Devs are working hard and no nonskilled/unproved labour is in the team
Props to the team for their no crunching, stress free enviroment.
Coding is like construction. Build hastily and you´ll be making excuses to consumers whilst ripping, removing and replacing your own product. Everyone is doing numbers with numbers in mind and then bridges fall (or tabula rasa flops; pick your metaphora).
I´m just happy somebody is doing games correctly

I dont know why Quests, NPC and Factions arent priority right now. Its kinda frustrating the route they took
its most likely because the game engine their running on probably isn't suited for that type of stuff yet, since there is most likely gonna be alot of humans then animals.

@@brendanhickey4955You might not know but there is a separate team working specifically on NPC humans only which means that yes waiting for build 42 will take forever but build 43 should take less than a year to come out after build 42 releases since its being worked on as well.
I've been hoarding zombie panties for the past few updates, I hope they add a merchant that will buy them off me.

I think I'm most excited to see the basements. Just think of the possibilities. I'm already planning my base in my head. And the animals. I have to have a dog.

It's kind of interesting, if you look at google maps, the town of March Ridge in the game is basically the suburbs a few blocks north of Fort Knox.
Who knows, maybe Fort Knox will absorb it in the future. It'll definitely be interesting to see.
Near the beginning of this year I had a dream I was playing a vr version of zomboid (which is inside as you think) but me and a bunch of people decided to go to a skyscraper and then build a bridge between two of them, sealing the 2nd one's stairs off to create this secret base in the sky. This was before I even knew about build 42; so I can't wait to see if I can recreate it in the game!
I love that indie stone will work with formosa group as they have experience in zombie games sounds
I'm stoked to listen to all the new songs, especially with Formosa on board; they're bound to be awesome.
The lighting change is not really hyped by people that play this game, but it's gonna be game changing, especially mixed with high rises and underground areas... Flashlights are about to be very essential.
I'm with you on that. Plus, I'm thrilled about the addition of belt-attachable flashlights. Having both hands free during a fight could make all the difference.

I would love to see HORSES and maybe with carts. They would be much better way of transport for long term survival.
Horses are currently not confirmed for the vanilla game but they said this update will make modding easier than ever so a horse npc mod would def come out.
As of now, horses haven't been confirmed for b42. It would be a welcome addition, especially considering all the farming changes being implemented.

I'm really excited about this update.
As someone who got into mapping for Zomboid pretty recently, I'm also excited about all those new tiles/objects we're going to get, that we can use in our own maps and obviously the higher levels and basements. And these 4 way ramps from the car basement clip? It gives me hope that we'll also get 4 way stairs. Having them only in two directions is what often keeps me from remaking either fictional or real life buildings. I couldn't even rebuild the building I'm currently living in as it features stairs in two directions with the second one being the exact oposite of the first one.

Would be absolutely epic and 90s music is by far my favorite decade.
However, I don't think it is possible for the official game due to what would be massively expensive licensing issues. I think GTA San Andreas probably went the most all out with this and even with their bajillions of dollars they had problems. Mods probably the only way.

9:05 yeah the music is system currently is decent but it has its flaws. sometimes your fighting like 20 zombies and you hear no music, and then all the sudden while your chilling at base the music starts going crazy and sounds like you are about to go war with a million zombies hahaha
With Formosa on board, they've got to nail the music and ambiance of each scenario in the game. I might be aiming high, but I'm hoping for immersion levels akin to The Last Of Us.
What I want for this update is optimization. Even though my pc handles this very easily, the gameplay still feels like there’s some kind of delay even if it’s just a solo game. 😢
Optimization has been one of their major focuses recently. Here's hoping they can nail it down!
As a Kentucky native, I think it'd be really cool to see Brandonberg added.
I'm really hopeful about that too. I'm almost certain it's coming to the game. I mean, it's too much of a coincidence that they've placed a town in the same location with a similar size and layout to real-life Brandenburg.
Looking forward to the lighting changes most. Nothing worse than busting out a wall in a pre-built building and the shadows remain where the room was
Totally, those lighting tweaks are gonna be a game-changer! But while we wait, you can always grab that mod "Light Switch Overhaul" to brighten up your rooms in the meantime.

They are adding skill trees with unlockable recipes for every skill currently in game so I’d say it’s probably coming.

pz 42 build require star new game on single player? I wonder if the uncovered parts of the map affect the number of animals, or if it will be possible to reset the world cells, I don't want to lose my character's progress
Hey, I've heard some folks saying that with B42 dropping all those new cells, our old saves might start acting up and not run so smooth. We gotta wait and see what the devs say though.

