To answer the question in the description, I think it would be possible, but probably not like how you have been doing it. I don’t know enough about zero ticking to know if you could do it with that, but I feel like it could be done without zero ticks by making it a lot taller and using many more pieces of glass. I do know however that one color every 2 game ticks is possible, so twice as fast as yours, and that it can be done very compactly.

Can you somehow modify this to add to a slower clock? Or a random ticket generator ? Cause I just wanna be able to cycle through all colours over like a few hours

For anybody who wants to build it, just remember do build the entire thing IN 1 CHUNK, i build 6 of those and then i realised how screwed i'm because every of those were crossing the border chunk and as fast as i was going somewhere else, colorfull glass break the redstone or get out of tape, please don't do my mistakes

If somebody wants a material list here it is: 164 iron/diamond/gold/emerald blocks (for full beacon) (2s + 36) 89 redstone dust (1s + 25) 88 building blocks (1s + 24) 32 sticky piston 21 piston 26 observer 26 any glass block 22 gold rails 5 redstone blocks 2 hoppers 1 target block 1 lever 5 comparator 6 repeater 1 beacon 7 non-stackable items (wooden shovel is probably best for this) 1 iron/diamond/gold/emerald (to give yourself a boost from beacon) 10x 7 glass of your choice (for same effect as his on the beginning of the video is: 7 red glass 7 orange glass 7 yellow glass 7 lime glass 7 green glass 7 cyan glass 7 blue glass 7 magenta glass 7 purple glass 7 pink glass i hope i helped somebody out there, also great tutorial i needed some compact rainbow beacon so thank you very much for this video it's great! I was hoping this still worked in 2024 (MC Java v1.21). Seems everything but the dropper chain functions as expected. Second dropper is not getting powered/moving the empty carts through. Other than that though, this design has held up surprisingly well.

Awesome video, and great build. However I found that it completely de-syncs on a server when restarted. Do you have any idea why this might be and if it is fixable?

WOW! - Shaved a whole 5x blocks off of the previous design. This one is faster too I am sure of it. I understand that the fill levels = different redstone level and glass = 0. I can even get my head around the on/off state copper bulbs giving 15/0 and the full block that will allow a signal to pass through. However, what are the stairs for? Sorry if I am being dumb, I'd just like to understand.

Can u adjust it to change colour every pulse from a random tick gen? I wanna be able to do that since then itll be cool not visibly changing colour but cycles the spectrum over a few hours

Hey Peter, this is nice, but the sticky pistons in the stack of five that push the glass back do not need to be zero ticked. This is because the color of the beacon while the glass is moving would be the same as the color when the glass stops. Same thing goes for the very bottom one on the other side.
