Bought one of these a month ago. Found it to be pretty accurate even though it has a somewhat cheap feel to it, something a gun at least $100 less would feel like. I also had issues with the magazines not wanting to stay put. Takes a little finess how to put them back in so that they do not come out. I've used the A17 ammo exclusively and after 1500-1600 rounds it has finally started to have issues with failure to feed and fire. Been shooting ALOT of prariee dogs with several over 300 yards and one at 415 yards. Because it's quieter then my 204 I've been able to get several follow up shots where I can walk them in as I see them hit. Exactly the reason I got the autoloader and why I had to ship it back to Savage to figure out the issues. Took it apart and cleaned it per the CZcams video and still jammed every other shot. Sure hope it gets cured and it's 1/3 the price to shoot as the 204 and although it doesn't blow up the pd's the way the 204 does, they are not coming back out of the home the next morning.
Lots of feeding issues. Not just old magazines but every savage magazine did not feed reliably in my rifle. Had to buy the metal lipped aftermarket mag " butler creek" for it to work. Was very frustrating purchasing a new rifle and it won't run correctly. I have a friend with same rifle and same issues!
Mine doesn't run worth a dang either even with multiple magazines. They don't fit right and the bolt rides over the round instead of picking up the case rim. This results in the bolt stopping short and denting the side of the case.
What is the stock call on the riffle. I have the a17 but it came with the regular stock with out the thumb hole . I wont like to buy the one you are useing with the thumb hole
I bought a box of cci 17 grain ammo and iv had 2 misfires out of 35 rounds . It these normal for these ammo. Because that's just not acceptable with I wont love to hear you advice on these, or any buddy who's reading these
CCI A17 is the worst from my point of view , because after 250rds of Hornady v-max polytip got no issues with the buttlerCreek mag otherwise the rotary stock mag is a pain in thy a**

How is it affordable. Ammo costs $ 20 per box of 50. ???? If you get ammo at bass pro maybe.
Just pick up a box of 200 rounds at my local walmart for $46+ tax, that breaks down to a little less than $12 dollars per 50.

I also have had problems with the factory mag. However, Butler Creek makes a 25 round mag and it work very well. I have two of them.

You wont regret it . I have the a17 and I'm very impressed with it ,and shell are affordable .
