Realistically, everyone would be in awe of a Spartan III amongst them, especially in the renowned earlier mjolnir armor.
If his files weren't mostly [REDACTED] he would be like chief to them, but a more boogeyman version seeing as 6 was a headhunter and oni's personal grim reaper. He has taken out many insurrectionist bases in a single night and leaves no trace, being the only other spartan to ever be designated as hyper lethal vector would leave many in awe and speechless of the death machine standing in front of them
Honestly even if that phantom were controlled by hostile forces and not the Spartan headhunters then noble 6 would just solo them.
In universe not a lot of people knows about spartan generation though, they only know spartan through propaganda. and the awe factor would have been diluted by working at a spartan trainning facility.

I don't know, the way it is set up how you see him fall; one could say that we didn't actually see him die, merely subdued and fighting for every inch. It is only heavily implied that he is dead, but it very well could be that he was captured and taken for a covenant outpost to be interrogated but has never broke or lost hope to escape. Sure it is a cop out but it's better than what they did to Black Team.

@@knightsentinel1796 Yes he had shields, Mjolnir Mk. V officially enter service in November 2551, mostly with limited use by Spartan-III operators such as Noble (not just Noble though). This first platform was the Mark V [B], a privately produced variant.
The final production model given to the majority of Spartan-IIs (Master Chief / Blue Team etc) had the addition of the layer that allows the armor to support a smart AI, which was lacking in previous Mk V iterations.

Noble 6 is the guy holding the downed Spartan dummy.
It would’ve been so cool if Six survived and this was reintroduced in this cutscene as the injured Spartan.
His death was super cool, but this would’ve been neat, too.
Probably for the best he died when he did, though. That prevents 343 from ruining his character.
My personal theory is oni found him alive but kept I’d off records for their own private use not wanting the unsc to once again take their private grim reaper

Honestly, even just a vague reference in "Shadows of Reach" to there being a "vengeful ghost" that haunts the Banished on Reach, protecting Castle Base, would have been enough for me.
If 6 came back, I would've wanted 6 to be the person who ONI sent to hunt down Chief. And 6 would be less human and more machine than he was before due to ONI's *unethical* modifications.
Maybe Chief can relate this heavily altered Noble 6 to the whole machine & human thing that Cortana had him thinking about.

Too bad this can’t really be altered since even in the books, (If I remember correctly) Noble six fought for 8 hours after being overwhelmed. While in the game he’s merely just killed off putting up a fight, he put up more than a fight, & reinforcement could’ve gotten there to save the Spartan. Six was the start for another legend to begin.

The Halo reach theme gives me the chills everytime I listen to it
It's a pretty exciting idea really. They are rebooting the story without destroying the franchise, bringing back one of the most intimidating villains in Halo(I think Atriox is alive) thus opening the possibility to see Spirit of Fire, and giving us the chance to explore the story without having to recap the mistakes of Halo 4 & 5 we get to recap the AI war while finding the other Halo characters. Also instead of a love story I think we'll see a father and daughter bonding throughout the show, this would make it more touching to me. The daughter of Cortana and Chief.

actually they hurt the franchise bc of Halo infinite campaign and the only reason why they are doing a reboot in the first place is bc they failed at telling the story of Halo 4 & 5 and couldn't make a true ending to the Reclaimer story that Bungie made.
So no they did harm the franchise however thanks to the Halo community and 343 turning the Flood into Nostalgia enemies now after Halo Wars 2 for example and 343 using Nostalgia to get the fandom to comeback, no one is looking how heavily flawed Halo Infinite really is.
But gameplay wise Halo infinite is good and I do like the idea that the Banish have an AI however it's the timing of this AI existence doesn't make sense especially when not too long ago the Banish had no idea what an AI is so to make one this advance doesn't make sense.

It's a common trope in writing to have a character killed off-screen or not show it so that there's always the opportunity to bring them back.
Six's death was one such event. Realistically he's dead. Personally I don't believe for a second he actually is, but I also don't think the current team has the tact or skill to do a "Surprise I'm not actually dead" to the degree Six deserves.

Noble 6’s helmet recorded him being stabbed by an energy sword lol. which Emile didn’t live real long after taking just one of those. And supposedly 6 had been holding that army off for hours by himself so he he probably wasn’t in peak condition to live through a stabbing along with all the other wounds lol.

Say what you want about the importance of reaches theme, this game is dying hard and fast. At this point I’m so used to being disappointed by present day devs, I honestly would enjoy the fan service of noble 6 being alive. There are plenty of ways to make it more than just service as well. Perhaps this 6 could be a more evolved, traumatized and humanoid version of John. One that made the sacrifice but never got to leave his own burial grounds, basically becoming an alternate doom guy.

Noble six is dead. Those elites wouldnt just let him go and reach wouldnt be habitable until July 7 2589 (which is the end date of halo lore, if you ignore the halo 3 trailers).
*If* he ever comes back that would be the final nail in the coffin. It would be hard proof that 343 was right to seek a broader audience. I already have more than enough reasons to not consider anything that happens after the halo 4 campaign as canon.
I’ll just add that Johnson made his way home, and there was no realistic way he could have. Noble 6 was far, far more capable than Johnson. He’s one only two Spartans to ever be classified Hyper Lethal, and that Elites also wanted off that planet. He could easily have evaded the covenant and used one of the many jump capable ships that were still around.

Everyone always talks about how Reach is a masterpiece, yeah the story was great but the gameplay was literally just a quality of life update from H3.
And sometimes that's all you need. The story and music make up the rest. Elden Ring is currently considered a masterpiece too, despite for the most part just being more Dark Souls (I love ER btw). If the gameplay is already good, don't try to fix it. Take that time instead to craft a better narrative and visual direction.

To be fair, she's been in the game since launch. This isn't her first appearance.
That aside, I kinda had the same reaction. I'm fine with introducing new characters, but why not someone like Palmer (she was THE Spartan-IV until this game), or Locke (I know the campaign possibly killed him, but if he'd had another purpose in the game maybe they wouldn't have)? Or, hell, Kelly? Linda? Fred? Vale? Tanaka? Basically any of Halo 5's many characters that went sorely underutilized?
When you have that many characters that just kind of aren't doing anything and would fit the role well enough, yet aren't being used... yeah, you kinda start to ask why.
