Why I Bought A Nissan and Not Toyota (Biggest Toyota Fan)
zhlédnutí 213KPřed 4 měsíci
Just MY opinions on why I think the Frontier is better than the Tacoma. Again, some of this is subjective so don’t take it personal. Both trucks are awesome and they both have their pros and cons, but this is just explaining why I chose the Frontier over the Tacoma. #frontier #tacoma #overlanding

The ak of trucks
These frontiers are pretty
Awesome stuff, great example to set. Just getting into overlanding. You just earned a subscriber!
I was born and raised in El Paso TX. I enjoyed watching this. Theres not alot of well made content about the desert southwest on CZcams.
Wow, that made my day thanks a lot brother!
Those holes in the ground at 31:09 are Dakota fire pits. The bigger chamber is where the fuel and the fire would be so it wouldn’t be affected by the wind and the smaller hole would come in at an angle into the chamber for air flow.
My only issue with the frontier is the lack of aftermarket support. Being a different body than the Australian Navara will make it even harder to get support from reputable brands like ARB, Ironman, TJM. Mechanically speaking Nissan V6 is bullet proof. In general Nissan has been as reliable as Toyota.
Thanks Ricky Rubio
Wow!
Great video! We stayed a week there in November several years back and loved it. We drove straight from ETX and boy... I did not realize once you hit that south gate you still have several hours before you even reach the ranger station. Its hard to articulate the peace and stillness of that place. The night sky was breathtaking and we had total privacy. In many of the sites you can bathe and do your business without seeing anyone else. Pro tip: Wind gusts can kick up violently and suddenly in the canyon camping areas. We had a hardshell rooftop tent that we faced into the wind and were fine, but the next morning we went to the ranger station to get some ice and 3 different families were leaving because the winds got so severe that they abandoned them to get in their cars and the winds blew their chairs and tents away. Be sure to bring long tent stakes and use your vehicle to shield your tent from those types of gusts.
Nice truck
Only thing wrong with em is the rust
Roam uses a linear low-density polyethylene material (LLDPE), the same material used for grocery bags. Over time, this material will warp and distort. It's quite common to see lids of Roam boxes not fitting properly after a year or two of outdoor use. Pelican uses a high-density polyethylene which is much more durable and stable. If limited to indoor use only, Roam will serve you well. For the cost, you might consider using an aluminum case like Alubox or Zarges.
west texas is such a s hole.
22r and drivetrain is what made these trucks famous..
In 2010 I paid 29,200.00 for a TRD Off Road tacoma out the door. I'm only 41 and already have the "I Remember when stories".
As a Toyota guy, I can appreciate Nissans simplicity, but there 4wd system is severely lacking compared to Toyotas. And…they’re just not good looking vehicles in my opinion.
And getting more and more popular! Nice tree!
Treacherous? You were following a Suburban.
$500 for a plastic box is absolutely crazy. They are awesome but that price is way out of line.
I’m from Hawaii… the most die hard Toyota fans haha… my island is surrounded by 2024 tacomas haha
they don’t offer replacement parts for the transmissions and only sell the entire transmission for the nissan frontier or at least one year of it for sure idk about other years
Great video, thank you for sharing your trip. I camped at Pila de los Muchachos in 2020, if you type it into Google Maps you will see some pictures that I took, including one of my Nissan Titan at the campsite. Last December I camped at Chorro Vista, a bit further east from Pila and I highly recommend either of those.
You have a rock pebble between body and frame making the creaking noise. Happens frequently
That looks great 👍
I love your 4runner. I also have a 2000 4runner. I've had her a year and a half. I have camped once in my 4runner and was uncomfortable...my mattress went flat. Don't think I was prepared enough. I am still trying to figure out what works for me. I love the platform but, don't want it to be permanent. I Also love the canopy and the lanterns. I know I will get this figured out. I have seen so many mods and I'm so excited to get started. Thank you for all your ideas. I enjoy watching you with your son. Keep up the good work :)
If you didn't know how this was going to go... 1:58 says in all, cholo's
Pro tip: keep your PLB or Garmin Inreach within a bright colored mini Pelican case or even a cheap Apache from harbor freight in the glove box or compartment of truck. That way in a severe collision, there’s a much less chance of it getting damaged. On the dash like that is a bad place. Windshield is the worst but I’ve seen quite a few folks who mount them there. Looks cool up there, but actually getting saved when you need to use it looks cooler.
As a 3ed Gen owner and several years of selling both Toyota's and Nissans.. We wont be getting rid of our 3G Taco but the next platform we will be tackling is the newest Frontier 3G. Couldn't agree more with nearly every point given here. Including the new Taco is rather Ugly.. Like in the way of I just want a basic looking white sneaker, and Toyota went all Balenciaga Space shoe style sneakers..
Would you sell it?
This gives me 2004 pathfinder vibes. I have a feeling they will stand the test of time and be considered the 2004 pathfinder of its time. 46k not worth it in my opinion. Ill wait a few years for this one 😅
Nissan quality died when they merged with Renault in 1999
Can't wait to see that sick old yota corolla. spoiler alert, I hope y'all got some good footage of the mud hole.
Why does this guy keep saying "Tea-ota" instead of "Toyota"?
I'm not an expert in the Land Cruisers either, but I really appreciate this large collection. Thanks for the tour.
Seems a little relative at this point, you see all kinds of videos about how good and reliable Toyota trucks are. Good frame and reliable strong parts
I went through there last month, some really awesome Land Cruisers!!!!
Want to go!
A must!
Very cool video! That Frontier is one of the best overlanding trucks! Also, if you wrote the copy for the video, well done--almost poetry! If ChatGPT wrote it, no kudos! LOL
Thanks😂
The pre-80’s Land Cruiser is one Toyota should bring back
A man can dream…
what happened to the tundra?
Gone to Ohio
mine looks waaaaay better ;)
Awesome project love it. Very professional.👍
This Video is 3 months old. Since this video the new Tacoma's are having big engine and transmission problems. GO NISSAN!!!
first problem with the tacoma is your ego got in the way. second problem with the tacoma is you dont want to have any power at high elevation
Awesome review. When we gonna get that Shafer Trail content? Good seeing ya out there!
Subaru guy?! I’m editing the video as we speak😎 was nice seeing yall out there as well!!
That's a great deal for a fridge, compared to my Dometic CDF-11 that was $432.00. Great review as always
Thanks Jeff!
still have the tundra?
Sadly the tundra is somewhere in Ohio now
👍👍
I just bought one and everything I saw on this unit showed with wheels and the slide handle but the one I received don't have wheel or the slide handle
No Manual Transmission, aka modern theft prevention. Tacoma does 😅
