Bowe could have been one of the greatest, he had everything but unfortunately he wasn't mentally strong and totally nuts. Still though I reckon he would've beaten Lewis in his prime.

Lewis was easy to hit as well even with a Emmanuel Steward dropped his hands like most Kronk fighters do. Bowe was Undisputed in 92, Lewis wasn't Undisputed until 99. McCall, Rahman, Bruno, Botha, Grant, and Briggs are that "pathetic level of opposition" you're talking about. Tyson and Foreman didn't want to fight him, Tyson just wanted to be "friends". Bowe got on the Rampage Jackson podcast and said they were never friends just acquaintances. Mercer and Morrison blew their shot twice, Mercer actually three times, both of them were more inconsistent than Bowe was.
I already told you why he fought Jesse Ferguson in another comment. Because he beat Mercer as a tune-up fight when Mercer was signed to Bowe. Michael Dokes was on a winning streak and literally his first defense. Who the hell was Phil Jackson and McCall? If I recall correctly McCall had five losses coming into that fight. Funny you mention Klitschko because that was supposed to be Kirk Johnson but really it should've been Byrd who earned his shot twice, and they stripped Lennox of the IBF for not fighting him. Same thing happened with the WBA mandatory Ruiz when the WBC gave him the option to fight their mandatory, who Lewis admitted he fought because of Grants inexperience.
Bowe at least gave Lewis a shot, something Lewis didn't do with Ruiz and Byrd when they were in the same position Lewis was in to fight Bowe. Emmanuel Steward called Byrd boring even though that's Lewis's criticism as well, and then they went to have a retirement fight against Kirk Johnson who pulled out with an injury. Fought the likes of Dokes & Ferguson rather than any top 10 fighters. He fought Ferguson because he beat Mercer as a tune up fight when Mercer was signed to Bowe. Dokes was on a winning streak after Ruddock. By the time the fight did get made and they signed an actual binding contract Lewis got sparked out by McCall and him and his manager complained about it. Compare Tyson and Lewis's first loss in the way they acted after let alone who beat them compared to Bowe, big difference. Lewis still makes excuses for his losses calling them lucky punches.
