That was always one of my favorite lore things about Spartans.
Slain Spartans were to be officially reported MIA for morale reasons among normal troopers and civilians. Carter wasn't breaking regulations by discussing Jorge's death with other Spartans in private.

So considering Emil ways 235-pound without his armor and when he is in his armor he weighs 1235. That means the Zealot Elites are able to consistently match Spartans in physical strength if not exceed. That Zoe delete had half a ton a little over half a ton in his hand with one arm.
Elites lore wise are stronger then Spartan 2s even john you have to remember too that john isnt even that special when it comes to Spartan 2s the leads of the programme talk about how he wasnt that special but he had luck. In the lore the elite shields are stronger and Spartan 2s use stolen elite shield tech and elites can beat Spartans in hand to hand they are taller stronger and faster but Spartans have the training and mental conditioning .

Human technicians were baffled by the seemingly poor design choices in shielding and were able to fix it because they studied and understood it. Also, in lore the Mark V and Mark V[B] shields were prototypes. The Mark 6 and onward have better shields, but still not as good as the Elites. Even in Infinite, Chief needs to upgrade his shields to out match thiers.
I always found it goofy that Emile never saw the other elite. I mean his lore alone should have had the elite on radar at the very least but then there is his experience and he shoulda known how the covenant work

The Zealot barely moved until he creeper up on Emily's back slowly. Motion tracker probably didn't pick him up. And Noble team had no Intel on Zealots really as you can hear Halsey explaining basic operating procedures of Zealots to the team after the first encounter with them. Emile did the best he could imo
At that point in the war, Emile's radar could've been fried for all we know. There's also the fact that the MAGNETIC Accelerator Gun may have distorted his radar or the EM fields around.

Never understood why you would ever want a Spartan in a vehicle or, in this case, hunched over a control panel. Surely they could have found a marine instead and had Emile run security. Dude's a walking tank. Use him as such.
At that point, if memory serves, there was nobody else there trained to use the gun. As Spartan III's, Emile and Noble Six had comprehensive training, much more than the average Marine or trooper.

Six was getting shot at the time the first Elite was dropping if my memories serve me well. Having a giant as a cover gun is concealment enough even if the target is an 8 ft tall reptile.

It would be interesting to play as the Devoted Sentries since they basically were the Covenant's version of Noble Team and they're constantly fucking with you during the campaign after you blew up their supercarrier (killing kat, emile, and 6) and their failure to stop Noble team led to the Covenant losing the war.

Lorewise, I’m pretty sure shielding responds to only fast-moving projectiles such as incoming bullets, plasma fire, etc that way the operator can still hold and use different objects without the shielding making it difficult. On top of that I think the armor-user can adjust the shields to be stronger in certain areas and weaker in others, so maybe the Zealot directed the shields strength to his feet/legs when jumping down from the Phantom, and was taken off guard by Emile still retaliating after getting stabbed through the back and wasn’t prepared to redirect the shields to his neck to protect it better

The love for Emile in it's sheer volume was for shallow(but not bad) reasons, merely the rule of cool. His character has depth though. Emile lives to die and died to live in a sense he lost everything already and revenge was his only remaining purpose, but he didn't want to live long enough to avenge Reach in the end. He partly died where he did because he wanted to, hence his "I'm ready, how about you?" line. He was saying he is ready to die.

@@ZukoFTW i think you missed the point. Emile should have turned around and saw the other zeolet. The zeolet would have shown up on his motion tracker.
@@edwardcornell1263 You're not wrong but you definitely have to take consideration the speed & accuracy of a Spartan Killer, all while having the enormous pressure to protect the pillar of autumn for takeoff. If you pay attention, Emile has less than 5 seconds to react after his first kill before he got sliced.
