We made this with dinner tonight and it was amazing! I'm so glad we were able to find some imported Burrata. Will definitely be making this a few more times this summer while the tomatoes are coming in.

When I was in Italy, the big thing was Caprese Salad Sandwiches made with Ciabatta bread. Needless to say, it was VERRRRY good. Makes a great picnic item, and it is far more portable than just the salad.

Such a beautiful side dish... so very simple and yet such an impressive eye catching treat. I speak from experience with this one, I served these tomatoes at a luncheon and received nothing but compliments just by the appearance alone. I placed a bottle of homemade vinigarette on the table just in case anyone wanted to add some extra flavor. I'm the type who would normally go straight for this dressing but honestly, this tomato dish tastes fantastic with the olive oil alone. Way to go chef John, such a fresh and tasty treat... not to mention very attractive sitting on the plate. Thanks for all the awesome ideas, this one is a keeper! :-)
