Zeus and Hera could have enjoyed there lives to the Fullest if they just got a divorce.....
konransuru_tenshi I'd probably go insane as well if my husband cheated on me multiple times.
Tbf, Hera is the literal god of marriage.
Her staying with Zeus wasn’t just out of supposed affection, it was kind of a job requirement..
That would have literally destroyed Hera.
Yeah
But coudnt cuz i think zeus woudnt let that happen
Dionysus is also a god of death, rebirth, insanity, fluidity, dolphins, the sea, ecstasy, pleasure, drunkenness, psychedelics, rebellion, catharsis, and freedom from societal inhibitions/restrictions. But these characteristics were a lot more a part of Dionysus’s old persona before Classical Greece.
his tittle is mouthfull.
just call him the wine dude or party animal god.
fitting name, no?
In his orphic and mycenaean backstory his parents were Zeus and Persephone. Then Orphic Dionysus got compared to Zagreus but we don't talk about that-
Isn’t Thanatos the god of death or well the incarnation of death.
@@user-dr3bu9yi3h yes he is
thats really cool. He is a very interesting and intriguing God
Y'all saying you came here after a song. I'm disappointed, everyone should know about one of the most drunken party animals there ever was.
a kid did a presentation on Greek mythology and he was talking about how they liked drinking and the teacher was like “OK MOVING ON NOW” I like the song but I like the actual person better haha
What Song?
If Dionysus, Thor and Sekhmet all had a drinking contest who do you think would win?
Thor, he drank from the horn that was filled with the oceans, lowering sea level
Grey World That would create a blackhole
dionysus will win.
that dude smack those barrel harder than thor smack those frost giants.
@@razoredge8256 agree
Grey World never met a person who knew 3 types of mythology like me 😂😭
That thumbnail has awakened every last fiber of my bisexuality.
Everyone: "Why cant Zeus ever be faithful ugh"
Me: "Dayumm Dionysus is hot🔥"
I feel you.
Preach brother
I wish that Hera will get a life or get a lover of her own.
You want to tell hera that because I shore not
@@BloodyLuna20, she started the rebellion against Zeus.
She's not the one that cheats.
She can't she's the goddess of marriage and *fidelity*.
Loose lips sink ships,
But can sometimes lead to godship
So basically Dionysus was the first ever mpreg romance 😂
So he could keep a promise to his mistress but not promise to stay faithful to his wife?
Dionysus looks like he came out of incase art (thumbnail) thats how ganymede looked like but with black hair
I love your channel guys! Keep up the good work!😊👌👍
Keep up the awesome content man!
I love all your videos, I can't thank you enough , I was curious to know more about the Greek mythology ,it teased me for so long ,even that the course of thier events and the nature of it's gods is crazy different, unlike the Ancient Egyptians Mythology which I studied for years ,But your videos make it so simple to understand ❤️
Wow Hera, try punishing Zeus for a change would u
Hera is an idiot
She tried to once. She led an entire rebellion of Olympian gods against him.
Hecate or Circe next🙏, also first❤️🔥
Doesn’t Hercules eventually become a God? He’s was born of a mortal mother too
Thomas Sheehan-Corrigan yes
Yeah, but he had to die and go through a process after that to become one. Dionysus was born a full god instead of a demigod--but he's the only full god who had to go through a heroic path to obtain his place among the Olympians.
Dionysus died as a stillborn baby so Zeus just revived him
Ooops my last comment wasn't meant to be put as a reply to thomas Sheehan Corrigan... My bad dude I'm just frustrated and didn't see it was your thread i was responding in.
Nice video
Good video
i like this guys voice, its so good for teaching
Mythology is amazing
Fun fact. Dionysus literally means "the one who comes piercing through Zeus"
Hera wanted to punish but ended up giving pretty good life advice to Semele
By getting her to commit suicide?
The most unexpected reason got me here and I am so glad I learnt something new
Can you do a part 2
Good video. Zues is kinda good tho not all bad or ruthless
When are you going to continue with Alexander the Great? Only got to his rise as king so far!
