  • The smallest 7 segment display counter (maybe).
    Looks like 3X8X8 or 3X8X9 are possible too but I don't like 3 wide design because it's not tileable.
    I added the reset button because there was some space left...

    Great design! Now make one that can count up and down! Never seen one actually.

  • @Minecraftster148790

    To get it to work at all in that size is impressive, but I don't know how you managed to make a reset in the same space

    Wow, can't imagine how did you fit the reset mechanism in there. I have never used any counters that use cauldrons myself, but I remember Etho and Doc making a reset for one, and it was twice the the size of the counter.

    • @xosuperfreakox20
      @xosuperfreakox20 Před 7 lety

      Alexander Prokhorov I believe it was this version before he compacted it again with the observer that doc and etho made a reset for. The bridge was across the back and the observer gave him the space to move it up top. Atleast that's how I remember it, not positive tho...But that and a lot of other compacting has made this unbelievably tiny , and it still looks pretty stable.. very nice

      Because they did circuit wrong, the proper way is rotating the piston tape to 9999 and add 1. This design only needs one clock.

    • @alexPRO2398
      @alexPRO2398 Před 7 lety

      BTW, can you add another segment to make it 5+ digit?

    • @Tsskyx
      @Tsskyx Před 7 lety

      You mean you first disconnect the carry, then let it loop to 9999, then connect the carry again and add 1?

  • @happypersononfridays
    @happypersononfridays Před 7 lety +1

    Please please please make a tutorial on this! I have been trying really hard to create a two digit version and have driven myself mad trying to figure it out. Please! ;n;

  • @DaleEhrhartgisd
    @DaleEhrhartgisd Před 7 lety

    Amazing work. It would be awesome if you would describe your steps and though process when you figure out the piston tapes. I notice that you have observer blocks in your tape- what function do they perform? Are they necessary in the reset?

      Your use of observers within the tape to trigger the next counter and complete the reset is amazing.

    • @DaleEhrhartgisd
      @DaleEhrhartgisd Před 7 lety

      In regards to the piston tape. After trying unsuccessfully to figure out a system (mini builds, graph paper, etc) where I could just build the tape I finally resorted to making the tape with full cauldrons and then constructing a number (0), advancing the tape and then constructing another number (1) and so forth. After 20 minutes and 2 full revolutions I had a working piston tape. I think the mini builds helped me visualize what lines needed to be activated when, and graphing it helped me understand where and when tape was interacting with the line in the rotation (9,8,0),(8,0,1),(0,1,2),(1,2,3).... Really neat system
