When he fought Foreman a couple of years earlier, he barely got through the 11th and 12th round. He spent those last rounds hanging on to Foreman every chance he got and the fans booed him for that. Something was obviously wrong when the much older and out of shape fighter showed more stamina than the much younger and fitter champion, but nobody knew what was wrong. What a warrior Evander was. Spent much of his heavyweight years fighting bigger boxers with a handicap.

I don't. He is one of the true greats. Foreman is the all time greatest heavyweight, but Lennox is close.
When he was still fighting, he was tough to like and root for, although I respected his skill and he was a great fighter. He was hard to like because he had no humility at all when he was a fighter, after pummeling an opponent, he was pummel him more with rude and snide comments after the fight. When someone did get the best of him, he would never admit defeat and always made excuses. I'll admit in retirement, he is much more likeable and humble.

Lennox Lewis should be the yardstick upcoming heavyweights should try to copy.
Great fighter, very technical and good power. High ring IQ, hall of famer. Unarguably one of the top ten heavyweights ever and some even argue that he was top of them all.
The above points can be argued but what cannot is this: He made good money and KEPT most it after retiring and is now still making money making appearances all over the world. He has retained his health, his senses and still looks in great shape. He had no controversies outside the ring and lived clean.
An example to everyone who wants to box that you can do great in the ring and still live a quality life outside it when you are done.
You could not have said this any better. I grew up in Kitchener, Canada and my dad knew Lennox. We drove out to LA to watch the Olympics in '84 and watched his first fight. After, he came over and talked to both of us for about 10 minutes. He was a great, genuine guy who didn't have that "Do you know who tf I am?" attitude. I idolized him the whole time he was a pro fighter. I think he's the only guy who could've beaten some of the greats while they were in their prime.
Out of all the former heavy weight champions it's good to see the ones who stay in shape and still looks like a world champion in the ring and out the ring even as they age gracefully those are the true warriors and champions they never let themselves go by the waist side đ

Lewis is a very intelligent person. He was fortunate to fight Tyson and Holyfield when they were passed it. And he was very lucky against Vitali when losing the bout was stopped due to a cut. Riddick Bowe is making a comeback in a different way. Riddick is working on television shows and films to make his comeback. Many people don't know Riddick Bowe the man and we are going to tell it in a television show about Legendary Boxers and a Documentary about his life. What Riddick wants to do is change the narrative and let everyone know that he can move on to the next chapter of life and be successful without jumping back into the ring to fight. He wants to use his voice to help support mental health awareness, financial education and giving back to the community.

My point is that the belt in the garbage thing was more a show. It happened right after he won the belt. He had to fight Holyfield again anyway as it was mandated and he lost. So where in actuality did he duck Lewis? Less than a year after that, Lewis lost to McCall. And they could never get it together, as they both had to right those wrongs and by the time they did, the window had closed.
The more I think about it... Lennox could have genuine beef .. but is just laughing.. Riddick refused to fight Lennox... both in their near primes.. and now he wants to stand next to him.
Haven't seen Lennon in years. He's looking fit and healthy. Some of the other guys don't move too well. Ernie Shavers moved to Liverpool years ago and was working the doors. Apparently he's a lovely fella.
