a year or two then my flat roof began leaking again. Plenty of roof patch has built up and I'm wondering what the best way would be to remove the old and reapply new wet patch. Perhaps a multi tool?

    could i use this for flashing

    • @templeton3504
      @templeton3504 Před rokem

      Theoretically it could be used as a flashing. Henry has a flashing CFAWP (cold fluid applied waterproofing). PMMA works well for flashing and detail work but you're not really going to find PMMA at your local hardware stores. Warranty wise I want to say it carries a 10 year. Henry products are nice in the sense this is the closest the average person can get to commercial grade but certainly not Soprema, Siplast or Carlisle to name a few. Although Carlisle does have residential use products too, just have to find it.
