  • Is this $879 lift kit for the Toyota Tundra really worth the money?

Your truck is capable to go from south to North.
    West coast to east coast.
    Absolutely a GR8 a vehicle .
Have a great time with it .
    Greetings from North Texas.

Is it a stiff ride. Feel like my stock suspension tundra sucks

Nice. Thanks David. I've always heard them talked down, like you mentioned but have never used them myself. Appreciate the info.

Where was this filmed? I’m in Centex and would love to hit this spot! I’m so bored here, with the lack of spots to drive thru. I came from Cali, didn’t realize there was so much private land here lol. Keep up the videos bro!

Got a 2013 had a 3 inch lift already went with rough country struts and socks all around. I have a 2009 tundra also and also 4x4 but no lift. Thinking about getting a lift for it what you think about the rough country lift kits.

If you haven't tried wheeling with a higher end lift, you don't really know what you are missing out on.
These suspensions that use lift blocks and spacers don't improve the off road ability of the truck at all. In fact, they slightly reduce that ability by reducing the droop of the wheels, meaning your tires are more likely to lift off the ground and lose traction.
In short, a truck lifted with spacers has slightly less off road ability than the stock suspension. The only real benefit you have is that you have abit more ground clearance and can fit larger tires. And any perceived benefit you think you got, is from your tires, not your lift.
You don't need to spend thousands of dollars on king or fox shocks. You can buy much less expensive socks that will work just fine. Ideally you would also want extended arms in the front to reduce the loss of suspension droop.
In the rear, you can use extended shackles to lift the back. That will also get you more travel. Shackles aren't that expensive either. Lift blocks just keep the stock suspension and lift the frame a bit. They also cause the axle to apply more rotational force on the leaf springs under hard acceleration and hill climbing. That can, and does, cause broken drive lines and ruined leaf springs.
These cheap spacer lifts are more for people who care about the appearance of their truck rather than its ability.
That being said, if it is all you can afford, then it's all you can afford, and nothing i said matters anyway. You are still getting out and doing stuff, which is what matters anyway.

I think the kit he selected has the lifted front struts. That should increase max droop a little bit, compared to spacers. But like you said, he did use rear lift blocks. He should have gone with the shackles. I wish he went more in detail about what he has on it- he just listed the main things you see. Didn’t mention anything about diff drop and etc.

Pro tip, if you want an upgraded suspension, don’t buy rough country. Save up until you can afford a quality suspension.

      What brand do you recommend?

    • @KurNorock
      @KurNorock Před rokem

@@ethangonzales3000 I went with Ironman4x4 which is a company out of Australia. Their kits are super high quality for the price.
However, if I had more money I would have went a different route and done a custom long arm kit and possibly even done a 4link with coil overs in the back. But now we are talking about $10k per corner.