I think the game has enough starting locations but I would not complain if one of the new towns became a 5th starting location mostly to bring us closer to the new content but id rather it be kept at 5 at most, at least for unmodded starting locations.
yea definitely, itd be cool if we could start on that edge of the map but also have another town to explore since there will be at least 2 locations
I reckon I'd prefer having the option to start in any town or city. That way, I can dive into the vibe of the place right off the bat without traveling there. Usually, by the time you're ready to travel, you've got a car, guns, and leveled-up skills making life easier. But starting fresh in a new town without those perks adds a challenge and makes it more fun. At least that's my take.

im a little worried about hearing player noises. There's something about not having a voice that I just love. Hopefully it will be customizable and be able to be turned off. Surely it will, another reason i love this game is because of how customizable it is.
They aren’t really “voices” just panting from running,shivering and sniffing from cold,fighting noises etc.
We're still in the dark about the extent of customization for muting player vocals. They've mentioned we'll have control over it in the sandbox setting, but fingers crossed it'll be a toggle option that we can switch on and off at will.

I don’t think they have said anything but they did say the reason there isn’t true actions in vanilla rn is bc currently you can only sit north and east which will be fixed in b42

I like the animal population coming. Basically everything we've heard in the game - minus wolves and bears? - and the rat population in the cities makes it even more immersive.
Player grunts and voice effects? Looking more and more like isotropic DayZ around here :D
I personally would like to see some variants of houses. Basements? Cool. Attics? Even cooler. But actual military BUNKERS? EPIC. ...
More variants/versions of vehicles. Just a few, cmon. ...

There has been a lot of work done to this game. I personally can't say to add too much more besides variants to pretty much anything that they have included already or about to include. Whether colors or types (red or yellow screwdriver, or that pickup truck, was it four wheel?) or even styles (a floral couch vs plain color). I'm sure they had bicycles in that time era, those would be awesome if added.

Man, those ideas are all spot-on! Count me in for all of them, especially the idea of adding new car variations to the game. And a helicopter? That's just too cool to pass up. Here's hoping we get to see some of these implemented in the future!
I do wish wolves and bears were actually added, it would add some kind of danger to the deep wilderness instead of just some random shambler.
Maybe the bears could attack zombies for invading their territory or needing to eat?

Being able to adjust the animal population would be an awesome setting. Only so many animal types on the map at one time type of deal, or a set population in general.
The reward for having to defend yourself? Plenty of meats.
Blade sharpness? My splitting maul isn't sharp but I guarantee it will remove a hand. The axe and hatchet don't need to be sharp to impart blunt force trauma. Idk, seems like a waste of effort.
I imagine your character's strength is a significant factor in how much damage you can deal with a dull weapon. If your character is weak or has traits that affect their strength negatively, it might not pack as much of a punch. But hey, this is all speculation-we'll have to wait and see how this weapon overhaul pans out.
@@bladiuss yeah, amen to that: I'd rather have the update and swing with it (like all hip cats do) than not have it.
In my experience guys who aren't familiar with the maul will try to use strength and "crush it" (a good way to lose a foot or shin with an 8lb or 16lb maul) as opposed to letting gravity and the lever do the work.
I Hope they will make a console Version there is more player to play with

I wish they’d make games like darts and billiards actually playable. Possibly have them teach a limited amount of skill (maybe up to lvl 1 or 2 aiming). It’d be even better if they added tennis, basketball or even soccer, for MP in particular. It’d be a great way to train fitness, sprinting, maybe even lightfooted and nimble. Adding simple versions of these games wouldn’t be too difficult.
Working 90s video game consoles wouldn’t hurt either.
Playable arcade machines/air hockey tables to reduce stress and boredom would be great
@@lunaseur327 you could even have them break down after time, forcing the player to learn some mechanical if they want to use one.
Those are great ideas. I haven't heard of anything similar being added in b42, but hey, at least there are mods that let you use the treadmill for fitness and arcades to kill some time.
I am more excited on how the build will perform on insanely high population zeds,especially in MP. I havent seen them do an insane amount of zeds for b42 or maybe I missed it, cause they are introducing skyscrappers imagine the lag.
There is a brand new optimization to their engine for this update that has been said to double performance even with all the new stuff.
Also the main multiplayer bugs have been confirmed to be fixed.

Great video, I hope they’ll fix “unlimited water” after power/water shutdown, plenty of clean water from toilets,baths, sinks.
Also, It would be nice if unopened canned foods, most non-perishable foods and gas can go bad over long time.

The last bit wouldn’t really make sense, gas can’t “go bad”, there’s already plenty of information and videos explaining on how that’s impossible.
Canned food is canned so it can last DECADES at minimum, so unless you’re playing for say 40 years you aren’t going to see canned food decay.
Its pathetic that they say "oh yeah well have it done This year" ... the games well over 10 years old and the devs have turned into lazy bums. They got their money and dont care how long they take to add any kibdof update.
The last build was 3 years ago, I wouldn't say it's that bad considering all the thousands of mods.

@thankusa9795 it's obvious that you really haven't done any digging on the subject.. I bought the game in 2011.. it took them 12 years just to implement multi-player into the game... they hire these modders that make map extensions, and then fire them after they're done with their work. Then because they were employed under the dev team, it's the devs property, and the actual creator is left in the dust.

What you need to know is that no one develops the game anymore. You also need to know that you are being scammed with the least amount of effort they can get away with.
