@@GrubKiller436 No hes not. Bowe was the one that recorded the video of himself dumping the WBC belt in the bin to avoid fighting Lewis, not his "negotiators".
Both the Bowe team and Lewis teams had opportunities to make them fight each other. On Lewis' side, certain events made bad timing to interrupt plans. On Bowe's side, it had to do with the fact Bowe unfortunately placed too much blind trust in his manager, and his manager was too selfish and didn't want to take risky chances.
Respect to Naz for asking Bowe tough questions. I had to watch through my fingers, was tense

That's a matter of opinion but I think Lewis resume is far better and when you watch the fights with the few same opponents they had, Lewis dealt with them way more easily, even handled Golota in 90s, the undefeated man who had Bowe's number. He even killed him that night, Golota got resurrected by electroshocks on the way to the hospital that night.😅
I always wonder if Bowe was happy to see Golota defeated so easily or mad that Lennox did so much better than him. Probably both at the same time.

Before Bowe fought Holyfield in 1992, it was agreed that the winner would have to defend against the winner of Lewis vs Ruddock. Then when Bowe beat Holyfield and Lewis beat Ruddock, Bowe's team low balled Lewis and he said no. Lewis' team countered the offer and it was turned down by Bowe's team. Lewis' team then said they will accept the first offer cos they could win the title then make big pay days after, but Bowe was instead put in with Michael Dokes then Jesse Ferguson and dumped the WBC belt.
True. But also, there were many other times the fight was signed, both fighters wanted it but circumstances would prevent it. Lewis needed to get past McCall and they were signed to fight next, but unfortunately for the division, the fight didn’t happen.
there was no real agreement. if there was there would have been lawsuits. its stupid to expect bowe to fight killer after killer. when guys get the heaveyweight title they get the luxury of fighting a few gimmes to make some money before putting it all on the line. and the biggest fight was OBVIOUSLY bowe holyfield 2. that is what everyone wanted to see. not bowe lewis. and lewis is actually lucky the fight never happened becuase he would have gotten ko'd and would never have had the career he had.
Bowe sounds much much better than he has done in the past .

If you are serious about what you said you need to make it out to Canastota New York at some point in your life. Boxing hall of fame second weekend in June. All of these legends are there just chilling. So few fans it's ridiculous. The entire weekend you can walk up to anyone you want talk to him about whatever you want it's fantastic.
Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Karl Froch, Riddick Bowe, Golota, Roberto Duran, etc. just chillin...
Why didn’t Naz try to avenge that loss to Barrera ? He instead made excuses about cutting weight before the bout.

don't think he was making it up. as he lost on points and knew it was over for him. he made too much money too soon. and his ego could not handle a loss on his record. even if he came back to win.

Both Lewis and Bowe would have beat each other depending on when they would have fought. If they had fought in the early 90s Bowe would have won as he was a beast then and Lewis was still green and not fully matured yet. However, if they had fought in the mid or late 90s Lewis would have won easy as he was at his prime and Bowe had already faded by that time.
Whenever a fighter ducks another fighter they can never be an all time great.
Floyd ducked too many fighters.
In June of ’94, Lewis and Bowe would actually sign a deal for Lewis to defend against Bowe in Las Vegas in March of 1995, after Lewis made his mandatory defense against #1 contender Oliver McCall in September ’94. Of course, this one is on Lewis as he got upset by an inspired “Atomic Bull”.

I was a naz fan back in the day, then thought he was a bit overrated, but after watching the old fights back he was one of the most skilful, boxers we’ve ever produced.
I’d definitely get on a diet though , I’m a similar age to him (slightly younger😂) and definitely not in the shape I was in my 20s 30s , but I’d defiantly sort that out if I was naz. He still looks good, he’s just carrying about an extra 5 stone.
Suppose he’d been dieting and training for most of his youth, so fair enough on reflection.
Fact is however you slice it, the premier belt went in the bin rather than face his mandatory. No getting away from that. Clearly the KO in the amateurs wasn't psychologically put to bed. Would have been a great fight. I think a prime switched on Lennox would have prevailed though.
Naz gone up in my estimations, he is bang on about Lennox, one of the best heavyweights to ever grace the ring.

if that fight happen back in 93 bowe would be the favorite if he showed up at the same form he did in the holyfield fight at end of 92. lewis still wasnt the great fighter he would become with the great emanuel steward, bowe was at his absolute peak. the greatest fight of the 90's that we miss. so sad the two best heavyweights from the 90s didn't fight each other (only in the olympics, but the s.o.b. judge ruined the fight)
I'm more of a bowe fan than lewis fan, but its undeniable that the only one responsible for that fight not happening is him. such an idiot for throwing the belt in trash. dude had all the tools to defeat lewis, but chose not to. shame on him.
Every heavyweight would have struggled during the 70s era. Ali would still have been at the top. Literally has the best resume at heavyweight..
Best resume! He did not fight great names like Lennox Lewis fought
For example, Joe Frazier was an average fighter who was not that great and did not have a great CV, and he defeated Ali.
George Foremen also does not have that great CV, he only fought for the championship in more than 80 fights only 4 times.
Ken Norton Many people, including Ali, still believe that Kane defeated him in the Trilogy that took place between them, and that Norton was never a champion.
Sonny Liston did not experience much in his career. He only took the belt from Patterson and then Ali attacked him and took it from him in a way that many still doubt to this day.
This is all about Ali's career, and people see it as the greatest career! The media made it look like this in the eyes of many, but the facts say exactly the opposite

The times were different. Boxing knowledge was different. Knowledge in general was different. Hell, even the size of people were different.

Naz was great fighter back in the day but I also disagree with him because Vitali Klitschko screwed up Lennox Lewis but lost because of eye injury and wanted reematch but Lewis never dared to accept reematch and instead run away and retired from Boxing cowardly with very lucky victory.

Lenox would have handled him like he handled Golota who Bowe struggled against twice. Golota and Bowe had a very similar style but Golota proved he was the strongher and better boxer, its just a shame he had to ruin the fights he was clearly winning with the low blows.
Bowe was able to dig deeper than Golota, and had more heart - that’s why he disqualified himself after countless low blows
Might want to look up the fact that Golota was drugged for that fight with Lewis. Riddick Bowe was beating Lewis in the Olympics & that was Lewis’ 2nd attempt cause he didn’t win any medals the first time
The Bowe of 1996(or later) would have had no chance whatsoever against Lennox Lewis, but from 92 to 94, heck maybe even 95, would have been a super interesting fight.
Bowe was beating Golota, even more so in the second fight where Bowe gave Golota the first knockdown of Golota's career.
Golota wasn't just winning flawlessly. He got more hits in because he made his opponent worry about being punched in the nuts.
