Halo reach has, in my opinion, the best looking armor in all the Halo franchise. All the armors save for the ones with effects look super realistic, yet still maintain that Halo feel, if you know what I mean.
Damn straight, reach was the best in aesthetics out of all the games. They actually look like they have muscles under the armor rather than in 4 where the Spartans looked super thin. Wish they kept these designs

I'm tired of super advanced sci fi armors still lacking basic things that soldiers will always need. - places to store weapon ammunition - visible grenades and melee weapons - attachments - extra equipment - supplies - even just small details to let you identify a character just based on one small detail. I love how Halo Reach keeps the Spartan armor and its feel, but adds that sense of tactical sensibility for a super soldier.
“I’m ready. How ‘bout you?” - I’m convinced Emile’s last words were aimed at Noble 6, not the Elite. He was willing to die to allow the Pillar of Autumn to escape but since his plans were scuppered by the Elites, he was asking 6 if he was ready to give his life to allow humanity to fight another day. I don’t think Emile would waste his dying breath on the enemy he despised.
I don’t think so, the Elites murdered Emile’s family so it’s only right for him to bring it back full circle with two Elites attempting to finish the job. Emile was asking the Elite if he was ready for one last dance, and the Elite had no choice but to agree.

He isn't afraid of being dead, but dying leads to the mission having a lesser success rate. He is afraid of the unfavorable circumstance of his death. Without him on the gun, either the POA wont make it off planet, or 6 (whom he entirely trusts, and thinks of as a member of the team at this point) will have to die instead. He doesn't want either, and that elite was milliseconds away from ensuring one of those options would betide. People don't really get that soldiers, warriors, fighters, etc get scared all the time. The real issue is what do you do with the fear. The difference between cowardice and bravery is when you let your fear control you, and make you act poorly. That's why you can only get so far without the fear of death, fear is the true call to action I believe it was the theme of the third episode of Band of Brothers

This was the first game I ever played seriously and seeing this scene was just so beautiful. Carters and Jorges deaths made impacts but there was a certain beauty about Emiles death here. Jorge and Carter both sacrificed themselves in important ways, but Emile in this scene pretty embodied everything his life accumulated to. He was a soldier and he was tasked with killing the Covenant "I'm ready, how about you?" Was everything he was as a soldier. He was ready to perform his task till his violent end. Emile was a beautiful and simple soldier. My 2 AM rant is over and I'm off to bed

I can survive a magnum round to the back of the head with full shields but I'll die instantly if I get melee'd from behind, regardless of shields. The sword clearly went through him. He had a hole in him and was losing a lot of blood. If that didn't kill him, then the glassing of Reach did. He's dead.
+MinecraftPro15 actually in the books (yes I am a total nerd) in the fall of reach book chief's shields deflected not just fast moving projectiles and plasma, but it also repulses against any surface it comes into contact to, in technicality the bottom of his boots and inside of his hands aren't shielded so he can grip weapons and equipment and actually walk, spartans can change where their shields are active and where they won't be active on the fly with little to no effort. they aren't "kinetic barriers" otherwise plasma would go straight through as well.
Emily's death was arguably the saddest death in my opinion. He says hes ready. Meets his opponent without fear and when he lands on the ground you can hear him hurting and he let's out one last breath of relief as if he was very tired and yet relieved of his duties. A Good man but an even better Soldier.
From what we know of him, the whole theme of Emile's life is his fear of dying. Emile always went to the most extreme and brutal extent possible just to ensure that he would survive at any cost. I think that's what makes his death the most impactful of all of them

4 was alright. The campaign story was decent, although I wished they had kept the old art style. 5 was trash. The story was garbage, the art style was even worse than 4 (I like Arby’s new armor though) and they ruined the canon.
The field Marshall who killed Emile is the one that ambushes noble team in the first mission. His weapons are the energy sword and the fuel rod gun. You kill as the last enemy of the mission. The zealot who kills you is the one that runs off when you get knocked over in the cutscene in winter contingency. The other zealot is the one you kill in tip of the spear. So, people, don't say a field Marshall killed kat !
This scene along with many others is why I like the Spartan 3's the most. I feel like they are really tough and hardcore even brutal,something about them makes them special

His last words to me signify that by this point in time, Emile actually was ready to die. He was already a troubled and violent man who had been deeply scarred by the destruction of his home planet. He was emphatic in his hatred of the Covenant and he was such an effective Spartan because he was so devoted to killing his enemy. Over the course of the second half of Reach, Emile lost his entire second family in the rest of Noble Team and witnessed the planet Reach reduced to all but nothing. He had lost too much and endured too much, and was ready to sacrifice his life for the right cause.
What makes me happy is that he wasn't afraid to die for his planet and even shouts that he his ready. And his hatred for the covenant allowed him to fucking kill the elite that has just killed him.
He was shocked when he saw cat die when noble 6 was carrying kats body you can see him look scared cause now he know Spartans are not invincible like chief for example
Emile Stabbing that Elite back was like a great, piercing "FUCK YOU" to that death-worshipping fanatic. And on top of that, Keyes mentioning Halsey by her first name adds to the subtlety of their relationship that we learned in Halo CE Terminals.
I think it's worth mentioning that before we saw Emile die, he went out of view and might not be dead at all Edit: he also only got stabbed once and survived at least long enough to fight back, he didn’t get attacked any more after
If you looked to the left whilst you're up on the cannon platform you can see his corpse sat against the railing next to the elite he killed knife in hand. ;(

plasma's hot enough to instantly cauterise the skin, so he wouldn't bleed to death. It'd be the trauma received to his organs that would kill him.

4 was alright. The campaign story was decent, although I wished they had kept the old art style. 5 was trash. The story was garbage, the art style was even worse than 4 (I like Arby’s new armor though) and they ruined the canon.

The field Marshall who killed Emile is the one that ambushes noble team in the first mission. His weapons are the energy sword and the fuel rod gun. You kill as the last enemy of the mission. The zealot who kills you is the one that runs off when you get knocked over in the cutscene in winter contingency. The other zealot is the one you kill in tip of the spear. So, people, don't say a field Marshall killed kat !

Made my stomach turn when I was doing my first run thru reach's campaign.
His last words to me signify that by this point in time, Emile actually was ready to die. He was already a troubled and violent man who had been deeply scarred by the destruction of his home planet. He was emphatic in his hatred of the Covenant and he was such an effective Spartan because he was so devoted to killing his enemy. Over the course of the second half of Reach, Emile lost his entire second family in the rest of Noble Team and witnessed the planet Reach reduced to all but nothing. He had lost too much and endured too much, and was ready to sacrifice his life for the right cause.

He was shocked when he saw cat die when noble 6 was carrying kats body you can see him look scared cause now he know Spartans are not invincible like chief for example

The worst part is, after this clip ends and the gameplay starts, you can hear his dying breaths in your commlink for a bit

Emile Stabbing that Elite back was like a great, piercing "FUCK YOU" to that death-worshipping fanatic. And on top of that, Keyes mentioning Halsey by her first name adds to the subtlety of their relationship that we learned in Halo CE Terminals.

I think it's worth mentioning that before we saw Emile die, he went out of view and might not be dead at all
Edit: he also only got stabbed once and survived at least long enough to fight back, he didn’t get attacked any more after
If you looked to the left whilst you're up on the cannon platform you can see his corpse sat against the railing next to the elite he killed knife in hand. ;(
