On hotdogs:
Since we’re talking New England split top rolls, you should try it New England style. Dice white onion ultra-fine, brown ground beef and sauté with salt, pepper, paprika. Lower quality beef is better for this, the higher fat content will make the beef hold together better. Grill the dogs on skillet, top them beef-onion-celery salt. We call it “New York” system, which makes no sense, but whatever

Norton frames are only 299$ and so good, I've been only doing discount upgrades and it loves deals. Rode it stock for months first but there's so many parts on sale that fit. In USA PNW components sells refurbished droppers and it is a great deal, lots of 31.9 size
Just ordered my Norton frame today after looking at it for many months. My first proper foray into MTB.
The Nortons are currently sitting at the price point I had dreamed of when it was designed. Definitely THE machine for budget builds now.
Also the juin brakes that came on mine you can sell to a gravel person for more than a pair of 4 pot brakes

I finally picked up a trek marlin 5 on FB marketplace (roadie/graveler). It's fun enough. I totally feel that tires are first upgrade, but my first real "upgrade" planned is to fab a steel frame and swap all the bits over. And yes, been a long time since I've had a hot dog, but New England buns are the way to go.

I would consider this to be a nice bike. But my eyes bleed looking at rotors of different design.
I have problems. I know.
hahah I definitely think about the mismatched rotors from time to time, but then realize: "wow rotors are expensive and these work totally fine." So I just keep going through that loop forever and ever haha

Is 140mm fork up front the most travel fork you’d recommend on this frame? How does that affect your geo numbers upfront? Prefer the 140mm I’m assuming?
you can get some cheap but good rims off pinkbike for like $50 Canadian each or total depending on the day.

i went for a ride today on my rigid 26er with 2.1s and spds and it SUCKED because of just how snowy it was even on the rails to trails

If you don’t use New England style buns and you use ketchup you probably ride a Fat Bike and we all know every bike is a good time except for a Fat Bike 😂
