      Sir, what if the little chain keeps getting hung up, what would you do in that case? The clip turns horizontal sometimes and prevents the flapper from sealing. Thank you!

    What I do is place a 1 to 1.5 inch washer into the air filled hole at the bottom of the flapper along with some marine grease on the ears of the flapper. That way the weight is distributed right where it needs to be sealed.

    @ahyaok100 Před 4 lety +5

    You have an adjustable flapper that's looks like on the max number. Unless you have a huge tank it shouldn't be set to max. The lower the number the faster the flapper should go down. That can help to keep it from getting stuck too.

  • @tamarockstar45
    @tamarockstar45 Před 5 lety +20

    You can see side of the flapper by the white pipe is getting caught on the ledge where the two pipes meet. I had this exact same problem. You can just sand the ledge down to make it smooth and the flapper won't get caught on the ledge. You don't have to replace anything or add washers, just sand the ledge down a bit.

    In my case the vertical overflow pipe which the float drops alongside was fairly heavily crusted with hard water deposits (almost like sandpaper) which created unnecessary friction as the float when the float was supposed to drop. It all came off with a quick rub with my hand but a light brushing would work too. I also added 3 chrome nuts Obote the float for additional weight.
