It's amazing that as long as toilets have been around nobody has come up with a better chain -- i.e. one that doesn't break or kink so easily. I'd gladly pay an extra few bucks for one made of titanium that lasts 20 years minimum

Try a fishing line made of a material that won't rot such as polyester. A 30 to 50 Lbs pound line should last a long time.

You can actually use a bread tie to reattached the chain,if it broked into two.Learned that trick from my friend. The bread tie are actually pretty strong.Did it yesterday. So,far it is still holding.

I never saw these chain mechanisms until moving to North America. In Australia button systems are more common; and more reliable IMO and experience.

Even with a perfect line or chain that lasts forever the flapper will only last so long and THAT is what needs to be improved on but I can't see it getting better unless they make some kind of amazing seal that can't corrode under water like.. at all

My toliet must be ancient I had to just put the chain on the suction already built together and feed it into the flush lever and use Pliers to lock the chain on the lever .

I replaced the chain, clamped it together and it keeps popping off.

This is crap. I have the same unit and chain but it always kinks up and leaves the flapper partially open, thereby keeping the water draining after a flush. My original "chain" was a rubber one that did not suffer from these problems. Home Depot is limited on their choices so I'll have to find a rubber replacement online.

Lol!! If you have a beaded chain you need to torch that shit out of existence, and go buy a $2 link chain. what an awful engineering idea. Can't replace bead links 😂
