I think you have a good concept for a game and I hope development goes well for you. Reminds me of Liero, and that game is a damn good time, so Squirrelpocalypse will definitely turn out well if you stick with it

So, like I said, the place is called "Sneed's Feed & Seed" and this sign says "Formerly Chuck's", which means that when Chuck owned the place, well, I don't have to tell you...
I think in order to feel smoother the velocity at witch the character is changing its height position when jumping should follow an S-curve, that is: starting slower, accelerating, decelerating, reaching the top height and reversing direction, then accelerate up to fall speed (or up to the ground, whichever comes first). That said, I never programmed physics in my entire life, so there's that

I reckon that the rapid destruction of the environment will make it necessary to somehow replenish terrain, as long as the levels aren't gargantuan. Maybe that replenishment mechanic can double as a hazard that can crush players if they get in the way. I'm thinking of a UFO that shoots or teleports new terrain pieces into the level. Players might use it to their advantage and force their enemies into its line of fire. Alternatively players could team up against it and shoot it out of the sky. Of course you could also give players "terrain guns " that, well, shoot pieces of terrain into the map. Kind of like the girders in Worms, just a whole lot cooler. I wish you loads of luck with your project!
Great concept cant believe it hasnt been done before. Gameplay with multiple people might emd up being like COD though where youre constantly getting blown up by noob tube. Need to give the worms a big health bar for sure.

Next game you make could be a legitimate game. You should make a storyboard and dive on in... AND DONT THINK YOU CANT UNDERSTAND 3D. Vector2, Vector3, whatever. Your smart enough.
I agree with you. The background is too busy, high res, and there is not enough blank space behind the actual arena to distinguish between the surface and the background. The entire visual pallet needs a rework. Probably ending somewhere close to worms visuals.
oh great another one of these quirky pixel indie games like undertale or pizza tower where they make the graphics look grotesque and ugly for the sake of "comedy" and totally not because they're incapable of making something beautiful.
For networking I'm glad you're using Photon! (I typed out a thing about how I hope you're using it before getting to that point in the video) If you haven't already, definitely look into dead reckoning for compensating for latency (predictive movement for other entities based on their previous position and velocity) as that done right for at the very least the players will make things a lot easier on you (i.e. you get the player's location, aiming direction, and firing state right then you can just simulate the world destruction locally since it'll be the same). Make the rocket launcher blow you back kind of like a directional powered double jump. Make the explosions boost you more but hurt you. Risk reward based movement. If the damage is also ride-able so to speak then it could open up skill ceilings for counterplay.

Players might need a way to build things, or dig through terrain so they don't get stuck in tunnels and pits. IDK though, it seems pretty cool so far.