Well they've got around 70 videos to get rid of the nudity so maybe a couple of months I mean this is just A guess but I think it's relatively accurate
Noooooo I love this though next can you do Athena
He already did
Herokini !gwe I know
@@giannagudehus982 ok
Please add subtitles also
can you explain the other version of Dionysius ? like Zagreus etc
..yk i live like 15 minuits away from his temple in lebanon but i didnt know until like 4 months ago.. i was mind blown like daymm hold onn its so mindblowing like i live near a greek gods temple and have been there
Who is the artist of the picture at 3:44?
Wasn't Dionysus a god of the underworld in the version of this religion that Predates the Greeks? Overlysarcastic Productions are the only people to do a video about that version of him so far, Do you think that you could do one.
kinda.
He was fused with Zagreus and turned into Orphic Dionysus.
1:04 Did you have to censor classical art in YT too?
We had to translate this text in Latin..
WHY didn't you post this a little earlier
The music is too loud
Oh My Vine!!! It's the WINE DUDE!!!!!!
I can’t tell if that’s a Percy Jackson reference, but
“If one more person, or horse, calls me the wine dude again, I will put them in a bottle of merlot!”
Yay
it's important to understand that though dionysus/osiris was the god of parties, intoxication & pleasure, he was NOT encapsulated by these motifs. 🍇🍷
it was only after the romans invaded greece/egypt that the deity's demeanor, along with many other gods', became distorted & reinterpreted.
originally, dionysus/osiris represented the RIGHT amount of intoxication/pleasure which, when rightly TEMPERED, could ease the mind, soothe the soul & fuel inspiration. 🍇🍷
however, once adopted by the romans, the deity largely became rebranded under the title "bacchus".
"bacchus" is the root word of the term "debauchery", and entails hedonism & drunkenness.
the roman empire birthed much of today's legal traditions, which is quite telling because to a large extent it was a secular realm.
as an empire, its entire ethos was largely usurped from the people it subjugated.
it wasn't until constantine publicly converted to christianity that the empire, for the first time, had its OWN religion.
but even then, christianity & its customs were SO similar to its pre-roman counterparts that it wasn't ever uniquely original.

Dionysus is so awesome and very cool.
Artemis plss
What about Artemis and her twin Apollo, born of Leto?
The Great and strong Herc was also a god and born of human mom, Alcamene.
i drink to that.
What a fool she could've asked to be Zeus's wife or a goddess
This reminded me of Ariel when she turns into sea foam
Im pretty sure who ever sees zeus in his real form is punished by spells and Ariel was gomorroh aka Lilith stolen by thanos and the like thumbellina for protection hidden
Aka belle. Turned into sea foam
Maybe like mother like daughter but perception is required and who comes before and last in actual experiences i write about them
Allpoetry
Wisepenny
What
Oh
Isn't Dionysius a Philosopher/Christian Writer
and Dionysus the god?
👍🏽
Also the God of religious experience and revelry. Aka Jesus. Who also was the God of Wine too.
Should have worn sunglasses
The Greeks Gods still exist because I was talking with a friend earlier this year when I saw a flash of light and that light seemed to enter my body and I fell instantly in love. It was cupid's arrow confirming that the immortal Greeks Gods are still watching humans in there trials and triumphs on Earth. Haha. Thanks Zeus and Cupid.
What?
@@nasomeeking1367 See Robert Cox book the elixir of immortality the drink of the Greek Gods a sparkling red powder that looks like red sugar and when diluted in white wine turns to amber nectar.
Hi

Dionysus - BTS
So your telling me that BTS wrote a song about a guy born from a thigh???
Well, Dionysus is the god of drinking and the song is all about drinking
Okie So, in some myths and what a lot of people go by, leg was actually a.... word used in place of something.... in those myths, Zeus sowed him into his ‘leg’ or his... balls.
That's not his origin, his origin lies far longer back in time, that's so superficial... omg
What?
Where are the Greek Gods today? What happened to them?
Cullen Ward they were never real.
@@mr.e7862 True... but still they vanished from myth and legend even religion.
Well now these gods are in our ancient Greek lessons along with homer's odyssey and iliada(idk how it is in English) and also in our 3rd grade history. (Im from Cyprus btw)
They were killed by kratos
Ares had a fight with them all and was indeafted. So Zeus asked him what it will take to end the madness. He told Zeus to cease contact with motals. So Zeus agreed and asked other gods to only operate in Olympus
Hi! I’m an army and I came after bts - Dionysus , How about you 🤪
