Janick's solo is really incredible !!
To be honest, metal is probably the genre with most storytelling in lyrics. I mean there are SO SO many concept metal albums, it is insane, furthermore tons of metal songs are telling a story, but they are off of non concept albums.
Seriously though guys pick up some Maiden tickets for their upcoming Legacy of the Beast tour. It will be epic!

Aw man a missed opportunity to do a tremendous live version from En Vivo. Death on the Road is amazing as well but En Vivo is just something else.

Iron Maiden IS touring this summer...this is the one show you should see above all others. Legacy of the Beast tour...they will be in Mansfield MA August 1st (I assume this is the closest show to you guys). They will be in Brooklyn NY Jul 26 and 27. I am going to see them Aug 22nd in Chicago. The setlist for this tour looks great to me...

There is a series of Legacy Of The Beast shows on eBay and these two shows that you mentioned are a part of it. They are all professionally recorded and sound amazing like an officially released live album. I have both shows, Sweden Rock Festival 2018, Hellfest Festival 2018, Rock In Rio 2019, and a few others. They all also have bonus live songs from past tours that also sound amazing.

That's my favourite version of that song man I got the Death on the Road album back around 05/06 when i was 17 and this song stood out to me.

Steve Harris (bass player/ founding member) plays soccer. Bruce Dickinson (vocals) was a world class fencer still stays in shape. Nicko McBrain (drums) eats bbq and plays golf as well as Dave Murray (guitar.) Adrian Smith (guitar) fishes. And Yanick Gers (guitar) well, I don’t know what he does in his free time.

Sorry to disagree, i mena the en vivo version was great, but this is the epic version, first time we saw it live, and it was performed flawlessly, i miss all the theatric stuff Bruce does in this version than the one en vivo.

Steve Harris (bass) & Janick Gers (guitarist) were jumping during the song. I found out that most of the members plays football or we called soccer besides training. Bruce has to train due to he is licensed airline pilot in order to keep up on his flying credentials.

Bruce said in an interview once how he prepares for a tour by rollerblading around in a big, empty mall parking lot singing every song in their set to build up his stamina and help memorize the lyrics.
Hey Sori, I think I get what you mean about the stage lights and the specific color in different areas...for example @ 6:40 when the floor lights up red as if he was walking on the coals just like he says in the song..."and the blaze of the fire did no hurt upon me, as I walked on to the coals"

Hey Vin, love how you pointed out the whole storytelling aspect being affiliated with the track being pre-made! It's definitely doable in a traditional process, but much easier when you have the instrumental made beforehand. Some Rock and Metal bands/artists actually write the instrumentals before the lyrics. Linkin Park is the first one that comes to mind that openly talked about having that hip-hop writing process.
You really need to do Paschendale from this same live album, it's a great watch and song.
Hey guys. This is a great song. Good review. Iron Maiden Does put on an A M A Z I N G show. They are currently on tour. I will be seeing them in Phoenix, Az in September. You should check their tour schedule and go see them if they're anywhere near your city. You mentioned training and how Bruce jumps and runs around. Well, before every show, he puts on some roller blades and skates around the parking lot of the venue or hotel while singing every song to stay in shape both vocally and physically. He is also a world class fencer (sword fighting) and a commercial pilot. He flies their Boeing 747 all over the world while they are on tour. Will you please do When the Wild Wind Blows? I think you would be thoroughly enjoyed.

I think Sori you will especially love this: It’s time you reviewed a second QUEENSRYCHE (another Seattle band) song. Vin loved ‘Eyes Of A Stranger’ last year. I recommend ‘Silent Lucidity’ their biggest hit. It went Top 10 in 91 and was nominated for Grammys and AMAs and nominated for 5 MTV Video awards, winning one, beating R.E.M.s Losing My Religion in the Viewers Choice category. It is a beautifully lush ballad with strings by Michael Kamen of Metallica fame as well as many film scores. The album Empire went triple platinum and is their biggest seller, even though ‘94’s Promised Land debuted at number 3 on Billboard. Queensryche is a band that deserves your attention. You will love it so much I think. Video is great too. Please use the studio version or official video version. No good quality live clips. Trust me. Sooo good.
